Said or Unsaid
Hitchcoc21 August 2023
This is about dirty politics. A bug is found in the office of a supposedly secure agency. The head of anti-terrorism ministry knows it was put there illegally. He goes against the PM's orders and has a press conference. He's only interested in saving his job. Meanwhile, a woman who made a random comment out of context at a party when she was 21 is thrown under the bus. Her career is pretty much at an end because the comment involved favoring kidnapping the Prime Minister's children. It was said in a way that wasn't involving serious policy. On the home front, Mr. Prime Minister is getting bored and having trouble with his wife's intense schedule. It's understandable, but how else will she do her work.

A Good Episode

Warning: Spoilers
Just as I suspected, once again we have a rift brewing between Birgitte and Philip. Is Philip having an affair? He says "no", but is he telling the truth?

And the main story of this episode was great: the surveillance state run amok. Lars Brygmann does a yeoman's job of portraying Troels Höxenhaven, a control freak who believes whatever he decides is right and the ends justify the means.

Katrine has tired of her relationship with the spinning trainer. There was a good scene where she started yelling at him.

Anne Lindenkrone probably regrets her big mouth.

But the best part was Birgitte telling Troels that as far as she was concerned he was a "dead" man in her cabinet. That was an awesome exchange. Which makes this series SO worthwhile. That is to say: if you back Birgitte into a corner, she doesn't shrink. She'll rip your head off.
