Attention, Hollywood: Kelly Clarkson has had a lifelong love affair with White Christmas – “my favorite Christmas movie!” – and she’s available for a remake.
“You know how they’re doing musicals on TV now?” she said. “I really want to do that with that movie.”
The singer nominated herself (for the Rosemary Clooney part, no doubt) during her holiday musical extravaganza in Nashville on Friday night. And by all means take her seriously, because she’s earned the right to call herself a queen of Christmas music, especially in her adopted hometown.

Though it’s called Cma Country Christmas, don’t expect much twang in this year’s edition of the popular TV special. That’s no complaint, because the show delivers something dazzling for almost every holiday musical taste.
Jennifer Nettles once again helms the special, the seventh annual, which airs Monday at 8 p.m. Est on ABC. Taped before a live audience on election night at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, the show features a strong array of country artists who deftly expand beyond their genre, as well as other special guests who otherwise circulate outside country’s porous borders.

As per usual, Mariah Carey sounded amazing in not one, but two performances on NBC’s ‘Christmas at Rockefeller Center.’ Her Christmas album from 1994 is still one of the most listened to around the holidays, and we’re not surprised.
Mariah Carey looked better than ever in two different dresses on Dec. 4 when she hit the stage — both times. She opened and closed the show! She was definitely one of the biggest stars at the 81st Annual Tree Lighting. Christmas In Rockefeller Center was filled with amazing performances — and both of hers were incredible.

The country singer had the audience laughing when host Bethenny Frankel told her she was a sex symbol. "I don't know about that," the 27-year-old replied as she blinked furiously, explaining that she was trying to do "my sex eyes." In the episode airing on Thursday, Pickler demonstrated how uncomfortable she felt when doing a photo shoot for Maxim magazine. "I was really awkward and they are like, 'Just relax.' "Duck Dynasty's" Willie Robertson was a special guest for Cma Country Christmas 2013 Monday (Dec. 2), where he performed "Hairy Christmas" with country singer Luke Bryan -- Jennifer Nettles says it's the whole new start of a musical dynasty.
We aren't sure about that, but Willie doesn't have a bad voice.
But before the performance, Willie had his whole family on hand -- wife Korie and kids Sadie, Will, Bella and John Luke, and exchange student Rebecca, whom the family is hosting from Taiwan. They were asked about their favorite Christmas foods and they say that for Christmas, it's more about seafood.

"Duck and dressing is more for Thanksgiving," says Willie.
"By the time we get to Christmas, we've been eating a lot of deer and duck 'cause it's hunting season, so we're ready for some seafood," adds Korie.
"We'll do fried shrimp.

Blonde bombshell Kellie Pickler is no stranger to the annual ABC special Cma Country Christmas. Her choice this year was her new single "Man With The Bag," a remake of the 1954 holiday tune by Kay Starr.
Kellie's version is bubbly, jazzy and a lot of fun. Above is an short Instagram of the performance. The video isn't great, but the audio is terrific. We'll post the full video as soon as we have it. "Man With the Bag" was released as a single by Pickler earlier this year, so if you were a fan of her Marilyn Monroe-esque performance, download it now.
During her pre-performance interview, Pickler was talking about her favorite holiday foods and she had an interesting answer -- "fried okra." That sounds delicious to us, but her husband Kyle Jacobs wasn't quite sure what to make of that. Heh.

ABC kicked off its annual Cma Country Christmas with host Jennifer Nettles strutting her stuff to "What Christmas Means to Me," originally by Stevie Wonder. Afterward, she was joking about how much more mobile she is this year than last year -- during last year's Cma Country Christmas, she was very pregnant. Her adorable son Magnus is in the photo above.
But she's not pregnant this year. This year, Nettles was bopping around all over the stage, flanked by some very energetic dancers (some of them sporting instruments that they were doing a hilarious job of fake playing). Watch her monologue below.
We'll post video of her opening song as soon as we have it. What do you think of Cma Country Christmas so far?...

Jennifer Nettles surely is more comfortable hosting "Cma Country Christmas" this time.
When she filled that role on the ABC special last year, the Sugarland vocalist was about to deliver her first baby. In the same month her son marks his first birthday, Nettles is back for her fourth round introducing a parade of country artists performing seasonal favorites in the two-hour show Monday, Dec. 2.
(ABC repeats it both Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 22.)
"One of the things I had hoped for this show was for it to become a tradition," Nettles tells Zap2it. "As a new mom, I'm hyper-aware of that now. This is what families do; they start traditions. Things start to take on a different meaning when you're a family."
Other members of the country music "family" in the newest "Cma Country Christmas" include Lady Antebellum, Trace Adkins, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Hunter Hayes, Kellie Pickler,...

"Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale was red hot in a sizzling fire-engine red dress for the taping of the 2013 Cma Country Christmas this past weekend. The star is reported to have performed "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," which is not originally by Mariah Carey, but her version is perhaps the best known.
Taking on a Mariah tune is no easy feat, but Hale seems to handle herself pretty well -- check out the video of the taping below.
Hale tweets of the event, "Well...that was crazy amazing. Thank you Cma Christmas for including me! I can't believe my life."
Hale was joined on stage by country heavyweights Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Kellie Pickler and Luke Bryan, plus some mainstream artists like Sheryl Crow and Mary J. Blige.
The special airs Monday, Dec. 2 on ABC.

It hasn't been Luke Bryan's year alone in country music, but there's no question he's been enjoying a fabulous one.
Named entertainer of the year at last spring's Academy of Country Music Awards, the singer-songwriter is riding high on the success of his album and single both titled "Crash My Party," and he's sold out concert venues across the country on dual tours.
Things may be about to get even better for Bryan, given his three nominations -- including entertainer and male vocalist of the year -- in the Country Music Association's 47th Annual Cma Awards. Bryan will be among the performers as ABC televises the event from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 6, with Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood paired again as the event's hosts for the sixth consecutive time.
Having earned his first two Cma nominations last year, Bryan says he's "excited about" his chances this time.

It's a boy for Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles and her husband, Justin Miller! The couple released a statement on Thursday (Dec. 6) to let the world know the good news from the country-singer superstar.
So what did they name the new little one? Magnus Hamilton Miller is the first child born to the 38-year-old Grammy winner and her husband. They announced the tyke's imminent arrival back in June, and Nettles was visibly pregnant at this year's Cma Awards.
In a statement issued on Friday by the couple, the parents stated that they were "so thankful for all the prayers and support and are excited to take some time together as a new family." As this indicates, Nettles will take off some time from performing in Sugarland. She will, however, appear in the already-taped "Cma Country Christmas" airing on ABC on Dec. 20.

Usually Martina McBride, with her soaring vocals, takes on the slow, enormous ballads like "O Holy Night," which last year during Cma Country Christmas made us a cry a little. But this year, we were delighted to hear her do "Please Come Home for Christmas," which is one of our favorite holiday songs and doesn't get that much play. (We also always mistakenly refer to it as "Bells Will Be Ringing.")
We love the Eagles version, but Martina just nailed this one. We are going to download this post haste. Did you love it as much as we did?
It's on the album "The Country Christmas Collection with Colonial Candles," which now we're fairly interested in buying, because it also features Reba McIntire "I'll Be Home For Christmas", The Band Perry "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town"; Rascal Flatts "Mary Did You Know?"; Eli Young Band "Wonderful Christmastime"; Edens Edge...

One of the new additions to the second Cma Country Christmas was "American Idol" runner-up Lauren Alaina, looking absolutely gorgeous in a black dress. She took to the stage to talk with host Jennifer Nettles about how blessed she is and how Christmas came early for her, after the year she's had.
Lauren then sang "My Grown-Up Christmas List," which never fails to make us cry a little. Yes, we're big saps. Why do you ask?
But little Ms. Alaina sounded gorgeous, that beautiful rasp we came to know and love on "Idol" last spring. Do you kind of get the inkling of a career trajectory similar to Carrie Underwood? It has always felt a little like that to us with Lauren.

Jennifer Nettles, the bubbly blonde lead singer of Sugarland, hosted the 2011 Cma Country Christmas. She was a great emcee, especially when she kicked off the festivities with the Mariah Carey hit "All I Want For Christmas Is You."
Mariah will always have the definitive version, but Jennifer's country version was delightful. Video is below, though we'll sub in better video when we have it.
In her pre-show interview above, Nettles says, "The good thing about Christmas is there are songs that are wild and campy and outrageous, that lend themselves to costumes and dancers, all the way to tranditional songs tha tare more somber and beautiful and backed by an orchestra. You will get the whole spectrum of musical entertainment, must like the old-school variety shows."
Definitely, Jennifer.

Jennifer Nettles had a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. The Sugarland singer, 37, quietly tied the knot Saturday in a small, sunset ceremony in Tennessee. Trace and Nancy are no Brad and Carrie
The opening video sequence introduced host Trace Adkins, who was "enjoying" Las Vegas while his hit "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" was playing in the background. Huh. Nancy O'Dell is on hand as the co-host and while she looks just smokin' in her little black dress, we miss Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley singing funny parodies.

Blake Shelton kicked things off with his "Kiss My Country A**" song. This definitely isn't the CMAs. Viva Las Vegas? And barely a moment passes before Easton Corbin performs, followed by Rascal Flatts...
