Underrated

Warning: Spoilers
This is easily the most underrated episode i have watched so far.7.8 is way too low and i had a great time watching it. Should be 8.5 at least. Don shows that he somehow still care for bettys well being as she tells him she may have cancer. We also see a change in bettys wheight that is interesting because as the doctor says it may be out of boredom and stuff like that. Henry shows us that he is a dick by not telling betty about dons concern and i also found the whole ginsberg story very appealing espcially the last scene of him with his father. If this episode is rated as the worst of the season i have to imagine that the others are just too good.

Ginsberg, Sick Betty & Brian Jones

Warning: Spoilers
MAD MEN is one of the most brilliant nighttime soaps ever made. It's just a shame the whole disease cliche had to happen to Betty Draper... that she winds up being sick (on and off of course) for the last three seasons is a shame. While Don's soul grows Betty becomes angrier and now she think she's dying, poor thing. Her acting is great in this episode...

And there's a new character introduced, a young copywriter, Ginsberg, who is extremely annoying. The character tries too hard to seem as if he's been on the show longer than 1 minute after his... first minute. He's horrible and overacts...

I mean, okay, he's Jewish, but does he have to use all the cliches; it's like he's imitating a Jewish New York guy from TV shows. Also, after we just meet him, we basically go home with him... he becomes a main character without paying any dues whatsoever...

The side-story of trying to get The Rolling Stones for a Heinz ad is so far-fetched (using a song they didn't even write, for that matter)... a girl in line has a crush on Brian Jones, because "he's a troubadour." Wow, great writing there...

They just wanted to use a name with pop culture significance since Mick Jagger and Keith Richards bore people at this point: Honey, just wait for guitar virtuoso Mick Taylor to join, when The Stones genuinely played live without a lot of vapid screaming to drown them out.

Fantastic!

What can I say? Mad Men is at it again. In this episode, we finally get a look at Betty. No wonder the commercials never showed new footage with her. It seems like the writers are trying something new with her. January Jones was pretty fantastic here, and for all of the hate that she and her character get, she still remains one of the most interesting characters. Talking about interesting characters, there's a new one here! A new copyright employee at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, one who seems like a fresh addition to the cast. Also, we keep dwelling on the relationship between Roger and Pete, and so far it's been fascinating to watch. Overall, fantastic episode and very much looking forward to the season as a whole.

Warning: Spoilers
Don shows his human side by his worry when Betty may have cancer. Her current husband shows what he is when he refuses to tell Betty that Don has called regarding her diagnosis. He can't even give good news out.

The new employee shows what you shouldn't say during an interview. At least, the truth comes out that he has been hired since the firm needs a token Jewish person. That last scene with his father at home blessing him would bring a tear to anyone's eye. Imagine, 1966 and firms were still discriminating against certain groups in their hiring practices. Having heard this story in my own family in 1949, brought vivid memories back to me.
