A pop-up restaurant in Toronto is trying to change the way people think about HIV.
For two days — Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 — people who dined at June’s HIV+ Eatery were served food cooked only by those who have the virus (with a little help and training from chef Matt Basile of the Lisa Marie bar in Toronto). The purpose of the restaurant was to show people that HIV is not as easily transmitted as some may think — and especially not through food.
The 14 chefs wore aprons with phrases like “Judge the cooking, not the cook” and “Think you can get HIV from food?...

Alright guys. It was another eventful day in the Big Brother 19 house. Jessica once again started another big argument. This time, it was with Josh. Of course, her lover boy Cody interjected himself into the fight once it started up and some awful threats were made. At one point, Cody charged after Josh in the backyard. It was freaking crazy! Let me take you back to where it all started. At about 1pm Pacific time on the live feeds, Paul and Josh were joking about Matt being the cause of the California drought. Then Jessica decided to say a smart remark to Josh by asking him if he can spell drought. Josh went ahead and spelled it for her. She responded by saying, “Wow, I’m proud of you. I’ m pretty sure I could stump him on 100 other words. So, not to worried about it.” Josh came back with,...

Kate Beckinsale isn’t just a timeless beauty with storied roles in array of classic films, she’s also a prolific social media over-sharer. Kate Beckinsale‘s 18-year-old daughter Lily is all grown up — and she looks exactly like her famous mom.
In honor of Mother’s Day, Beckinsale shared a photo of Lily (her daughter with ex Michael Sheen) looking like a total bombshell at her prom in a strapless red gown. The photo gave us fashion flashbacks to some of Beckinsale’s most memorable red carpet moments. Most of Aaron Sorkin’s professional life has been spent making political debates — both personal and public — into poetically entertaining and informative exchanges. In “The West Wing,” he did it every week. Josh and Toby would fight it out until one was proven the victor or a compromise was reached. In “The Newsroom,” Will McAvoy would lambaste politicians, and his reports would often lead to various ethical conversations with his staff.
The point is, Aaron Sorkin knows a thing or two about winning a debate, and our current presidential candidates could learn from his work. We’ve examined the most pertinent examples of debate procedures, and the points below represent key strategies for winning a verbal battle. Apply them wisely.

We are only a day away from the premiere of American Horror Story season six, and we still have no official confirmation of what this season’s theme will be. It has been thought that this upcoming season will be called “The Mist,” but no one knows for sure.
In the meantime, we have seen a whole host of teasers and promos for the season, and each one contains a little something different (some being more relevant to the theme than others). The latest spot, titled “Bite me” contains a lovely little arachnid with a wide vocal range (you can check it out here).
In anticipation of this upcoming season, I have decided to list some possible themes that I believe could be the focus of this upcoming season.

FX has released yet another great promo spot for American Horror Story Season 6. This spot is called "Bite Me," and if you're afraid of spiders, I suggest you don't watch it. I also included another promo spot featuring Lady Gaga’s brand new single “Perfect Illusion.”
There's still no official word on what the theme of this next season will be, but according to a printed copy of TV Guide (via EW) the series will be called American Horror Story: The Mist. There's no confirmation of that title, but I'm sure we'll find out soon.
According to FX CEO John Landgraf, a lot of these promo spots are accurate to what the season will be about, but there are also a lot of them that are "misdirects." One of the promo spots previously released is called "The Mist," so there's a chance that could be a real promo showing us the real theme.

It seems that every few weeks there’s a new animated feature at the movie theater. This is quite different from my youth, when only Disney made full-length cartoons (that were distributed in Ohio) and they took three to four years to produce.
It seems that every television channel has at least some animated content, a lot of it aimed at grown-ups. This is quite different from my youth, when all cartoons were for kids, and were on networks on Saturday mornings and local channels, maybe for an hour after school.
We can have an interesting conversation about why animation grew up and expanded its audience. Was it the influence of anime? The Baby Boomers loving cartoons so much we refuse to give them up, just like with comic books? The (relative) inexpensive production compared to feature films, especially as computers improved?
Who cares why? More animation means more choices...

