Asura's and the Hindu gods

Asura needs to fight shiva and the game should continue being like God of war.

a cinematic experience

Asura's wrath story revolves around.... you guessed it Asura. It tells the story like a TV show, unraveling the story through episodes. It includes a lot of QTE or quick time events but it never seems like it's too much.

The story is about a demigod named Asura who was betrayed by his fellow demigods. His wife killed and his daughter kidnapped, the demigods ravaging the planet and using his daughter Asura plans revenge.

The fighting in the game is far from great but can be overlooked since the story and QTE are top notch. Boss battles shine in this game, they feel epic and will leave you begging for more. Character design is incredible and the voice-overs fit perfectly, granted I only played the game with the original Japanese voice-overs. If I had 1 critique it would be the true ending, not going to say more than that because I don't want to spoil it. 9/10

Asura's Wrath: Overrated as hell
Platypuschow21 February 2018
Asura's Wrath is critically acclaimed, it's one of those titles that despite never getting a sequel became a cult classic. I personally however don't see the appeal, in the slightest.

It certainly has a unique sense of style, the way it's constructed is masterful and because of this it's like watching an anime. Alas this type of over the top storytelling doesn't do anything for me.

Then there is the action, button bashing at its finest. Our multi-armed protagonist is not only overpowered but deeply annoying in the cutscenes.

So with an unlikeable lead, mindless gameplay and a story I couldn't get behind it really didn't stand much of a chance.

I don't think Asura's Wrath is a poor game, I simply think it's more of a cinematic experience and a second rate one at that.

The Good:

Great sense of style

Certainly original

The Bad:

Button basher

Non-sensical plot

Things I Learnt From This Game:

Cult doesn't mean good
