I like it

Warning: Spoilers
This is a pretty funny show. I like all the characters. Davenport is a bit hard to believe as an adult genius since has so many emotional issues to overcome but this is rated for a really young audience which lets me out. Leo does get a little tiring as the screw up who continually screws up time after time. He does come through when things get to crunch time though. Since this show is rated TV7 I make allowances for some of the hackneyed, juvenile antics that crop up from time to time. Overall I do enjoy watching the episodes. The computer programmed house butler,Eddy, is a nice sarcastic and jealous addition to the series. Of course I don't know how a program can get jealous but oh well.

The Best Live Action Disney Show Currently Airing
pseudosanity-977354 September 2015
Lab Rats is a pretty great show, especially coming from the live action department of Disney. It's my third favorite Disney XD show, preceded by Gravity Falls and Phineas and Ferb.

The characters, for the most part are well written. Finally: the stereotypical "strong, tall guy" isn't the bully. And while Adam is fairly unintelligent, he has his moments (ex. in Leo vs Evil he comes up a simple solution when everyone else was trying to over-complicate things). The stereotypical "small, nerdy kid" actually has self esteem, and is able to fight. And Bree, the only girl of the main cast, IS NOT A LOVE INTEREST! Sure, she has crushes, but what girl doesn't, and they are such a small part of the show. Even Tasha, part of the supporting cast, is more of a mother figure than a love interest for Donald. Plus she has a career and is able to manage probably the four most destructive kids in the planet. And Janelle, the love interest whose smart, doesn't put up with crap, and isn't even all that romantic, is a breath of fresh air. You go, girls! I will admit that there are some still very poorly written characters. Trent, for example, is your typical football jock bully. Principal Perry is that typical mean authority figure that everyone hates yet has to put up with (although I do like her in the episode Chip Switch). And Mr. Davenport himself is way too self absorbed (although I still like how he is a legitimate authority figure for the kids).

The plot of Lab Rats, which really starts to pick up in Season 2, is great. And I love how some of the first supporting characters you see in season one are seen all the way up into season four (ex Janelle and Principle Perry). (That is one thing that really bothers me about Disney's Kickin' It: Eddie is a main character for the first two seasons, but then he disappears without explanation and everyone else acts like he never even existed.) This show has its fair share of problems, but, all in all, is a pretty great show. If I were showing this to my kids, I would explain why some things shouldn't be tried in real life, and make sure they understand that its portrayal of school is not accurate at all, and then let them enjoy!

This show is action packed, funny ,and also awesome. The best episode was the last one,It was kinda of serious some times and funny. When Bree made Leo kick the wall his leg she said something after and I laughed and laughed. But the Spin off series is good but not as good as the original. It is the best show of all time. When they collabed with Mighty Med I was like 2 of my favorite shows combined. The Eiffel Tower fight was the best one, better than when they fought Giselle and Troy. I like they,re one hour specials they are the best episodes.Escepially over the Edge when they almost fell off the bridge but Leo saved them.Leo is my favorite character. He is the funniest.Come and watch a few episodes.WATCH IT!

Better than average.
VivaanK4 October 2022
Lab Rats is not that Good at being a comedy show it is better at doing action science fiction acts the first season was pretty good. But then at the second season it gets more sci fi then comedy witch I don't mind, it's just that that's not what lab rats is about. The fourth season is defenetly the worst, I did not like this bionic academy it is not what lab rats is about. Tyrel Jackson Williams is okay in this, so is hal sparks but the rest of the cast is just annoying. This show is very bad at showcasing girl power in seasons 2-4, the girls just become an annoying joke. I guess sconce it's an XD Tv show it's fairly better than most Nickelodeon shows.

Don't let the name fool you
junkmailstuff4562 February 2013
Don't let the name fool you. The name makes the show sounds very weird, which it isn't at all. The actors are very good, and the characters are very entertaining. The plots are also very entertaining, and not as predictable as the other Disney shows, which is wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised that Disney made a good show. They've been making some very bad shows lately, but this one was a home run! I'm in love with the characters. Bree is so cute, Adam is such an idiot and everything he says is so unbelievably stupid and funny, and Chase is such a know it all. He reminds me of Justin from Wizards of Waverly Place. Overall, this show was a pleasant surprise, and very different than the rest of the typical Disney shows. I love Lab Rats! Give it a chance! It's so funny!

