Should have stopped at the first
ryleilove19 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Script, acting, plot, plot twist, direction, cinematography and everything else about this movie....laughable. They should have stopped at the first one. That one I'll say wasn't the best and yes they made some stupid decisions but it was a little less than ok. This one was just HORRIBLE in every way.

The wife Michelle I think irked me the most in this movie. She is a horrible actress and her lines were awful and made her more annoying. I was hoping Corbin was going to kill her, what a disappointment. Then the chick Jasmine, she's the next worst one with an annoying script. And for those who say the plot twist surprised them...I can't see how. She made it so obvious she had a role in the whole thing. I saw it from a mile away in the scene when she first kissed Brenden. I may not have known the exact role or her story but she came off like the Amanda to Jigsaw.

One thing I did like is when Chris Stokes daughter was like "can we save all this mushy stuff until we get out of here".... I hate in movies when they first get free they hug for like 5 hours like HELLOOOOOO THERE'S SOMEONE STILL TRYING TO KILL YOU BECAUSE YOU WERE TOO STUPID TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE DEAD so all this hugging is unnecessary. There were a few other lines I appreciated because they pointed out the obvious stupidity of "other" horror movies.

I'm all for creativity and I appreciate the effort which is why this got a 3. Otherwise, it's a 1 or less for me.

A pointless sequel...
bluesfan271331 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The original was bad enough. Why in the world would they waste time and money on a sequel? The second one contains horrible dialogue ("I've been in this situation before.. Well I haven't but my husband has") poor acting and it's not even scary. The villain doesn't exhibit any of the same behavior as the first one. This movie may flashback to the original but I don't understand how the first movie takes place in the woods and for some reason this movie takes place in a dark facility. Only reason I gave this movie a 3 is because the surprising twist at the end caught me off guard and made for a somewhat interesting ending. Only sat through the sequel because I happened to stumble upon the original on Netflix.

Somebody help this movie!!

LOL !!! is all i can say about this movie. i thought that the remake of prom night was the worst horror movie I've ever seen until this garbage.. a few years ago i saw the original at a screening in Baltimore promoting the release of the film on DVD in which the main actors (Omarion and Marquis Houston ) made a special appearance.. it wasn't a good movie but i could have at least stomached it but this movie took every wrong turn from the opening scene everything from laughable acting, contradictory corny dialog, ridiculous plot twist.. the list goes on and on. it never seem to amaze me why anyone would bother to sink any money into trash like this.... avoid at all costs unless you just want a laugh

THEY SHOULD OF STOPPED WHEN NO ONE SAW THE FIRST MOVIE
nogodnomasters3 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I have not seen the first movie and it might of helped as this one made constant references to it. Fortunately they tossed in a couple of flashbacks and slasher films are not hard to figure out. Brenden and Darryl are close friends who both have super wives who can't act. Brenden is troubled by nightmares which he believes are portent. In one night Darryl, Brenden's wife and niece are missing and Darry's wife shows up at Breden's place and she seems to be putting the moves on him...

The movie soon turns into a torture film as everyone becomes a prisoner of the experimenting doctor, although it is not graphic. For instance, we see a cutting device move toward a finger, then we see a severed finger (without blood). The acting, dialogue, and plot were all fairly bad with few bright spots. The camera angels were awkward and I noticed it cut off the tops of heads too many times at the beginning of the movie. This is just amateur camera and directing mistakes. No real horror. Nothing to see here folks, just keep moving on.

No F-bombs, no sex, no nudity.

Flawed and really troubling slasher sequel
kannibalcorpsegrinder17 September 2012
Finally having moved on from a harrowing experience with a vicious serial killer, a group of friends find themselves right back in the same situation as the events begin mirroring each other again and race to stop his newest rampage from being completed.

This here was a heavily flawed and rather troubling effort. The main focus of this is the continued references to part 1 and with their being so much referenced by the characters in regards to that one with only one flashback used to fill in the gaps somewhat, this made for an extremely confusing watch due to the fact that, with several of the cast coming back, all they do is talk about not letting it happen again and then worrying that it will once the events start to unfold, which resides mainly in kidnapping people. That's about it, not killing people or doing anything to them, just being a kidnapper and holding them hostage with ropes or handcuffs, not in any torturous traps or anything and that not only makes no sense, it doesn't make for a thrilling watch due to the utter lack of anything really impressive or scary throughout. That the finale in the lair during which they have to escape from a darkly-lit, creepy underground bunker makes the only good part of the whole film, and even then there's hardly any real gore, or even deaths to be had since they all escape from the situation anyway. A real mess and not really all that enjoyable.

Rated R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.
