this show deserve to stand among top five the Indian tele has produced till day..
vic0071531 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I searched for this show for more reviews at IMDb. Frankly, I was eager to find out whether there would be a season two coming out or not since the ending of first season left us on a cliffhanger.

Every once in a while we come across a show that moves our soul, to make us think if we'd done the same thing in those situations or just become a deaf to our instincts and miss out on the best parts of our life. This show moved me. It felt natural to laugh with them characters and I felt a gumption to write a review or if I am feeling to lazy to feel it, read a review. Surprise, surprise i found none, nada , not a single review, but only ratings.

Considering how this venture is a benchmark for Indian television,it's almost preposterous to not review it considering the age we live where Indians love to gush upon the foreign material, the good the bad and missing the diamond in their backyard. Not that its a bad thing but gotta appreciate whats done right. And this is what done right. This show effortlessly stands with the likes of "Nukaad", "Buniyaad", "Sea Hawks" and "yeh Jo hai zindagi" .......

What makes "Rishta.com" a utter masterpiece in Indian Tele house is the maturity that it commands and muster the contents of practical life elements so elegantly through its main protagonist played by Shruti Seth and Kavi Shastri. You fall in love with the characters in first episode itself that leaves you content with the feeling "that the second episode would be worth waiting". It spells you to fall in love with each and every character including the supporting cameos by new comers. I acknowledge the talent of "Mr.Seth" the director of this show.

Now coming to the plot: Rishta.com follows Shruti Seth as Isha Mirchandani and a new face, Kavi Shastri as Rohan Mehra and Kavin Dave as Huzaifa. They are extremely opposite but compassionate souls who claim to be living life the right way. The story of two contrasting individuals namely Isha and Rohan who ventures to open a matrimonial agency and try to unite the matches made in heaven and hence play cupid. While accomplishing the most arduous job, they encounter extreme cases, and illogical requests from their clients. As two strikingly different individuals, the way they deal with these circumstances proves the line that men are from mars and women are from Venus. What follows is series of hilarity and the perfect sweet-salty recipe for a "Happily Ever After".

The plot seems simple but the presentation is Eureka!! Every frame has a fresh feel to it...specially the way they did the cinematography which equalizes any big budget contemporary bollywood movie.... However there are parts which can bore those who are used to Saas-Bahu and conventional family serials but rest assured one can guarantee that it is worth every bit of it.

Check it out and grab a bowl of maggie for a marathon!!

Rishta.com comes of age in 2018
aakritivyas9 May 2018
If it weren't for the advent of online content streaming, Rishta.com would have died a premature death. A crisp, witty, relatable office sitcom/drama with excellent performances and relevant social issues. Shruti Seth and Kavi Shatri as Isha Mirchandani and Rohan Mehra respectively are excellent. The former portraying a young, intelligent, ambitious but naive girl rapidly experiencing the beauty and challenges of womanhood and the latter portraying a kind, charismatic albeit cynical young man; in a partnership running a marriage bureau. The dialogues are witty and relatable and oscillate between Hindi and English - immediately capturing the interest of upwardly mobile 30 something Indians worldwide that are multi-lingual. The supporting cast played by Kavin Dave and Kiren Jogi offer comical interludes that balance the friendly bickering between the protagonists. The chemistry between Isha and Rohan in the last episode of Season 1 is palpable and intense and the perfect climax for a Season 2. It's been nearly a decade since this series debuted, but it has finally found its audience. I hope its makers will plan Seasons 2 and 3 soon! Waiting with bated breath!

An outstanding TV series
mamtauniyal8817 May 2018
Rishta.com came as a delightful surprise thanks to online streaming websites. I think it deserves to be applauded with its very genuine acting, strong direction and crisp dialogue writing. It's nothing like the run of the mill series Indian TV is flooded with for a long long time. I started to watch it expecting to see something very ordinary, but was swept off my feet with it's brilliance. I does deserve to be rated among the top comedy light hearted TV shows ever made by Indian TV. I was very disappointed to see that it did not have any more seasons after the first. Looks like it did not get the right publicity in its time. I hope the team comes back together to start 2nd season.

This show is best compared to many others.. The actors are great, there is no vamp.. just human relationships and how they evolve over a period of time. I am waiting to see season 2.