Lab Rats is over rated.
jasminejax16 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I have very mixed feelings about Lab rats because in season one, Leo was such a nuisance and always ruined things in the lab. Bree, Chase and Adam are such brats and jerks to Leo in the later seasons. Lab rats became very interesting in season 4. I hate chase but his acting is great. Adam was a little bit smarter in season one. Eddy was such a nuisance. The only characters I liked were Tasha and Donald Davenport. I hate Bree who acts all high and mighty. I loved the missions and action only. Principal Perry was tolerable and her acting was awesome. Douglas was another character that was just there. I feel like Tasha didn't have more screen time. Leo was under appreciated a lot because he saved the Lab rats lives so much and they acted like such jerks toward him. In season 4, Chase told Leo that he wasn't ready to become a mentor which I felt like that was just rude because Chase is over emotional, competitive, has no patience and just plain petty. Leo is more capable than Chase will ever be.

Excellent Disney XD show
Catherine_Grace_Zeh18 May 2014
"LAB RATS," in my opinion, is an excellent Disney XD show. I watch it with my 9-year-old nephew from time to time. I always smile and laugh whenever a mishap occurs. One of the funniest mishaps I've ever seen occur on the show is when Leo (Tyrel Jackson Williams) gets shrunk. Another thing that makes this show funny is Donald's (Hal Sparks) comic relief. If you ask me, he always know just what to say and do to make the audience laugh. The writing is always strong, the performances are always good, and everything else about the show is good. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that if you don't have basic digital cable channels, you should get them. Now, in conclusion, I hope this will be on Disney XD for many years yet.

a horrible show
mtrotta664 April 2014
This show is pure garbage and while every immature 5 year old may love it, the show is full of bad acting, immature jokes and the jerk that is principle perry. the show hardly qualifies as a show. Its predictable and repetitive with Adam playing stupid the whole time and all of the jokes about chase being short or Adam being too dumb to understand the jokes chase makes. Chase is a complete jerk, Donald Davenport and Adam are the definitions of overplayed characters with Donald being a complete man child and Adam being a clueless moron, the show also has some offensive anti-feminist jokes aimed at Bree. Kelli Berglund is the only semi-acceptable actor in the main cast. Principle Perry isn't nice on any level between the writers thinking their funny by making perry make offensive and stupid jokes aimed at the student body, such as calling her students meat bags and wastes of oxygen.

The age of stupid.
waynerc2724 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I found this show so bad that I acutely wouldn't let my child watch it for fear she would lose important developmental braincells. The acting is so bad that you can only be amazed at the fact that these people made it on TV somehow. The jokes aren't funny at all.

Who ever came up with the idea thought it would be better to let people act like complete idiots then give them an actual well thought out script to work with. After seeing parts of the show my head actually started to hurt because is was so bad to watch. Any one who actually likes this show probably stopped developing around the age of 3. Disney please stop the stupid.

Awesome
kadiotatsuryu3 January 2014
Lab Rats is hands-down the most entertaining Disney XD show out there in my opinion. Lab Rats has a great combination of comedy, adventure and superpowers. The name may not do the series justice and might give you know idea on what the series is about. But Lab Rats has an awesome plot.

The show is flipping hilarious for a Disney show. The funniest characters to me are Leo(Williams), Dr.Davenport(Sparka) and Eddy(forgot who plays him.). It tells jokes that for once not only little Disney kids can laugh at. Funny moments that are actually clever, not dry and overused.

The overall plot is jokes and a seemingly normal sitcom show. The story is based on 13/14 year old Leo Dooley who with his Mom, moves into his new super-rich new Dad's house. He discovers 3 bionic super-human teenagers with bionic superpowers and abilities in his basement. Leo learns to get used to life with his cool bionic friends, his billionaire step-dad and they go on crazy adventures in school, home and when the team goes on missions to save the world.

Leo and the Trio get into plenty of silly adventures and try not to get in trouble or reveal their bionic secrets. Adam has super strength, Bree has super speed and Chase has super smarts, the 3 S' of Superpowers! They can also do other things.