It’s always a treat when our favorite stars read the nasty messages fans write about them online, and last night (December 16) “Jimmy Kimmel Live” served up another round of “Celebrity Mean Tweets.”
Probably the most brash moment came when Sarah Paulson recited, “Sarah Paulson is annoying when she yells… or cries… or talks… or exists,” and replied with, "Bite me, motherf**ker. That’s how I feel about that. You can bite me in the f**king a**hole."
Meanwhile, Jordana Brewster read, "Jordana Brewster is the next Meryl Streep. If Meryl Streep was the worst actress in the world,” and Kurt Russell found out his face “is made of aged denim.” Check the clip!

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" posted its 9th edition of Mean Tweets on Wednesday night, featuring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sean Penn, Liv Tyler, Elizabeth Banks, Daniel Radcliffe, Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Michael B Jordan, Key and Peele, Julianna Margulies, Colin Farrell, Jordana Brewster, Kurt Russell, Viola Davis, Matthew Perry, Lake Bell, and Sarah Paulson.
Not to encourage more insults on Twitter, but "Tic Tacs throwing gang signs" is actually a pretty creative way to diss someone's teeth. Props for that one, "Mean" tweeter. Now use your powers for good.
Kirsten Dunst got the tooth diss, but she didn't really seem to mind. Most of the other insults were, well, more insulting. (Although Liv Tyler's burn was really to her father.) The overall takeaway is to tweet about people's ugly, old fart faces if you want to get a showcase on TV.

Who is Charles?
That's the question Pretty Little Liars fans face after Tuesday night's (literally!) electrifying spring finale.
Though we never saw his face, we know he's "A." According to the anagram from a few episodes ago, his last name is Dilaurentis. And based on the old film footage showing Mrs. D (Andrea Parker) playing with two little blond boys, we're pretty confident this is author Sara Shepard's twin twist come to life. But it's not Alison (Sasha Pieterse) who has the secret, evil doppelgänger – it's her brother, Jason (Drew Van Acker).

With a show as loaded with lazy cop tropes as "The Mysteries of Laura," it's tempting to bust out a few TV critic clichés in kind. Maybe I could suggest that the series — whose promos all suggest that the chief mystery is how in the world a woman could possibly be both a cop and a mom(*) at the same time — is in the running for the best new fall show of 1984. (*) Linda Holmes of NPR has dubbed the show "CopMom, MomCop," and her catchy alternate theme song is probably a better critique of the show than the one you're reading here. But that would be unfair to 1984, whose best new fall show was "The Cosby Show." More importantly, that season led to the first Outstanding Drama Series Emmy win for "Cagney & Lacey," a cop show that dealt with all sorts of questions about the life of a female police...

The producers of animated horror thriller Malevolent, the latest twisted picture from Coverage Ink Films, have just checked in with the first casting news and artwork! Read on for all the details and eye candy you need to animate your day!
From the Press Release
Morena Baccarin ("Homeland," "Firefly"), Ray Wise ("Twin Peaks," Robocop), and Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween) have joined the cast of Malevolent.
In Malevolent a young woman must defeat her powerful, evil father in order to save herself and her siblings in this psychologically trippy, genre-bending Saw meets Groundhog Day gorer. Malevolent also happens to be animated, combining styles from the world of motion comics and anime. The unique plot and style drew the attention of Baccarin, Wise, and Moseley.
“We’re honored and excited to be working with such talented stars whose performances we’ve followed for years,” says executive producer and co-writer Tanya Klein.
From the Press Release
Morena Baccarin ("Homeland," "Firefly"), Ray Wise ("Twin Peaks," Robocop), and Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween) have joined the cast of Malevolent.

