Deep Purple have announced a “Super Deluxe Edition” of their classic 1972 album Machine Head, featuring new stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes by Dweezil Zappa. In fact, you can hear Zappa’s new mix of the iconic “Smoke on the Water” below.
The box set, which arrives March 29th via Rhino, features a vinyl version of the album with Zappa’s new 2024 remix, in addition to three CDs and a Blu-ray audio disc. The first CD contains the original mix and the Zappa mix. The second one features a concert recorded on March 9, 1972, at the Paris Theatre in London. And the third CD contains a previously unreleased concert recorded in April 1971 at the Montreux Casino in Switzerland.
The Blu-ray audio disc, meanwhile, boasts Zappa’s Dolby Atmos mix, the 1974 US quad mix, and a Dolby 5.1 surround mix of select tracks.

Whether intentional or not, Green Day’s new single “One Eyed Bastard” sounds an awful lot like P!Nk’s 2008 breakup anthem “So What.”
The opening guitar riff of “One Eyed Bastard” features a similar melody to the synth-driven “na-na-na” intro of “So What.” The riff appears throughout the track, which otherwise features lyrics motivated by revenge: “I’m making an offer that you cannot deny/ You won’t be laughing when I’m making you cry.”
It’s worth noting that “So What” shares similarities of its own with hard rock pioneer Deep Purple’s 1970 song “Black Night.”
To hear Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong tell it, however, his inspiration came from an entirely different source. “‘One Eyed Bastard’ started off as just a riff that I had — a shuffle, almost like a Black Sabbath kind of riff,” he said in a statement. “Lyrically, I was just reflecting on bad times in life.

My opinion regarding K-dramas has always been quite negative. Essentially I considered them glorified soap operas, more of a means to create an exportable star system than to produce content of quality. “Squid Game” however, and its unprecedented success as much as its quality in all aspects had me questioning my previous opinion, and thus “forcing” me to check more K-dramas to see if anything has changed. “Black Night”, with its big budget, impressive cast and the combination of sci-fi, dystopia and action seemed like an excellent option. Alas, it turned out to be another title where impression has taken the place of substance. Let us take things from the beginning though.
