Too Many Balls in the Air
Hitchcoc24 August 2023
The show begins with a reality. Hasselbo (sp?) wants to be Prime Minister and is beginning the process of taking the current government down (Brigette). As is alway the problem, there is an inciting incident. In this case it's the environmentalist guy, who wants to lower auto emissions, but who owns a Cadillac and took it on a long trip the past summer. The press goes after him and he decides to be done with politics. His family is hassled and, since he is Muslim, comes under racist attacks. The daughter begins to suffer panic attacks and her mother blows off her problems until things come to a head. There are so many things to keep track of. Katrine is engaged to become a spin doctor for the new coalition, but there are roadblocks. Oh, and good old Kasper has more messed up encounters with his love interest. He wants what he wants; not giving in for a second to her needs. Decent episode, but not best.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode the family scenes are a HUGE drag. I had to fast-forward through most of them.

I'm not interested in watching long scenes of Laura and Magnus being mollycoddled by their guilty parents. We're talking about kids who get three squares a day, lots of clothes and toys. And yet they STILL complain to Brigitte.

I also had to fast-forward through Kasper talking to Katrine. That corrupt relationship is SO old now.

It was good to see that Katrine DOES have a conscience after all and has walked away from two jobs rather than give in to power-hungry, unscrupulous people. What also spoke highly of Katrine was her willingness to go to bat for Hanne to be employed.

A surprise twist that actually worked was Sanne reappearing to take the place of Jytte, the highly "competent" office secretary.

I only gave this 3 stars because it has devolved into a Danish soap opera.
