Angie is making breakfast. In the Mary Alice voice-over she explains that Angie was once a girl who fell in love with an eco-terrorist. She helped him make a bomb and although no one was supposed to get hurt something went wrong and someone was killed. Patrick Logan didn't care. Angie wanted to turn herself in but she was pregnant with Patrick's child and the undercover agent who had infiltrated the eco-terrorism group- Nick- convinced her to run away with him and raised her son- Danny- as his own. They ran for twenty years hoping Patrick wouldn't find them. But he did.
Patrick goes to visit Danny at the coffee shop. Danny asks about his novel and Patrick says endings are a bitch, you've gotta surprise your audience. With his back to the door Patrick hears Nick come in ask Danny to go on his run with him later. Nick doesn't make Patrick. And Danny tells him about Nick's running schedule. It turns out that Nick needs to put in a medically induced coma. Angie freaks. He wants her to run. She says it's been three days and nothing has happened. He says they're not taking any chances. She agrees to go with Danny.
She goes home. Patrick is there and he's lit the house with candles and has her gun. He asks what she wants to say to him. She tells him to go to hell. He says it was an accident with Nick. She says Danny is safe. He says it's okay since they're not that close. He says he's not going to kill her because she is going to do him a favor and nonchalantly heads up to the guest room knowing she won't do anything because he's threatened to hurt Nick if she does.
