CHARLIE DAYYYYY

That's all I gotta say!!

Charlie Day is the heart of Sunny He deserved an Emmy for many of the previous seasons But this???

THIS it'll crush me more than this episode when he is eventually snubbed.

Unbelievable Substance
herrbrett24 December 2021
This episode gave me what I love about sunny, but also added a high level of substance. Charlie feels less like a janitor today, and more like a good buddy you want to be there for.

Bravo Charlie Day!
jdoty-0247623 December 2021
Great end to the season. While there were maybe 1 or 2 episodes I wasn't a huge fan of, the whole ireland arc was great and Charlie Day's acting in this finale was heartbreaking and maybe the most emotional in the entire series.

GREAT SEASON FINALE
SnowThatBlows23 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Season 15 def picked up from its first two meh episodes, and ended with a bang!

Charlie breaking down because of the abandonment of his dad was heart breaking and by far, one of the saddest scenes in the entire series.

But this episode also contains some hilarious moments, whether it's the satirical "i have a right" scene during the Irish bar with the waitress or the scene where the gang gets upset at Mac being annoying about his personality of being a "Dutch" (which was later revealed to be a set up by Dennis and Charlie), or even the piss-in-the-bottle scene with Frank and Charlie.

In conclusion, this was definitely one of the best episodes in the entire season, if not the best along with "The Gang's Still in Ireland" & "The Gang Replaces Dee with a Monkey". Can't wait for Season 16!

Charlie Day's Best Performance
emerzm27 December 2021
Charlie Day kills it in this episode, demonstrating a level of depth and emotion that I've never seen from him before. A very raw, real performance. Kudos to him and the whole Sunny crew!

So. Damn. Good.

Season 15 ends with probably the best episode of the season in my opinion. Constant laughs and really funny bits. Everyone killed it. The production on this episode was also super impressive! Fire season. Can't wait for more.

Everyone was thier true selves but Charlie stands out the most. Some of the best work I have ever seen him do, I was deeply effected by it.

Sad this was the last episode of the season though.

This episode was very consistent. It told a good story, and had good gags along the way with an emotional and telling ending. Great performances from everyone, Charlie Day was fantastic.

Season 15 started off decent, but ended incredibly. This is a hilarious, heartfelt, genuine episode that is going to be rewatched many times for sure.

This is Charlie's episode, all kudos to him.

Let's maybe not do any CGI next season.
ronniewhitedx23 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
My only complaint with this season as a whole is the CGI has just been not that great of a use of their budget. Also there's just some obvious pacing issues due to the fact that there's only eight episodes this season they really needed the full 10 because the jump from episode 7 to episode 8 is kind of ridiculous. The comedy is still pretty much the golden standard so if there's just some weird plot shenanigans it is what it is, however I'm a bit disappointed still by the lack of reveals this season I think Charlie's dad is still Frank and we still don't know what waitresses name is in the show and I think it would have been a good idea if they were going all out with Ireland episodes to have at least one major reveal besides the fact that the gang is a representation of America which I thought was more or less obvious throughout the past 15 seasons it's just now there actually just saying it out right.

Best Episode of a Bad Season
benjaminjcoughlin27 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Always Sunny is easily my favorite comedy show ever & one of my favorite shows period. This was the best episode of what is, in my opinion, undeniably the worst season of the show. S13 & s14 were below the show's regular standards, but this season did not have a single great episode & had some of the worst episodes of the show (Gang Buys a Roller Rink is a particular low light).

As i mentioned, this is easily the best episode of this season. However, many of the jokes still fall flat or are absent. Funniest moment of the episode comes when the waitress is arguing with them in the bar. This scene is carried by Kaitlin, who was the best part of this episode despite dropping out first.

Moving on to the season as a whole, it's very bad. There's no other way to put it. The character-based humor that makes the show funny is completely absent. Rob's character did not make me smile even once, glenn's character is a complete shell of himself, & danny's character exists entirely for childish /political humor now (see the poop meatballs & the piss canteens). Charlie's character doesn't for with the current events humor. Kaitlin's character was given absolutely nothing to work with all season. This decline was inevitable, this is season 15 after all. However, what shocked me most about this season was that the show tried to rewrite so much of its own history. Frank maybe being charlie's father is something that existed in the show for so many years now, but now it's a dead joke. Also, the gang buys the roller rink does a lot of rewriting, although somebody covered it in their own review for that episode so i won't rehash it here.

What i don't want to get lost in my negativity here is that i'm very happy for the show. They made tv history & filled their bank accounts in the process. I couldn't be happier for everybody involved & i'm fine with them milking the show as long as long as they want. It's their creation & it's their job after all. They deserve to make as much money as they possibly can off of the show.

However, that does not mean fans of the show can't be honest. The show is not good anymore. It's basically impossible to be good for 15 years, especially in comedy. At its best, this is the funniest show i've ever seen & there isn't another show that comes close. The show was legitimately good for 12 seasons, & i will rewatch those 12 seasons forever. 15 seasons is just too long. Glenn, charlie & rob all know this; the last two season finales have made that abundantly clear. I mean, they gang is literally dragging a corpse up a mountain. How much more obvious can you get?

