"Africa's Lost Eden" is a film from National Geographic about Mozambique's Garongosa National Park. It seems that during the nations long and bloody civil war of the 80s-90s, the animals were decimated--making one of the richest areas of animals on the continent practically barren. This film isn't about how this occurred but details how the park is today being restored--as new animals are being re-introduced to the place. Some of the stories are very successful and some, such as one of the animals prominently featured, quite depressing.
The film is narrated by Keith David--and his voice is very good for the task. My only serious complaint is watching the film on Netflix, as the captioning about midway through the documentary becomes totally out of sync with what is happening--as a portion that is captioned is NOT in the film! I assume they edited out a portion about the dry season and about birds along the waterfront! Still, well worth seeing.
