- A reporter casts a fake Bin Laden to act in his video message to America, so he can immigrate there.
- "Tere Bin Laden" is a tongue-in-cheek comedy about an ambitious young news reporter from Pakistan who is desperate to migrate to the US in pursuit of the American dream. His repeated attempts to immigrate are shot down as his visa is always rejected. But when things couldn't look worse he comes across an Osama bin Laden look alike. Ali then hatches a scheme to produce a fake Osama video and sell it to news channels as a breakthrough scoop! Unfortunately there are serious ramifications as the White House gets involved and dispatches a overzealous secret agent on Ali's trail.—Anonymous
- After being rejected & even deported from legally entering the United States of America, Karachi-based Danka TV News Reporter, Ali Hassan, then faces more humiliation at the hands of his boss, Majeed Khan, when he ham-handles the Chief Minister's speech. He is then assigned to cover a cock-crowing contest in a small village, gets to witness the winner, Noora, who resembles Osama Bin Laden. Not giving up hope of relocating abroad, he contacts Lashkar-E-Amreeka's Jamalbhai, who demands a considerable sum of money for a fake passport. Ali and his cameraman, Gul, then attempt to locate Osama, and upon failing to do so, decide to create a fake video featuring Noora. They partner with a desperate radio host/mimicry artiste; an Arabic-speaking co-worker, Lateef; a make-up artiste, Zoya; and con a naive Noora to face the camera, enhance his looks - and set off a hilarious/perilous chain of events - hoping to raise enough cash to immigrate.—rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)
- Ali Hassan (Ali Zafar) is a reporter with Danka TV, a down market local TV channel in Karachi, Pakistan. He is keen to migrate to the US for a better life and wants to work for an American news channel. He gets a chance to fly to the US but ruins it on board while filming his own audition. He recites the words "Hijack" and "Bomb" too many times; thus, scaring his fellow passengers and flight crew. As soon as he reaches the United States, he is deported. Furthermore, because of this incident his visa application is rejected six times in seven years. Majeed Khan (Piyush Mishra) is the owner of Danka TV who employs Ali. Ali is frequently in trouble as he in unable to cover important events, as nobody lets him in (Danka TV is not known even in Karachi).. Lateef (Chirag Vohra) is the technical guy of the Channel and is not very good at his job.
Jamal Bhai (Rajendra Sethi) is a travel agent and Ali begs him to get him to the USA. Jamal says Ali has been rejected 6 times, so he will need a new passport (costing Rs 2.72 Lakhs). The other route is the Jihadi one, via Iran to Irzaq and through a surrender to an American military base, straight to the USA. Ali wants the new passport route but doesn't have any money to pay for it.
While covering a local event (the rooster who crows the loudest) for his channel, he comes across an Osama Bin Laden look-alike, Noora (Pradhuman Singh) (Noora lives in Karachi for the last 10 years and is a chicken farmer (3000 hens and 1000 roosters)), and hits upon an idea to make a fake Osama tape (The US are offering a reward of $25 MM to get him captured). He manages to convince his assistant Gul (Nikhil Ratnaparkhi) about the merits of his plan. Lateef is from Saudi Arabia and is sick of Majeed. Ali and Gul recruit him to write a script in Arabic. Ali poses Lateef as a rep of an Arabic news channel and tells Noora that Lateef wants to interview him.
With help from his travel agent's Jamal Bhai (Rajendra Sethi) assistant Zoya (Sugandha Garg) (who wants Rs 2 Lakhs to do the make up to make Noora look more like Osama) and a local radio jockey Qureshi (Rahul Singh) (who provides the dubbing on top of Noora's voice for Rs 1 Lakh) (Qureshi is anti-US and Ali convinces him that dubbing on Noora will give Qureshi the opportunity to say his piece to US directly). The team works really hard to get the script, the voice and the make-up exactly right. A lot of research and hard work goes into it.
Ali is able to make the tape by tricking Noora into unknowingly posing as Bin Laden (He is given an Arabic script to read, which he cannot understand and hence thinks he is giving an interview about chickens) (as he starts speaking Zoya and Qureshi replace his background with a world map, with an AK-47 in the foreground) (later, Qureshi dubs over it, and the tape is ready). He then sells the tape to the owner (For Rs 10 Lakhs) (Majeed sells the tape ahead for Rs 30 Lakhs) of his channel, hoping to raise money for a new false identity, a new passport and a renewed attempt at getting the elusive US visa.
Zoya opens her beauty parlor, and Ali gives Jamal the money for a new identity and passport (Jamal informs Ali that due to the new video security has gone up manifold and hence he is shutting down the business and returns Ali's money). Lateef resigns from Majeed. However, the gravity of their action strikes them when the US Government takes the tape seriously and gets involved, as do the Pakistani intelligence agencies. Noora, too, comes to know about the trick played upon him and goes into hiding in his house. The FBI figures that the world map was printed in Urdu and hence the tape was made in Pakistan. ISI is instructed to figure out where it originated. Ali decides to defuse the situation by making another tape in which Osama would be declaring ceasefire with US. He manages to convince Noora (for money this time) and Qureshi.
During the shooting of the tape in Danka TV studio, Noora unwittingly detonates a grenade, which kills his beloved prize rooster. Depressed, Noora runs away from the location with the Osama-makeup still on, forcing Ali and his team to follow suit. They catch up with Noora and convince him to complete the new video shoot.
Meanwhile, the FBI team, led by Ted Wood (Barry John) (ted-ji) and Usman (Chinmay Mandlekar), head of the Pakistani intelligence agency tracks down that Majeed was the Pakistani who sold the tape to India and other news agencies. Majeed is abducted by Ted and Usmaan. Under torture, Majeed reveals clues about the person (Gul with a Burqa), who handed the tape to him. Majeed remembers that the guy was carrying an umbrella labeled "Pappu Chattri". Via the shop, Usman tracks down Ali and Gul.
The police arrests Noora, Ali and his team. Ted is delirious that he could at last catch Osama bin Laden. However, during the interrogation, the truth is revealed and to save Ted's face, Ali convinces him about his idea of making a tape of Osama declaring ceasefire. The film ends with US accepting the offer of ceasefire and Ted getting elected as Defense Secretary. Ali is, at last, able to make it to the US and Noora too changes his lifestyle, marries Zoya and helps her with the daily routine in her beauty parlor. Usman is shown to be admitted in a mental hospital as he tries to tell the truth to the world.
