This documentary discusses the positive influence of the Latin culture such as music, folklore, the universal sport of soccer, philanthropy and the many dialects of the Spanish language. And on the other hand it focuses on the negative impact of the American culture on the Spanish speaking people here in the United States. Examples of racism are seen with comments like "who is Native American" or "who was really here first". Several of the actors either complained of the anglicization of their name or the loss of a tongue and even the hate they receive when mixing Spanish and English together in conversation. I personally have several questions for the actors. One being, if I, a white male were to move to Latin America would my name be latinized? Would I now be Joan? Juan? Or still John? To me it seems that assimilation is universal wherever you go. And secondly why is everyone else responsible for the loss of someone else's native language. For me more responsibility should be taken on their own part and stop blaming others.
