Decent story, but the highlight is Lisa Faulkner as Anna Fulford
trixie3019 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I will state right up front that after I saw "The Murdoch Identity," I really hoped they would bring Lisa Faulkner on as either a full-time supporting or frequently recurring character. She is an absolute delight in the part; the character of Anna is charming and fun.

I was thrilled to see her back, even though she was engaged to another. Darn, William sure has trouble with women! The chemistry between them is warm and genuine, being both amusing and sweet. I was bummed when they wrote her completely out in season 5, though it was nice for William to have a final adventure with Anna. I kind of wished that William had ended up with Anna.

This episode involves organized crime in New York and is rather convoluted, but it's still enjoyable.

Gun silencer, gypsies, politics and more

Warning: Spoilers
A man is found dead on a train. Shot at close range and nobody heard the shot. Dr Ogden finds little pieces of medal in the wound along with the bullet.

Anna a former girlfriend of Murdoch shows up at the police station. The man she is going to marry left the apartment and she has not heard from him since. They were on their way to be married in another city.

Murdoch gets the description of her boyfriend and it is similar to a man found dead on the train. She sees the body but it is not her boyfriend. Later she is called to meet someone that has something to do with her boyfriend and she is a target for a hit-man.

Brackenreid has two problems. He is encouraged and controlled by a man that is running his campaign for Alderman. He also has to deal with house thiefs that he believes are from a gypsy camp that settled on city land for awhile.

Murdock invents something that like a cylinder around a hand gun that muffles the sound of a bullet being shot. Murdoch has a name for his own invention but Officer Crabtree calls it a "silencer". Murdoch believes something like this was used to muffle the sound of the gun that killed the man on the train.

So lots of questions and answers. Inspector Brackenreid finds out who is burglarizing the houses. It is the son and friends of his rich campaign donator. His campaign manager does not want the kids arrested. Brackenreid tells them he is a cop first and does not want to be bribed by these men and they are an inch away from getting arrested. He tells them both to get lost.

Murdoch finds out he is dealing with an Italian mob who use a funeral home to send dead bodies with a false bottom in the casket for another dead body. The group comes from Sicily and is dealing with US counterfeit money.

Lots of crime, lots of answers.
