A misunderstood game
reddragonhero1721 April 2017
I know this game got a lot of backlash back in the day it came out, yes it's no Super Metroid or Castlevania, but come on, if you give it a chance, you'll actually have a good time. This game is leaps and bound ahead of the abysmal Shaq Fu. You get some nice environments, good music (ranging from ominous and creepy to jaunty and playful), and tight controls. Part of the fun is dunking the baskets and getting powerups. The real fun is attacking enemies with a variety of different basketball weapons like the fireball (favorite), iceball, basketball, and bowling ball to name a few. The enemies are both ridiculous and imaginative at the same time, even the bosses themselves are on the creative side. If I were to point out a negative, it would have to be that this game doesn't use a battery save, it uses the dated password system which can get tedious (not to mention frustrating considering the passwords are long). Other than that, this is a game that deserves more respect.
