Captivating story from the first episode and it got me hooked for sure BUT. The problem is you get 50mins. Or so per episode and half of that time feels like just a waste of time, call it filler if you want. Change the original story, build up characters etc. I get that but there's no point of dragging something so much. I feel that every tv series I like there's a problem with wasted time because at the end of the season you need to wait 2 years for the next part of the story. I can think of at least 5 tv series that had amazing story, characters and so on, but didn't make it because of the reasons I've mentioned above. At the same time for the past few years we have seen some spectacular tv series with one season or separate stories for seasons. True detective was the cherry of them all, especially the first season. Also mini series and so on. You have a good story or even an idea of the story if you're going to change thing by your own, ok, but what is the point of making so many unnecessary moments. You have 30-60 mins per episode, make them all worth watching. Yes, at the start of the series you can give just crumbs of the story, plot w/e but at some point if you don't give answers it's not going to be enough, enough to simply keep the attention of the viewer. With all that being said I enjoy the series but keeping in mind how many episodes are left until the end of the season I doubt that it's going to feel like it was worth watching at the end. I hope I'm wrong.
