Season 1 finale was better
ISmellSnow15 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Season 1 finale was better BUT season 2 as a whole is better. Maddie getting so mad at Bill? I mean, I'm not a fan of him at all but cut him a little bit of slack. He didn't know about Isaac and at least he is going to do the right thing by trying to form a relationship with him and at least he didn't keep it a secret from Maddie.

Cals anger escalated way too quickly. The finale could've been better without this storyline. I know we need drama and tension, but this was too much.

Eric & Helen are THE best 2 characters in this show and if they don't end up together, it will be a huge disappointment. Please let's keep Ryan out. No offense to the actor, he's great- just don't like the character.

I'm still not convinced that Jackson is a good guy. I don't want him to hurt Annie but I definitely don't want them to end up together. She belongs with Ty.

Dana Sue is becoming more and more unlikeable.

Does EVERYONE have to be in a relationship? Even Kyle? Can't we have some single people on this show?

Okay I'm done with my ranting lol. I am excited for a season 3.

Finale had me frustrated

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with the other reviewers here.

The proposal - semi predictable to throw a monkey-wrench into Helen's new romance. I don't care for Ryan's character. He left her high and dry last season and just expects to pick up where they left off?

The fight scene at the end - also too predictable. The 'fan' was too coo-coo bordering on a stalker. Cal should have been more polite and diplomatic showing him outside to talk and wait for the police. I realize they need the drama.

Isaac - I thought the mayor was going to be his dad from a previous scene. That would have been good ammunition for the mayor's recall.

Dana Sue - seems too angry. I get it, he cheated, she's mad, but just seems a little over the top.

Let's see if there's a season 3 and how they resolve all of this.

Disappointing ending

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with another review about the ending. Especially with the character Cal. The father of Issac- that was predictable. I really enjoyed this season otherwise. It was so good to have Sweet Magnolias back.

Will there be a Season 3????
revba21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The twists and turns developed in the last10 mins of this Season 2 Finale, I would still like to see how the writers will develop them in a Season 3. They were awkward especially with the proposal of marriage extended to Helen out of the blue based on he not wanting to have children but now he does????

It is refreshing to view a clean, humor filled and faith based show such as Sweet Magnolias. I do hope Netflix bring this series back for another season.

The writers must come up with some good solid reasons that make sense out of the cliffhangers.

Perfectly good series ruined in the last 10 minutes
flu-rry6 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why did you have to turn such a sweet, light and fun series into a soapy, cheap drama in the last episode? So many things happened in the last 10 minutes that made me question if the third season might even be worth watching.

Having a stranger come to town, slashing tires and attacking Annie, having Cal lose it and punch a guy that suddenly turned from being the sweetest fan into obsessed and unpredictable. Not to mention Ryan's sudden proposal to Helen, being ready to start a family completely out of the blue.

I really love this series and love the twists and turns it has, but this episode just fell short for me. I understand the need for a cliffhanger since it's the end of a season, but this was an understatement.

Way too much going on.

This show generally tries to follow too many plotlines but this finale especially had too much. I understand they need to draw in interest for the second season but I think seeing how some of the more major stories develop would be enough without bringing in two unhinged new characters at the very end. It totally doesn't match the tone of the show.

As for the kids, let them be kids. They are such a sweet spot of the show, but are now all tangled up in intergenerational romance drama too!

HORRIBLE season finale to a great 1.5 seasons
tiffanygrace876 July 2022
This show was pretty dang good for the first season and a half. After that it just gets 110% ridiculous. Maybe the writers got bored and just decided to go full blown unrealistic? Who knows.

But the cherry on top to the demise of this show was the last 10 mins of this finale. I mean... come on. Everyone watching this understands this is female garble, and I liked the dumb "hallmark" sort of feel to this show. However as I previously stated.. the last 10 mins just turned this cutesy show to annoying and frustrating. I like being entertained by shows, not frustrated at the story line and desperate grabs of drama to leave the feeling of a "cliff hanger".

Save your eyes and just watch the first 1.5 seasons of this show. The rest is trash.
