Simple and Sweet Screenplay
firozmaac2 January 2023
Half pants full pants is a great series which quickly reminds me of iconic tv series - Malgudi days. The series is about a small kid - Anand aka Dabba and all his naughty, mischievous stories.

The beauty of this series is a location set in a very small town of Karnataka. Rich in nature! This will certainly remind us of our own childhood. The childhood which apparently lost in the tall towns.

Story line is very simple and close to every 90's kids. End of each episode you will be able to relate your self with dabba.

Acting of each character is so real that some point will be thinking it's a real story and real life character.

This is a must watch series of just 8 episodes. At the end of every episode you will always wish to have more. The casts are really good including Anand. Ashish vidyarthi and Sonali Kulkarni does great justice to their role of Anand's parent.

Innocent and natural.
ramyar-824201 January 2023
This series ia all bout innocence! It is so heart warming It took me back to my childhood. What I loved about this was that it's not glamorous, It is so clean, realistic and natural.

The story telling was really good.

It's been a while since something as heartwarming and innocent came on TV in form of a series

Loved the way Master Ashwant and Ashish Vidyarthi sir fit into their roles so naturally, not to forget the rest of the Jr. Cast as well

If you want to watch a series with your child, this definitely is one of them. Thanks to the director VK Prakash on putting forth such a cute, innocent and heart warming series.

Simple Innocent
sur_babu19 December 2022
I believe no show or entertainment is meant for everyone. So something horrible may be the best for someone. This one is a top star for me because I could close my eyes and relate this with my own childhood. Have not seen anything so simple yet beautiful since Malgudi Days or 90's simple Doordarshan series'.

Ashish Vidyarthi and Sonali Kulkarni are a pleasure to watch while the adorable Dabba steals the show.

I seriously hope that there would be another season and would eagerly await the same.

Location = Awesome Characters = you could relate Exaggeration = Nil Suggestion = Watch it if you are grown up in 80's innocent childhood.

Happiness restored
arjunniroo19 December 2022
This is a feel good web series which has been beautifully directed by V. K Prakash. The cinematography is fantastic, and so is the cast. Saw many new faces in some episodes who have all done a brilliant job. Ashwanth's performance was simply outstanding. It brings back old memories and reminded me of 'Malgudi days'. Ashish Vidyarthi's acting was so natural and brilliant, just like a typical Indian father. This series gives out a beautiful message too. It was mixed with both humour and sadness. I finished 4 episodes on the first day and couldn't wait to finish the rest. It has a feel good factor to it and I highly recommend all those who are reading this to watch it!

Rollercoaster ride of Nostalgia
vineethmailbox20 December 2022
I started watching H. P. F. P with the assumption/prejudice that this web series will be a very low budget making and technically it won't meet my expectations. As soon as I saw that I title card visuals of Sakleshpura/Shimoga railway and the first shot (aerial shot) I was convinced that my perception/prejudice was wrong.

This web series that has become an eye catcher to me with beautiful frames and visuals... The writing of Anand & Mani was perfect and VKP correctly captured the emotions of the characters beautifully.

Ganesh 's frames successfully recreates those nostalgic 90's and it helps us to travel back to those eras.

According to me Half Pants Full Pants is a rollercoaster of Nostalgia and Emotions.

Thanks to the team HPFP for giving us a webseries which can be seen for everyone from every age group with the entire family....

Its Really So Amazing
Ganesh-8850824 December 2022
Ashish Vidyarthi Sir is so good and different in this series. He behaves exactly like my father used to.

I went back 30 years to my own growing up years, my childhood friends and our adventures. We also had a detective group.

Brilliant series. Top notch direction and story telling. Little slow compared to regular shows but that's the beauty of this one. Can't wait for more stories like this.

Binge watched with family after a long time. Went back to my own childhood in Jamshedpur. The boy is Super Deluxe boy. He is magical. The stories are simple yet full of surprises and wonder. No unnecessary drama. Very natural. Real. Wish there were more episodes. Didn't want it to end. Now, waiting for Full Pants.

