A great start to series three

When 'Being Human' wasn't picked up after the pilot I assumed that was that; another good idea killed off to make room for some rubbishÂ… little did I know that the BBC would actually listen to the feed back and commission a full series, a series that has just returned for its third year. After the incident on the train Mitchell, George and Nina have left Bristol for Barry Island in Wales and Annie is trapped in Purgatory. Mitchell is determined to rescue Annie so follows a recently deceased man through the door to Purgatory to try to find her. Here a young woman who seems to know him and is to act as his guide meets him, as they are together they visit key moments from his past where he has killed people. While Mitchell is looking for Annie, George and Nina are trying to find a place where they can transform without being a danger to themselves or others. The story doesn't just follow our protagonists, we also see another werewolf who has been captured and forced to engage in a cage fight against a man armed with only a knife; we learn little of whom he is or why he was forced to fight but I don't doubt it will be important to this year's story.

This was a gripping series opener that quickly established that they had moved and that they still weren't reunited with Annie; it also effectively introduced the new vampire played by Robson Green. As one would expect there was plenty of blood to be seen; there was also some humour to lighten the mood, in particular when George got arrested when he accidentally turned up in a rural car park that was full of people intending to have some al fresco sex!

Good start to the new series. I just wonder when Herrick will turn up as he got brought back at the end of series 2. The whole George and Nina probably having sex as werewolves thing was a nice plot twist, might see some little werewolf babies, I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series :D This episode as a whole was good. Michell going through the doors in the corridor to find Annie to George being arrested hours before he was going to transform. I really do think that this will be a good series, then again the past 2 series were good, lets hope series 3 is just as good, just as gory, just as serious and well. Just as awesome as the other two.