Leo is young and has no abilities. He's mischievous, clumsy and reckless and useless if not the cause of the problems the gang has many times at first. Nonetheless, Leo is the star of the show and although there are very very few scenarios in which he provides anything useful in combat, he's the one that holds the story in place and matures over the story until he becomes part of the group and eventually the guardian of Adam, Bree and Chase when his step-dad Dr.Davenport is absent. He teaches the "Lab Rats" to have normal lives as regular teenagers and have fun, but tries to keep the out of trouble at times. They save one another's lives at different points in the show.

The plot in most of season 1 is funny and entertaining, but season 2 is when it gets much more serious. They make enemies and meet foes who seem nice but aren't who they appear to be. The Lab Rats discover more about their past and about their abilities in hope to master them. They struggle between normal life and saving the world.

So overall this show has a great plot, decent comedy and plenty of superpowers and action! It's a show that signals much-needed change in Disney shows. It's not perfect, but there are bound to be a few bad jokes here and there, they can't all be winners. Unfortunately, the show is in some ways, low-budget which is demonstrated mostly in scenes with special effects. Overall, it comes down to judging this show with all things considered. And all things considered, it is a Disney XD show. Any issues that might be considered major defects in the score are issues every single last one Disney Sitcom has, being why I grant this show a 10/10!

A sign of a degrading society
SusieSalmonLikeTheFish31 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Lab Rats certainly had potential, or at least it sounded kind of cool at first glance, but it's terrible! I put it on for my little brother and we both agreed that if kids are entertained by this show, there must be a stupidity virus going around. The acting was awful, and for the most part the characters are cardboard cutouts of today's typical cell phone-toting, texting addict teens. No one is original in the show, no one has individuality. And come on, Bree? This inventor creates a superpowered human and names her Bree? That name was trendy around the time this show came out, but naming one of the characters Bree was pretty lame. The soundtrack to the show is horrible, unless you're into Hannah Montana-esque pop songs you'll hate listening to the music in this. The title made the show seem much more original than it really is.

It's really too bad that this type of garbage (I-Carly, Hannah Montana, etc.) is what kids are exposed to today. And Disney used to do some excellent kid's shows! I remember this 1990's paranormal show they did called So Weird that my sister and I loved when we were kids. I guess the only explanation for why today's shows are so moronic is that Generation Text is easily amused. Kids today can watch a video of an overweight woman falling down the stairs and find it funny. And they're being raised to be morons when they have potential to be really smart people. If you want to show your kids something more modern that still has originality, good acting and individual characters, try The Haunting Hour. It's a horror anthology series from the writer of Goosebumps, but it's more 21st century style and it's written to be appropriate for children.

Lab Rats Is Hilarious
joeywyss2 September 2013
Lab Rats is one of those rare Disney shows where everybody on the cast has "It". The kids, the parents , the supporting, they're all perfectly cast. Even the house security bot is hilarious, "he" has some of the best one liners on the show. Luckily, all of the actors are great in their roles instead of just one funny kid surrounded by duds (like on a lot of Disney sets). The writing is consistent and funny, and it carries the show instead of just gimmicks. And the characters are actually written for which allows the actors to show some range. It's great the show actually has a continuing sub-plot with the Evil Davenport brother that should carry it through seasons. I hope this is one Disney series that goes on for years, and none of the kids decides they want to be the next Britney or Justin and gets the show canceled after a couple of seasons.

Sucks on every level

See those 10star reviews? It's a sign that the human race is doomed.

This show is utter garbage. It's so bad it's not worth the effort of reviewing further.

All I'll say is if you enjoy this you must possess the kind of mentally that would laugh at a spoon.

I mean, who uses canned laughter these days? And don't get me started on the "acting" or cheap sets. This is dumber than TBBT, and that's saying something.

Excellent show!
sanahussain1714 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Love this show! In each episode the funniest person is either Eddy the security system or Leo the non-bionic human. I like everyone but my favourite character has to be Chase, who has super smarts so basically, he's the smartest guy on the Earth although, his ego can take over like Mr Davenport (aka Donald) who also has a big ego. In Commando App, we find out that Chase has a Commando app which allows him to be Spike who is a cocky, fearless soldier who comes when Chase is feeling threatened or in danger. Spike made his last appearance in Spikes Got Talent. In Leo's Jam, Bree glitches when she is trying to dance with Ethan, her crush. Sometimes when Adam angered, he loses control of his heat vision. I would totally recommend this show to friends who just love comedy. I never miss a episode because I just love it and love seeing all the action on Disney XD.