Brilliant acting, direction
Adityavarma524 December 2022
Sat with my children after a long time to watch a series. Kept stopping and telling them about my own childhood. All the mischief we did, the value of 10 paise, post office, PCO, transistor etc.

This series is a breath of fresh air compared to high action and drama that is a staple of almost every other web series.

Takes you back in time when life was so much simple, joyful and full of imagination and adventure. No phones. No internet. Easy pace of life.

It's like Malgudi Days and Wonder Years. A must watch, with family.

Brilliant acting, direction and wonderful stories. Bruce Lee! I also wanted to be one. Amazing series. Amazon, please do more like this.

A very sweet story of an innocent kid which is nostalgic too
jainair5 January 2023
This is the kind of movies and series we need. The story of an innocent kid and his mischiefs ,the loving simple family and pleasing characters around him.

I started it to kill my boredom to be frank but i got connected to it as i have lived my childhood just like him and i miss my childhood when i watch every episode.

Wonderful work by V. K Prakash sir , Perfect casting too.

Master Ashwant kumar is too good as Dabba, also the other kids too.

No words to Ashish Vidyarthi sir and Sonali Ma'am too.

Ashish sir has done a number of roles as villain many languages, but here he is different, we all can see our strict but loving father in him.

If you belong to smartphone era i dont know how u will find this series but if u are from 80s or 90's u will for sure miss your childhood.

Unforgettable hero Dabba
sraghavendra-2033519 December 2022
I see myself in Anand and his mishevious stories with school friends, the character "Dabba" is so mesmerizing and nostalgic!!! Which every kid tries to do, but the way it is screened is so heart touching and mesmerizing. I congratulate the whole team in bringing up such a beautifully written and narratted series of a school boy, this is one level up to any episodes watched before!!!

The school is really an unforgettable experiences of our school life is the wonderful period of our life. Apart from getting education, the students learns a lot of things from the school environment including; patience, sincerity, loyalty, sincerity, friendship, discipline etc. The school is really an unforgettable account of our experiences. Thanks to Dabba again!

Simple and elegant
subilesh3 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Half Pants Full pants is all about the real innocence of Indian civilization, innocent village, innocent people, innocent families, innocent childhood, simplicity, struggles and ups and downs in lives each episode is a portrait of India which now we miss under juggernaut of globalisation, urbanization, consumerism and dehumanisation. There are hundreds of very nostalgic and feel good scenes which make you thoughtful. The entire team worked so hard like the craftsmen who gave us the poetry in stone at Shimoga. One won't understand India and what unites this great country without watching this full series. Worth including in a time capsule to be retrieved after a thousand years. Highly recommended to young generation, students of rural development, art, culture, languages, religion and natural and cultural heritage of India.

Worst story for kid
jdthakar24 December 2022
Besides weak story and complete emotional disconnect.

The concept in the story is to break the "Indian" thought, increase animosity between siblings, and any thing that is non-Indian.

It contains insult of Indian deity. Ashish V. And Sonali K. Are quiet throughout the series.

The kid of pre-internet and mobile era never had courage to runaway from his house.

The school felicitates a kid just on receipt of PM letter. What idea is being communicated by this?

The ending is very very toxic which sows the seeds of poison between the siblings.

It is a shameful series with a storyline containing nothing but poison.

Innocence in a capsule
sreejamohanda8 January 2023
Half pants Full pants.

One of the most adorable series to adorn the OTT platform yet.

The world as seen through a child's eyes.

It's very easy to relate to this story as many of us as children have been through Dabba's predicaments, when we thought we carried the weight of the world on our tiny shoulders and it was up to us to 'sort out' the world.

Anand Suspi has told his tale very well indeed and we know that because the Director, V K Prakash managed to capture the very essence of the story on screen.