Animated horror films are few and far between, but occasionally someone gets a great idea for one – see Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - that makes us remember the genre can be more than just Alvin And the Chipmunks Meet whichever movie monster happens to need a paycheck at the time. It’s too early to say whether Malevolent is going to be one of those diamonds in the rough – but initial information about the pic is promising.
Today, we’ve learned that Homeland actress Morena Baccarin has signed on to lend her voice to the lead villain in the film. Malevolent centers on a “young woman (Dani Lennon) who must defeat her powerful, evil father in order to save herself and her siblings.” It was scripted by Jim Cirile and Tanya C. Klein (Liberator), and directed by Jason Axinn (Bite Me).

As we've seen in movies like Twilight and Near Dark, choosing to embark on an intimate relationship with a vampire isn't exactly the easiest path to take in life. There's that whole thing about them having an insatiable appetite for your blood, and as if that wasn't bad enough, you've gotta deal with getting old and crusty, while they stay the same age forever.
That said, there are advantages to having a vampire lover. In the mood to crack open a cold one, but you don't have a bottle opener handy? Have no fear, because your vampire's teeth can do the trick better than any bottle opener ever could. Okay, so the negatives far outweigh the positives, but you get what I'm trying to say here.

Couple things right out of the gate, Dance Moms nation. Today’s recap will be screen-capture-free, because the events of its last twenty minutes are currently a matter of litigation in the New York City courts, so no press screeners were made available. So much the better if you ask me. There’s not much that happened this evening that I’d care to commemorate in pictures or in words. In light of the weekend’s news of Maryen Lorrain Miller’s death, I was really hoping we might have something, anything I could write positively about — even though I knew better from the … Continue reading →

The CW drama is running an attack ad against the ABC Family hit — but ‘A’ isn’t going down without a fight. Which show will You watch live tonight?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been dreading this day for weeks. Beginning tonight, two of my favorite shows — ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars and The CW’s The Originals – will both be broadcast at 8 p.m. Et, a phenomenon that hasn’t occurred since Pll‘s Halloween episode aired in Oct. 2013.
And to make matters worse, both shows are quite literally fighting for our attention.

Is there a feud starting Tuesday nights at 8 p.m.?
New CW drama "The Originals" launched a pre-emptive strike Tuesday (Jan. 14), as it was revealed that the show is airing a commercial on ABC Family during "Pretty Little Liars" that tells viewers who are sick of "A" and his/her antics to change the channel to "The Originals."
"Pll's" resident villain "A" has responded with the above photo featuring one of its patented "A" messages: "Bite me, #LiarsUnite, #UnOriginal."
Get it? Because "The Originals" is about vampires?
The next 10 weeks will mark the first time the two young adult dramas will air head-to-head for any length of time. They previously shared one common airing during "Pretty Little Liars" 2013 Halloween episode, which saw "Pll" beat the vampire drama by almost a million viewers.

Going up
Charlotte Olympia Bite Me Kitty slippers More treat than trick, which is how Halloween fashion should be.
Isabelle Huppert We do love an elegant French actor of a certain age, but Isabelle in particular is having a moment. The evidence? Wearing Givenchy on the red carpet, and appearing on the cover of the new Acne Paper.
The Célfie T-shirt A power couple of fashion references. Knocks the Homies out of the park.
The Me + Em leather biker jacket The biker is a modern classic. This one will do you proud.
Claudie Pierlot's Mexico jumper Has more than a shade of Stella Tennant at Chanel. Makes sense when you know Claudie Pierlot comes from the same stable as contemporary French brands par excellence Sandro and Maje.

The first NCIS episode without Ziva was fast-paced and still interesting, which is hardly surprising, given the quality of writing for this show.
"Under the Radar" introduced us to a spitfire of an agent in the person of Vera Strickland (played by Roma Maffia Nip/Tuck fame), who was a former partner of Mike Franks. She assisted the team in the investigation of a Navy Lieutenant who was planning to kill his air school classmates out of spite and revenge because he washed out of the running for Navy flight competency.
Strickland's charm came in two parts: her ability and willingness to shoot from the hip - loudly - and her ability to make Gibbs laugh. That last one was startling, as we're not used to seeing the all-knowing impatient agent even grin very much.
I think her presence in this episode - which will likely be her only appearance...

