• Film Brain : This remake was clearly made by people who didn't understand what Get Carter was about; crucially, that revenge doesn't work, which it does in this movie! Stallone is miscast, and the supporting cast don't really get enough to do, they've muddled the story by taming Carter, and adding tacked-on action scenes that hinder the story rather than drive it forward. But worst of all is the direction; it's full of Michael Bay-style tricks, and the film's been edited to an inch of its life. Even if you haven't seen the original, it's still a dull, badly-paced movie. And shame on Michael Caine for appearing on this piss stain on his legacy; he should've known better.