This formidable duo has actually taken us back into the time when kids saved money at the post office to get their moms, 'cassettes' with their favourite songs.

So many little moments that bring a smile to our faces.

I enjoyed every moment of the nostalgia this series brought up. Congratulations to the entire team.

Am looking forward to the next season.

Half pants full pants.

A must watch.

Class !!!
Vimal-4566324 December 2022
The story telling, landscape, acting, cinematography all are too good. The Acting of the boy touched my heart, it shows how can overcome all the challenges in the society with ease. The director V. K. Prakash portrayed the movie so nicely as if I am witnessing a painter is painting with beautiful colours. The movie has all such elements what common people has, but it never bored me, rather it took me to my childhood age. Unfolds through the eyes of little protagonists. We see an innocent acting skills of Ashwant ashokkumar.

I felt absolutely possesion less, looking inside and looking past the simple lower middle class childhood. Those golden days that gifted frequent priceless moments but disappeared quickly as I grew up.

Back to Sweet Childhood days
screenwritervinith4 January 2023
Childhood was a thing of the past but the child refused to leave", so said Anand Suspi. It is said that "time gone cannot be retrieved". Mr Anand suspi has proved it wrong to some extent. After watching all episodes, you would be tempted to switch off your laptop/mobile/TV and go down the memory lane, you will smile and remember many similar instances of your childhood. You will remember many friends who had been long forgotten. After watching this webseries, many of your memories will start engulfing you. Definitely this webseries takes you back to many years or decades to your childhood.

It is amazing to see that screenwriters and director remembers every small incident in vivid details. Incidents narrated are not as such extraordinary, all of us might have had similar experiences.

Dabba's efforts to convert five Paise coin to magnet, driving Railway engine, making records catching mosquitoes everyday, dream to become Drum master and Father's Why? Unnecessary? Money card game and understanding time and value of money, escaping from home, making private detective gang etc etc.... All these incidents reveal carefree innocence, formation of various mental impressions on young minds and how they behave, impulses to imitate parents and teachers etc. Etc.

Definitely this Webseries is really light and fun read. It refresh your mind after a long tiring day or will serve as a fun watch on a weekend night!

Highly Recommended, Don't Miss It !!

Ashwanth Ashokkumar , ANAND (DABBA) was truely magical.

Ashish Vidyarthi and Sonali Kulkarni were a pleasure to watch while the adorable Dabba steals the show. A mind-blowing series of a mediocre family resides somewhere in South India.

The movie has all such elements what common people has, but it never bored me.

Brilliant series. Top notch direction and story telling. Little slow compared to regular shows but that's the beauty of this one. Can't wait for more stories like this. The stories are simple yet full of surprises and wonder. No unnecessary drama. Very natural. Real.

I personally don't want it's next season cause few things should be not be stretched no matter what once beautifully ended.

Must watch movie!

Innocent. Teleports you back to the 80s and 90s
dasansant12 November 2023
The series is a very wonderful watch. Without any abuse, obscenity, this is one of the best series I have ever watched. Dabba, Gilli, Vishak and other friends and their notoriety. You will not know how the time passes. This series as well as the cast, Dabba reminds me of Swami from Malgudi days in DD. Say it or not, it has the same kind of setup, arrangement and location which features in Malgudi days. I suggest, the director's next season should be Gilli, Dabba following their fathers' advice to grow up successful and working in the 21st century in a competitive setup and reminiscing their childhood memories.

Taking you back in time
balachandranjayakumar5 January 2023
Half Pants Full Pants brings back memories of our childhood. It is really good to see the old ten paisa coin which is an antique item now. Refreshing to see an era free from electronic gadgets where family members talk to each other face to face rather than through mobile phone messages. Everyone has done their part well with the boy Anand standing out. Difference between convent school and railway school, getting carried away with the exploits of Bruce Lee, trying to somehow convince the parents to get things done, getting interested in different things and switching from one to other in a matter of days, all part of growing up are captured well.

