The Grammy Awards are staying put at CBS for another 10 years. The network, which has carried the music industry's top awards show since 1973, has signed a new 10-year deal with the Recording Academy to be the Grammy's TV home through 2021. With the pact, which includes a series of 2-hour Grammy specials, all major awards shows are locked in for the better part of the next decade at their long-time networks. Earlier this year, ABC signed a six-year extension to carry the Oscars through 2020, and the Big 4 broadcast networks just closed a new 8-year deal for the Primetime Emmy Awards. Last fall, NBC moved in to secure the Golden Globe Awards through 2018, signing a new 8-year deal with Dick Clark Prods., but that deal is now the subject of litigation between Dcp and the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. Of the smaller awards shows, the Tony Awards will air on CBS at...

Lady Gaga's dramatic entrance and performance at The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards last weekend is still the talk of the music world - and the singer broke down the thoughts behind her vessel and striking stage show to Access Hollywood.
"I wanted to experience a birth on stage. I wanted to, without describing the performance art piece too much, because I would like the world to experience it on their own," she told Access on Thursday in New York City. "It's never to late to say, 'I may have been born one way, but I choose to be born ...

Predictable they were not, and this year's Grammys were actually more reminiscent of a live variety show than an awards presentation. With only ten statues presented during the show's entire three and a half hour run, (the first hour yielded only one, which went to Train for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group), the show's format has morphed into what some would call a televised concert of live performances and tributes, with an award or two thrown in for posterity. Truth be told, only a handful of top honors were announced on air, with the vast majority of winners revealed prior to the show's live broadcast. The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards (TV) opened with a tribute to Aretha Franklin, who watched from home due to recent health issues. The homage to the Queen of Soul featured Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams, and Martina McBride performing...

Pop sensation Justin Bieber apparently has to settle on only being a nominee at this year's Grammy Awards. Coming to the awards' 53rd annual show on Sunday, February 13 with a chance of winning two categories, the teen heartthrob walked out with empty hands at the end of the night.
The "Baby" hitmaker was unable to secure the title of Best New Artist. In a surprising outcome, he didn't lose to Drake, Mumford and Sons or Florence & the Machine, but to jazz singer Esperanza Spalding. Esperanza, who was just as surprised as the audience with the win, said on her acceptance speech, "Wow. Thank you to the academy for even nominating me in the category."
16-year-old Justin also has to admit defeat in the category of Best Pop Vocal Album. The accolade instead went to Lady GaGa for her "The Fame Monster" effort. Upon receiving the kudo, the "Born This Way" singer said,...

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards took place Sunday evening and many of the most buzzed about moments came courtesy of an unusual source — Hollywood superstars.
And dominating the post-show combination was a duo of crossover artists: Justin Bieber and “The Karate Kid” star Jaden Smith, who came together to perform a high energy version of “Never Say Never,” the title song from Bieber’s current hit concert film. The rendition by the tween heartthrobs had the audience on their feet, especially Jaden’s dad Will Smith, who was caught on camera cheering on the pair with a shout of “That’s my baby!”
Also making news at this year’s Grammys was Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow who, surprisingly, was not singing her hit single from the film “Country Strong” but instead performed a duet of the viral smash “(The Song Otherwise Known as) Forget You” along with singer/songwriter...

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards has officially been kicked off at Los Angeles' Staples Center on Sunday night, February 13. The opening performance, which is a tribute to Aretha Franklin, is introduced by LL Cool J. The likes of Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams and Martina McBride took the center stage.
"I especially want to thank all of you who took the time to send me get well cards and flowers, beautiful flowers, and most importantly your prayers during my time of hospitalization," Aretha said of her absence at the awards show. "I wish I could have been with you tonight." She added, "But next year, Ok?"

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards have welcomed the guests at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 13. Tapped to be a presenter, Selena Gomez showed up in a J. Mendel Liquid Silver Lightweight Panne Velvet Bias Cut Slip Gown with Chiffon Inserts. Her long hair was styled with wavy look.
Rihanna, who battled bronchitis and laryngitis just days before her scheduled performance at the Grammys, has finally made it to the event. She wore a white revealing dress by Jean Paul Gaultier which made her look like a layer cake or a Christmas decoration.
LeAnn Rimes and Kim Kardashian also had stunning dresses. The country music singer who is among the nominees that night donned a v-neck gown by Reem Acra. Meanwhile, the reality TV star showed some skin in a bronze frock by Kaufman Franco, joking that her "whole butt" almost "wouldn't fit in" the dress.

The Grammys are on tonight, which gives us all another chance to realize that when it comes to certain genres of music the Academy of Recording Sciences has no credibility anymore. However, I will grant that Ke$ha managed to have one of the best selling albums of the year (Why?!?) and did not receive any Grammy nominations so there's a slim chance someone is paying attention. Not the programming director, though, who decided to schedule the divine Janelle Monáe to perform on stage with Bruno Mars and B.o.B. (tangentially: that individual's name always makes me think of Outkat's "B.O.B" and then I get excited and then super disappointed in a split second. That kind of emotional whiplash is good for no one.) I'll be watching, though I can't promise I'll be in a good mood about it. Here's your Sunday night TV:

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony has not even officially begun, but with over 100 categories being recognized this year — from Best New Artist to Best Improvised Jazz Solo — there's simply not enough time to squeeze everything into the three-hour telecast.
That's why a slew of awards have already been handed out. Preshow winners include Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jay-z, Bruno Mars, the Black Keys and more.

The Grammys are Sunday night, and they promise plenty of star power, unexpected duets and actual awards. As for who will win big, well, you'll just have to tune in. It's Eminem's Night It's been a big year for Eminem, who's nominated for a whopping 10 awards, including top honors Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Will Sunday solidify his amazing comeback? The rapper has been nominated in the past but has been seen as a controversial choice. Will the odds be in his favor this year?...

The 53rd annual Grammy Awards air Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and while most will be tuning in to see if Eminem can capitalize on his industry-leading 10 nominations or catch Lady Gaga performing "Born This Way" for the first time, we'll be watching to see how all our bets panned out.
See, we love gambling nearly as much as we love the Grammys (and that's a lot), and, with the big show just a few days away, we figured it was time to place our bets in the Big Four categories: Album, Record and Song of the Year, plus Best New Artist. And to help insure our wagering success, we've once again gone to two of the best oddsmakers in the universe — Ladbrokes and Bodog — to get their take on music's biggest night.
