As the big-budget projects get delayed and studios attempt to secure a deal with the Writers’ Guild of America, some of the smaller films that work outside of the studio system hope to use their grassroots status as an advantage during these times. Kevin Smith recently announced that his production, The 4:30 Movie, was approved to film with a waiver, and his movie is intended to start its principal photography later this month. The film is set to star Alain Moussi, who took over for the part of Kurt Sloane, previously occupied by action legend, Jean-Claude Van Damme.