Silly mediocre show.
buffysummersapologist29 March 2023
"Lab Rats" is a Disney XD sitcom that aired from 2012 to 2016. The show follows the adventures of a group of bionic teenagers who live in a secret laboratory with their inventor stepfather. While the concept may sound interesting, the execution leaves much to be desired.

One of the biggest problems with "Lab Rats" is the negative messages it sends to its young audience. The show often glorifies violence and aggression, with the characters using their bionic powers to fight and defeat their enemies. There is little emphasis on peaceful conflict resolution or the consequences of resorting to violence. This sends a dangerous message to impressionable young viewers.

Furthermore, the acting in "Lab Rats" can be quite silly and over-the-top at times. The characters often deliver their lines with exaggerated expressions and gestures, which can be grating to watch. The show also relies heavily on slapstick humor and predictable jokes, which can feel repetitive and unoriginal.

For example, in one episode, the characters accidentally shrink themselves and end up getting stuck in a blender. The scene is played for laughs, but it's hard to find humor in the characters' perilous situation. It's also worth noting that the special effects and CGI in "Lab Rats" are not particularly impressive, which detracts from the overall viewing experience.

In conclusion, "Lab Rats" is a show that may appeal to young audiences who enjoy action and adventure, but it's not without its flaws. The negative messages it sends about violence and the simplistic humor and acting make it a weak choice for more discerning viewers.

The people hating on this clearly don't understand that kids shows are kinda dumb because they are literally meant for kids
calynmiddleton8 July 2023
Most of the People who are hating on this show are clearly adults who don't understand it's not even for their entertainment and it's not even bad. As a kid I loved this show and my siblings did too because it was literally built to entertain us the writing and the humor were not meant for adults it was at most meant for kids and preteens. That being said if the adults could look past that they could see that the writing isn't even bad it has a good plot though alot of episodes sometimes don't follow a plot and are for humor overall the show has a storyline it follows. Plus Principal perry is literally played by Maile Flanagan who plays Naruto.

Warning: Spoilers
Despite what the other reviews say, Disney's Lab Rats is an awesome show. Filled with some plot twists, sadness, and sometimes cringe. Most of the Cringe is when the show wants to be cringe like when Spike shows up. But I can ignore these as this show is one of Disney's best shows.

Warning: Spoilers
Even though its ended that's sad and I wonder why I know it's the only season 4 rule.

I rally like it Chase and the others are great cast and same with Eddie he's a computer program and hes funny and rude. The father and uncle of the bionic teens are great it's great that the real father came from evil too good.

Plus the action and writings and all that stuff is really good. I think the actresses and actors did really good. I like there bionic powers and that one has super speed and one has super strange and one is supper smart and one has telekinesis and so good.

I really love that there bionic and that's about it. I love the theme song too. I love the cast they pick for the TV show. It's a must see for sure. I liked how the mighty med cast guest stared and they guest started on the TV show together. I really love this TV show. Wonderful four seasons and years. I really like this TV show I hope you like this show as mush s me or more.

AWESOME SHOW
Spider-Blox11 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Don't let the other people reviews fool you! This show is amazing! The story gets so good and amazing during the 4 seasons. Not a single episode was bad. The acting is solid and great. The characters develop (Leo) He goes from being the cute little boy into a great young adult. Fun fact during season 2 and 3, Leo (Tyrell William Jackson) went through puberty which is why his voice changes a lot. Also his height changes a lot. Another fun fact is that Leo was the shortest family member in the show (Season 1 and 2) but in season 3 and 4 he becomes the second tallest member first being Adam obviously. I also like how they made Leo bionic. Some jokes were funny, some were not, but just watch it and you will find it gets better and better through the episodes and seasons (Especially season 4 that season is amazing!) Trust me, give it a change and you will like this show too! One of the best! Just sad it ended in October 2016 (Elite Force) :(
