Sex & Nudity

  • A man opens the door to find a naked woman (briefly, her backside and part of her breast is visible) she quickly covers herself.
  • Two scenes of sexual encounters. The first very briefly shows Nelly's face experiencing some sexual pleasure. The second shows Charles and Nelly (from the shoulders up and wearing nightgowns) in bed together with subtle movement (even at his climax) and heavy breathing.
  • A prostitute on the street calls out, "Shilling a blow, sir?"

Violence & Gore

  • A dead baby covered in blood (the result of a miscarriage) is very briefly shown before it is covered by a blanket.
  • A train derails, and passengers are injured. Some of the people have blood smeared on their faces. Although no wound is shown, one man is pinned under the wreckage and appears to be dead.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Various alcohols consumed, but nothing excessive; champagne and wine are served at parties, a man on the street takes a swig from a bottle, a flask of brandy is given to someone who is injured.
