I'm responding to the other reviewer. I think one needs to look at the show as a portrayal of real people. So Brigitte is a bad parent. Right. Laura is a liar. Right. That is so simplistic. The portrayal of these characters is realistic. Someone needs to tell Laura not to lie. Right? Brigitte should drop international treaties and the work of the country so she can sit at home. She has hired a young woman who is a phone call away. Laura is ill. That's a fact. So don't judge people who are ill. If you have cancer, you should just stop complaining, and cure it yourself! Sad as this situation is, there are people all over trying to lookout for the interests of humanity. As portrayed, tens of thousands of human beings are being slaughtered. But Brigitte is supposed to sit back and let that happen so she can be a good parent. This was a tense and dramatic episode where winning was so hard. And even at that, we don't know how long it will last.

Warning: Spoilers
Let's take the ending first. It was trite. In the final shot we see Brigitte who has pursued her career at the cost of her family's well-being. And they make sure to have the audio of a newscast going in case you didn't figure out already that Brigitte's victorious on the world stage but a failure in her family life.

Yes, we get the irony. But we've seen that SO many times before. What I think is more interesting is that Laura has become a total liar.

Also of interest is, where has Philip been all this time? He didn't notice something was wrong until it was too late? What good are these parents?
