Learn more- Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke wasted no time getting to some results on Tuesday night's episode of "Dancing with the Stars."
They asked the couples at the top and bottom of the judges' leader board to step to the front of the stage. Nicole & Derek and Kate & Tony. They quickly announced that Nicole & Derek were safe and Kate & Tony were in the bottom two for the first time all season.
In his recap, Len Goodman called Pam, Jake and Erin "the best of the worst and the worst of the best." He grouped Niecy, Kate and Chad at the bottom and said they all need to step up. He said he was most enjoying Evan and Nicole and their battle for the lead.
Play it again...: For the encore, Len did his buddy Bruno Tonioli a favor and gave him another chance to see Jake in his tighty-whities with his "Risky Business"-inspired cha cha cha. What they got was an eye-full of Chelsie, who fell out of her dress a couple of times during the performance.
Be our guest: Maxwell stopped by to sing "A Fist Full of Tears." Later, the special performance of the night featured memorable movie choreography from "Puttin' on the Ritz," "Saturday Night Fever," "Austin Powers" and "Fame" (with a special introduction by Debbie Allen). Costa Rican singer-songwriter Debi Nova, who's written for the Black Eyed Peas, made her bid to be the new Shakira with her performance of her "Drummer Boy."
Back to the results: The two couples tied near the bottom of the leader board were Chad & Cheryl and Niecy & Louis. Brooke revealed that Chad & Cheryl were still in jeopardy and their fate would be revealed later. Niecy & Louis, however, were safe.
Hello, Adam: Adam Carolla paid a visit to poke a little fun at others and himself. The highlight was when he showed a clip of Kate's foxtrot, then asked to see it again in "regular speed" rather than slow motion (it was in real time in the first place).
Back to the results: Evan & Anna and Jake & Chelsie were asked to step forward, and Evan & Anna found out they were safe. Jake & Chelsie, however, were still in jeopardy.
Erin & Maks and Pamela & Damian were next to get the word. Erin & Maks were safe, but Pam & Damian were still in jeopardy.
Jake, Pam, Chad, Kate waited for word. Finally, Jake & Chelsie were declared safe. Chad & Cheryl were also safe. That left Pam & Damian in the bottom two with Kate & Tony.
Bruno was outraged that Pam & Damian were in the bottom because he believes Pam is actually a good dancer who embodies the characters she's portraying on the dance floor.
Tom announced that the couple with the lowest combined total of scores and votes was Kate & Tony. Tony praised Kate for always giving it her best despite all the things going on in her life.
Kate cried as she talked about the great experience she had on the show and said she couldn't wait to watch the rest of the group continue to perform.