Meaningful, light hearted, and way ahead of its time
gupta-kushagr27 May 2018
This is one of the best Indian tv serials I have watched lately and I'm surprised how so few people have endorsed. I connected so well with the two protagonists, and on multiple occasions imagined myself in their situations. I'm definitely going to watch this again and wish there comes a season 2 someday. Just can't appreciate this serial enough.

Very different than typical Saans Bahu serial, watched this on Netflix and couldn't stoped, watched all the episodes back to back in 3 days. Well made and thoughtfull. Never gets boring or stretched. Crisp and ended with no big drama. Would definitely like to watch Season 2

TRP has final say
rajanjims28 May 2018
I wish makers wouldn't have discontinued this series based on TRP. This series has lot to offer compared to other Indian TV series. For me undoubtedly it stands among the best. The cast, script, direction everything was outstanding. Unfortunately TRP has final say. May be it was 2010 and this series was ahead of time. I hope this series would be given one more opportunity and this time result will be fortune :).

Rishta. Com should be back with more seasons
bansalswarnima7 June 2019
The series is very refreshing, the way the Isha and Rohan deal with people and their problems, is commendable. The chemistry between them is unmatched, and as someone below said, like Mars and venus. The series should come back with more chemistry and people with different perspectives.. It was great to see the conflicts people go through.. Please bring it back.

Hooked

Can't believe that there is no season 2. This was so refreshing and fun to watch unlike half the crap that we endure in Hindi television with the Dha dha. The makers should really try to get season 2 out. Thanks to Netflix some of us know this series did exist at one time

supreet-kd21 September 2018
With new age streaming portals this show finally reached the appropriate audience it was made for. 7 years later and still so relevant. I am happy I found this show on Netflix. It's one of the best Indian sitcom till date. I hope makers of the show read this comment and come up with Season 2.

A pleasure to watch
happy_peace_200430 April 2018
The cast and scriptwriters have done an amazing job at keeping you interested in every episode. People's emotions and personalities are realistic - not extremes that you find in the usual crappy serials. (Perhaps the actors/actresses could rewear some of the clothes throughout the episodes to make it more realistic, rather than new clothes and new jewellery every time).

Great show if you like Dramas
desaishiv-4133614 April 2018
The show is great representation of the difficulties and decisions involved in arranged marriages in India, specially around 2010s. A lot of things have changed since then, but this shows still manages to capture the essence of how marriage bureaus work with people and the experiences those people have!

Beautifully portrayed with simply amazing performances
adibright18 January 2020
I didn't know anything about this 2010 TV series but found it on Netflix.

What an amazing binge watch over three evenings. Shruti, Rohan, Huzeifa, Ruchika, Ashish and all others have performed simple and are very real humans.

A treat to watch something refreshing and meaningful from Indian TV (which I very rarely watch).

I don't think YRF will be able to bring Season 2 but boy I wish they could!

A delightful series on the human condition set in modern day India
Rita_Roy30 March 2018
What a delightful serial. Really worth one's time. Beautifully put together, interesting leads, individual stories with very unique human problems. The story is centred around a matrimonial agency but the pleasure one gets from the stories is that it's more than simply a match making service. It's includes little vignettes of the human frailties and challenges.

Must watch!
swati-734145 October 2018
This is one show I wish I had watched earlier. It's really ahead of its time. The dialogues are funny, witty. The chemistry between the characters is excellent. Simple and yet such a feel good show. Glad it's on Netflix. I think I would rate this as the best show I've seen after Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Maybe even on par with it since it's so different from it. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone and everyone I know. It's one show I actually don't mind binge watching :)

Great show, for sure ahead of its time for Indian TV in 2010
trurohzes4 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Had this show been released now it would have surely had a season 2. A very well directed light hearted comedy show. Every episode is very well scripted, makes you feel closer to the characters. Great casting and acting by all those involved. Sad to know that season 2 will not be happening, would have loved to see how the lead characters future would have shaped up after that ending. Thanks Netflix for adding this show, I would have never known the existence of this great show otherwise.

A must watch!! Need a season 2!! Way ahead of it's time!
sanjana-7305420 February 2019
It's sad that it didn't find much of an audience in 2010. So greatful to Netflix. The script, acting, direction it's right on point. We really need more progressive and realistic shows on TV like this. Not just the saas bahu sagas and college romances. We need more content driven stories to tell here as well. A must watch!!
