Throughout film history there are stories of projects that never got made. Someone read a script but it got lost. Financing fell through at the last minute. This guy said something about that guy's mom and they will never work together ever again. For any number of reasons ideas emerge, we get excited, then projects disappear into the ether and are never heard from again. Proof of concept reels turn the World on fire only to be never seen or heard from again. Then there are whispers, stories over drinks at the pub, or games of 'who knows the coolest shit that has never been made?'. The new documentary series Untold Horror wants to take these stories out from local folklore and into our...

Piranhaconda... Legendary producer Roger Corman, b-movie impresario Jim Wynorski, and Syfy have birthed a half-anaconda/half-piranha monstrosity. Will it be the heir apparent to Sharktopus? See for yourself.

Distributor American World Pictures has unveiled the trailer for Piranhaconda today. If there’s an aspect about it I find disappointing from watching the trailer, it’s that the Piranhaconda just looks to be a funky looking giant snake that slithers around chomping people and doesn’t appear to make much use of its aquatic or crushing abilities the same way Sharktopus capitalized on the notice of a predatory shark with octopus tentacles. Regardless, it looks like it could be goofy fun.

This is an early look at an upcoming post-apocalyptic vampire thriller titled Vampyre Nation. This film is from the man who made Weather Wars and Monster Wolf, Todor Chapkanov. Vampyre Nation stars Andrew Lee Potts ("Primeval"), Neil Jackson (Push) and Ben Lambert. In the future, vampires and humans live in a cold war atmosphere, where a synthetic blood substitute keeps the bloodsuckers at bay, temporarily. This truce will last for only so long.
Chapkanov's previous films Weather Wars and Monster Wolf were both shown on the SyFy Network and this title will also likely show on this channel, in 2012. This director also completed work on Miami Magma, which was shown on television. Have a look at all the details for this production below, courtesy of UFO International.
The synopsis for Vampyre Nation:
"Bucharest, Romania: the not-too-distant future, but an entirely different city. The human population is dwindling. The vampire population,...

Mid-July is going to be a good time for DVD and Blu-ray releases featuring people getting eaten alive. Dinocroc and Supergator take time out between rounds to devour anyone in their path. Native American lycan legends go on the prowl in Maneater and Monster Wolf. Most importantly, the Australian Open Water-ish shark thriller The Reef finally surfaces on American shores.
The people chomping begins on July 12th when Anchor Bay releases the Roger Corman produced, Jim Wynorski directed, Syfy original creature feature Dinocroc vs. Supergator (review here). The late David Carradine makes one of his final appearances in this monstrous smackdown that sees genetically engineered reptilian rivals escaping their confines and chomping their way through a series of scientists, tourists, and bikini babes in Hawaii. The actors chew the scenery almost as much as the monsters.

One's an intense movie tough guy. The other is a former swimsuit model. The producer is a legend who most recently birthed a Sharktopus. The director is a b-movie kingpin who most recently pitted Dinocroc vs. Supergator. Michael Madsen and Rachel Hunter have now signed on to star in the Roger Corman-produced, Jim Wynorski-directed Piranhaconda. The Syfy gods are smiling tonight.
Matchflick News brings word that production of the mutant piranha/anaconda monster movie Piranhaconda is ramping up to begin production. Former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Rachel Hunter (pictured right, who will also be seen later this year in the Syfy disaster epic Miami Magma) will play the female lead, a character named "Thalia". Odds are she'll be the one to slay the carnivorous fish-reptile. Kill Bill badass Michael Madsen has been cast as a character named "Dr. Lovegrove". With the doctor moniker before his name, odds are...
