The messaging was sweet, but it was a lot of telling and not a lot of showing. There was little narrative about the struggles Jean faced, and rather was 80% of people talking about how "inspiring and amazing she was". I would have liked to see the pushback and conflict she faced as she rose to her position. The documentary had a clear theme, but felt shallow in its direction.
Additionally, the interview felt extremely repetitive after half an hour, and the scarce amount of reenactment scenes had subpar acting (The one who played Jean was by far the most competent.)
My friend stated it best: "It felt like the trailer for her wiki page."
