Two individuals with diagnosed deadly food allergies are depicted, neither of whom carries an epinephrine pen. During the trial, Pete eats a piece of shrimp in order to make a point about allergic reactions. Nick injects him with epinephrine, which cures him. Anyone with a diagnosed deadly food allergy carries an emergency pen. And, any medical provider or allergic individual knows the emergency injection is only a temporary "fix". It provides time for the individual to get EMT care or to an emergency room. The allergen is still in the individual's system, and it must be neutralized.
