Top class action flick!
First off, the tagline "A mafioso action love story" is very deceptive. It's a mafioso action story for sure, but definitely not a love story. Keep that in mind.
Coming to the film,
Ameerin Aadhi Bhagavan is one rare action film that starts like a simple rags-to-riches story, but as it unfolds, it evolves into something unexpected. The villain totally steals the show in the second half.
And for that, I have got to praise Jayam Ravi: who has portrayed both Aadhi and Bhagavan with brilliance.
The film's technical aspects are rich, especially in the action sequences executed in an international style. One thing that took me by surprise is that the BGM from the Telugu action film Panjaa has been used in this film. It's possibly because Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of both the films.
The story is well written, although one thing that hinders the flow is a placement of a couple of songs. Other than that, Ameerin Aadhi Bhagavan is a completely different, dark action film that has a lot to offer.
Ameer has directed the film pretty well. Certain sequences are well executed and full marks go to him for also extracting the best out of his cast.
This could be possibly the finest performance of Jayam Ravi, especially as the menacing antagonist Bhagavan. Must watch for action fans who like breakneck action mixed with a dark tone and some chilling twists.
