- A woman tries to seduce her husband while wearing a somewhat revealing outfit. They kiss and lay on top each other in bed, but get interrupted before any intercourse can happen.
- A teenage girl jokes about "getting a tattoo on her bosom".
- A man makes lewd comments, including an implied STD joke, at two women in a bar.

- A woman slaps her husband in the face during an argument.
- A kid is bullied by two other kids throughout, including pushing and tackling.
- A man is beaten up in a bar brawl off-screen. We see him with a nose cast and a blackened eye in the next scene.
Profanity

- Instead of saying actual swears, the kids say lines such as "you B!" and "you A-hole!". They also say "what the heck" a lot through the film.
- Adults use terms such as "hell" and "damn" sometimes.

- The protagonist's father is seen drinking beer a lot throughout the movie, and is heavily implied to be an alcoholic.
- The protagonist's mother is implied to be addicted to sleeping medication.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The scenes of the turmoil in the family is played off very realistically, showing what could easily be considered abusive parenting. As well as mistreating and neglecting their children, the parents also constantly fight with each other, including mild violent acts. This could be very distressing to children, especially if they have experienced anything like this themselves.

- We see a blood splatter on a car, with a kid asking if they hit a deer. We later find out the blood comes from them hitting his cat with the car off-screen.
- The protagonist's sister beats up the bullies towards the end of the movie.
