'Wild Life' Is Right - Birds, Cats & People
ccthemovieman-121 December 2011
There are two crime stories in this one. That used to be the case routinely the few first seasons of CSI but it isn't done much in recent years. Both cases are fairly interesting.

The solution to the second one - an old couple with a big parrot and a cat - found dead with one stabbed to death in the chest and the other with head trauma in the shower is the most insane, craziest scenario I've ever seen on CSI.....but I had to laugh. You know it was played for laughs, anyway, the way it worked out.

The first story is a kind of kinky, sordid one with two women out on the town, getting totally hammered and then waking up with blood on their sheets in a hotel room and a man dead from falling from their balcony. This story has tons of twists and turns and everyone is slime-ball in it. Even all the CSI workers have some smart sexual-innuendos remarks en route to solving the case.

This was played a bit for laughs but had the sort of plot the first season would have had. A man falls to his death off a sixth floor balcony in a casino hotel. This leads to a couple of women out for an outrageous fling, who were in the room from which he fell. In a second case, a combative older couple end up dead, one, face smashed into a glass table, the other lying bleeding in a bathtub. But the kicker is that they own a parrot and a cat. Interesting.

A Parrot, A Cat and a Threesome

When the guest of a hotel falls off the balcony of a room, Catherine, Nick, Langston and Det. Vartann investigate the room. They find his name, Brad Malone, and that he had many debts, and they question whether he committed suicide. Nick and Langston note that Brad may also have felt from the next-door room, and they find blood in front of the door. The open the door and find two women on the bed with the sheet soaked of blood. However, they claim to be amnesic since they drunk too much in the previous night. Meanwhile, Greg, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate the murder of an old couple. The only witness is a parrot that does not speak. When Sara finds a cat and Dr. Robbins makes the autopsy, they check an unusual and weird conclusion.

"Wild Life" is a good episode of "CSI" with two great segments. The plot of the man murdered in the hotel has many twists but they find the truth in the end. The plot of the old couple and their parrot and cat is tragically funny. My vote is eight.