Good episode but this rating is for the season as a whole
aaronhaus28 December 2021
I highly consider always sunny one of my favorite shows of all time but I think this may be an example of when a show has aired for too long. The other ratings here are just kidding themselves. There was not a single episode in the season that was anywhere close to as funny as some of the old episodes. None of the characters are what made them funny anymore. Dennis is no longer absolutely insane and self absorbed, charlie is no longer an idiot obsessed with doing things, frank no longer has the quirk of activities like using a toe knife, dee seems just uninterested and uninvolved in the show, and mac, lets be honest, didn't have a single funny or controversial line in the entire season that made is love him throughout the show.

Hell of an End to the Season
joshgordon-8576128 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A strong season finally with a stand out performance from Charlie Day. I never expected to be hit this hard by an episode of It's Always Sunny; while the end of Mac Finds His Pride hit hard this hit like a dump truck. The entire episode the joke is that everyone is dropping Charlies biological dad and leaving Charlie, which while funny sets up for Charlies monolog at the end. After tripping Charlie has a tearful realization about how his dad just wasn't there for him. I think the episode should have ended there or with Charlie leaving or something like that, but that's not what happens. The gang comes back in a CGI truck to haul Charlies dad and it just doesn't work for me. Even with those last two minutes this episode has easily cracked my top ten favorite Sunny episodes.

An amazing finale
icandoeverythingperfectly19 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As the title says, I thought this episode was great. The cast did an amazing job as always in this episode. A lot of the gags were really funny, and the rain scene where Charlie breaks down over his father may be one of his best performances in the whole show. I am personally looking forward to what season 16 shows what crazy shenanigans the gang are going to do next.

Great episode and amazing season
falcondj8 April 2022
I don't like politics being shoe-horned into comedy either, but I don't think it was as bad as some reviewers here make it seem. The comedy was more topical than preachy, and it really didn't cater to either side of the aisle. Both sides of the political spectrum were made fun of in this season. They MAYBE got a little bit preachy about the vaccine in this last episode, but I'm willing to forgive that due to the gut-busting comedy throughout the season, and one hell of an emotional performance by Charlie Day in the season finale that actually brought me to tears. Also, people have complained that Charlie got too smart in this season, but I think that's a massive improvement to his character, and he closely resembles the Charlie we got to know in seasons 1-3 rather than the Peter Griffin-esk version of him in the later seasons that make you wonder how much lower they can bring the bar. That being said, I absolutely loved this episode and this season is probably the best they've done in a long time.

I laughed and I cried. It's all I could ever ask for. I don't know how they keep doing it every year but they managed to keep things fresh and heartfelt in the weirdest moments.

Charlie Day is the goat
Rod_ccsqlp14 September 2023
Charlie's portrayal of the moment when he cries over his father's death was nothing short of heart-wrenching. It's one of those scenes that stick with you long after the movie or show has ended. His ability to connect with the audience on such an emotional level is a testament to his remarkable talent as an actor.

I've always admired his acting, but in that particular scene, he truly outdid himself. The rawness and authenticity of his grief were palpable, and it felt like I was experiencing his character's pain right alongside him. It's not often that an actor can make you feel so deeply for a fictional character.

The line, "Now I don't have to spend the rest of my life waiting for you to pick me up," delivered with such poignant emotion, added another layer to the scene's impact. It encapsulated the character's complex feelings and the weight of their unresolved relationship.

Emotional and powerful acting like this showcases the incredible depth of an actor's skills. Charlie's performance in that moment was, without a doubt, outright amazing. It's a reminder of the magic of cinema and the ability of actors to transport us into the worlds they create on screen.

It was one of those episodes that makes you laugh and cry. I thought it was cool that they finally acknowledged how strong mac really is after he got in shape.

We are America!!!!
ssjaditya6 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If you didn't start crying when Frank starts yelling that We are America! And we carry our country wherever we go and that we love our country and when you love something you don't leave it behind. You're probably not an a real American.

Moments later to see Charlie in the rain yelling at his dead dad that he should be the one carrying him up that mountain and not the other way around, that struck me at my core. I think this episode rang home to a lot of folks because they are in the same exact situation as Charlie.

Then the gang shows up in a Ford F-150. Hell yeah Son! Recognize that this was the greatest ending to any season to any series ever made on television.

Episode 1508
bobcobb30127 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Didn't know this was a season finale when it was happening, but this was a well-done episode. Some of the humor a little childish, but a lot of the jokes worked and the Irish setting proved to push every a bit out of their element.

Linear Decline From the End of Season 12
btoews4 March 2022
Quite remarkable how the GOAT sitcom could be so dominant for 12 straight seasons and then literally do a straight line decline from the end of Season 12 when Dennis implied he was leaving the gang. Had they ended the show right there and then its legacy would have been legendary. Oh well-I certainly understand they need the work and the money but it is what is is.