Bite Me is a great web series on Machinima. It follows three roommates as they face an outbreak of zombies in Los Angeles. It’s a moment they’ve been training for with constant zombie game play and zombie movie education. There are two seasons of Bite Me currently. I hope there will be more. I had several laugh-out-loud moments.

Dean better thank his lucky stars he’s still in one piece, because everyone around him is falling apart. At least, that was the case in this week’s Supernatural.
Let’s start with sweaty Sam, who continued to suffer the effects of the trials and seemed to get worse with every passing minute. When he wasn’t losing consciousness from a dangerously high fever or coughing up a lung, he also had another bizarre side-effect that had him recalling very early childhood memories with perfect clarity. (Dean reading to him as a kid and one family trip with a farting donkey.

It looks as if Resident Evil will join Halo, Call of Duty, and Super Mario Bros in the growing list of popular video games that have received a gritty YouTube reboot. The likeabosstvnow channel has released a trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, a dark adaptation of the zombie-filled franchise set to release on February 28th. Welcome To Raccoon City will follow three of the series most popular protagonists: Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine. Director Jay Lee has also hinted at an interactive element, imploring viewers to "Watch as three different story lines unfold before you! Better yet…you get to choose who to follow!" If the trailer is any indication, we can expect plenty of dark corridors and shadowy assassins along each path. The series' cast is a laundry list of notable web creators. Travis Richey and Helenna Santos-Levy, both of whom currently appear...

After the success of True Blood's collaboration with Tarte cosmetics last June, the HBO hit is back with even more vampy makeup, this time partnering with Hsn.
Hsn's full line of True Blood-inspired products is much more extensive than last year's collaboration (which only yielded three products), and will feature everything from nail polish to perfume.
Related: Vamp it Up with 'True Blood' Makeup
A highlight is the Forsaken Set, which includes both a scented, deep red shade nail polish by Deborah Lippman called Let It Bleed, and Bite Me lipstick, a blackberry lip color Lippman tells InStyle "beckons a vampire's bite." Bite Me lipstick also marks Lippman's (who's well-known for her pricey, color-saturated nail polish hues) first-ever lip product.

Mark your calendar Trubies! Hsn's entire collection will be available on Hsn and hsn.com starting August 9th.

Josh Levin wrote this great review of Zombieland for Slate back in 2009. His thesis states that Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, and Emma Stone’s romp through the undead, Bill Murray’s mansion, and the Southwestern United States is so good because the action unspools less like a movie and more like a movie made by a gamer who’s obsessed with first-person shooters. Here’s an excerpt: Zombie cinema has already been sliced into such thin micro-genres— zombie pole dancers! zombie Nazis! — that auteurs of the undead should probably stop striving for originality. And yet Zombieland is something new, perhaps because it borrows from another medium. While the movie may not have been hatched inside a PlayStation, Zombieland reveals why every video-game movie ever made has been horrendous. Games, particularly the kind that get optioned by Hollywood, are supposed to be fun. Movies based on games, however, take themselves altogether too seriously,...

We all have our favorite method of dispatching the undead. So when I recently chatted with Ryan Welsh, the star of the zom-com series Bite Me (season 2 of which began airing this week on FEARnet), I asked him to name his top 5 zombie-killing weapons of choice. Find out what made Welsh's list after the jump. Bite Me star Ryan Welsh's Top 5 zombie-killing weapons are: "1.) I feel like a good thing to have on hand, and I actually fought for it a little bit in season 2, would be dual hammers. The kind you keep on you belt loop would be good to have, because you never run out of ammo with a hammer. You can move them quickly; you can wield one in each hand, and do some serious damage that way. It's about as much...
