In the makeshift hospital during the rebellion, field doctors are seen heating their instruments over a flame to sterilize them before operating on wounded fighters. This scene takes place in 1832. Sterilizing instruments before surgery was not a practice until the 1860s.
Valjean says he will make it out of the rebellion alive, that it is, "a piece of cake for someone who escaped a prison camp." In this adaptation, Valjean never escaped a prison camp. After serving 19 years in prison, he was released. In the novel upon which it is based, Valjean was re-arrested after Fantine's death and escaped prison to collect Cosette from the Thenardiers. This adaptation omits that second arrest and thus his assertion here makes no sense.