Worth every 'Paisa'
ideadhead27 December 2022
A very unique perspective and narrative to bring back nostalgia in this new series - HPFP. There should be no comparison made to Malgudi Days at any cost as the genre, background and era of both are very different. I suggest everyone read the book and then everything in this series makes sense. There has been an excellent effort by the Director VK Prakash to recreate the eighties and the characters Dabba, Giddi are all portrayed to their real best. Railway stories in India are so few that this series completes that vaccum. It's a reminder that it's a world which was real and there were no mobile phones to ruin the fun of innocent childhood.

Simple, warm, heartfelt world
shuba-2825529 December 2022
It's a simple world created in Half Pant Full Pants with sweet, heart-tugging moments. It's a world without pretence. A story of a little boy in a small town, whose father works in the Railways It is a world without cellphones and computers. The quaint railway station and little town that the story is set in, is delightful. The nicknames, the school lunchtimes...Little "Dabba" the protagonist moving to a Convent school...Trying to make a magnet out of a 10 paisa coin (had forgotten how they looked)...Commenting on how the masala dosa from the neighborhood has remained so good and unchanged in all these years... The father looking shocked when he sees a picture of Brucelee in the Puja room...Are all such simple, delightful episodes, with insightful directorial touches!

"Dabba" the little protagonist is so real! It feels like he truly belongs to that world! He takes us around in his little world )of fantasy and somehow draws us into believing it is real too!

Surely worth a watch!
Rajprasad0296327 December 2022
I don't want to reveal much, but you need to watch this to make your own judgement. You're either gonna think there's a lot going on in the series and dislike it, OR you're going be very pleasantly surprised with the message. You might have your own reservations on the HOW, but will welcome the WHAT that the movie is trying to convey.

Overall, I think the story did try too hard to throw you off (and...it worked...?) but I guess I'll give it a pass. Surely worth a watch!

All actors performed nicely, Ashwanth ashokkumar, Asish Vidyarthi etc Bgm and Music are one of the best. Movie is Fantastic. Must watch.

Simplicity at its best
pulight3 January 2023
Reminded me of Swamy and friends serial. Quite enjoyable, kids would love it for sure. Hoping for the next season at the earliest. Kudos to the director for giving us insights into the mind of a child who was naughty but a dreamer whose dreams keep on changing and his respect for his parents gradually overcoming his frustration. But the twist was his elder brother turning negative at the end just because of Dabba's positive deeds. Hope everything turns out to b okay by the end of next season. All the best to the crew involved and also the actors who were so natural in their scenes. Thats it---

My new favorite show
bhagyalekshmij6 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Half pants full pants is a refreshing new show that I absolutely loved. The story and the setting of the railways, the village, and the schools are so serene and beautiful. The series takes us back to the good old times when things were simple.

Each episode takes us through the mind of Dabba and his sweet and quirky dreams.

I absolutely loved episode 3, where Dabba struggles to save up to buy a Mohammed Rafi music cassette for his mom for her birthday.

The star of the show is obviously Ashwanth, who plays Dabba. He was adorable as Dabba and I can't imagine anyone else playing this character this well. I also loved the character his best friend, Giddy.

The show was a treat to watch and I can't wait for more of Dabba's adventures.

Good Narrative
Saroj0327 December 2022
RATED 9/10 Superb slow pace engaging series with much needed social message...Enough twists are revealed at the regular intervals and the script keeps the viewers glue to the screen... The climax portion is ultimate and the message is most welcome...Despite its many narrative flaws, Half Pants Full Pants ends up being an impactful watch because of the social message that it carries and ultimately portrays with nuance and subtlety. Must watch..Nevertheless it is engaging throughout and no matter how hard you try to find the twist you will end up getting surprised like never before ! Ashwanth Ashokkumar acting is the backbone of the movie.
