There's been chatter for years about singer/songwriter Taylor Swift joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yesterday evening, one scooper went so far as to claim she's had a "good meeting" with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to discuss her joining the franchise.
Swift, who has become nothing short of a global phenomenon in recent years, is no stranger to acting and has even stepped behind the camera to direct. With that in mind - and the singer's immense popularity - it's no great shock that Marvel Studios is interested in working with her.
The question now is, who should she play? Many of the McU's biggest roles have already been cast and, given how successful Swift is as a writer and recording artist, we don't anticipate her signing any nine-picture movie deals!
In this feature, we explore some of the most exciting and realistic possibilities for Swift's MCU role. To check them out,...

Let’s not beat around the bush; Marvel’s going through something right now. The superhero studio’s recent output has simply exhausted both casual and hardcore fans alike.
The sentiment appears to be close to universal too: amidst the avalanche of MCU content, there have been too few hits and too many misses. The fact that Bob Iger, Disney’s Chief Executive Officer, has publicly said that they’re going to change strategy and “slowly decrease volume” tells you everything you need to know.
So how does Marvel proceed from here? MCU mastermind Kevin Feige is seemingly planning to course-correct by re-assembling the Avengers sooner rather than later. Next year alone will see the release of Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, The Fantastic Four, and Blade, followed a few months later by a new Avengers—previously subtitled “The Kang Dynasty,” though that’s reportedly been abandoned.
It’s a sensible play.

Glen Powell is one of those rapidly rising actors in the entertainment industry, with each new project launching him to heights more extraordinary than ever before. Since then, there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the pair’s next collaboration, which was further given a structure by reports of a third film in Cruise’s saga being in development. Moreover, Cruise himself added fuel to all of these reports through his recent comment praising his former co-star, which unarguably hinted that Powell and he may be returning for this very third film.

Watching movies on the big screen is an indulgence these days. Everyone prefers sitting in their homes, opening Netflix or Prime or any other streaming site, and watching whatever they feel like. But seems like viewers will have to indulge a little more than usual if they want to experience movies and not just watch them. Just ask Christopher Nolan, and he can tell you all about the IMAX experience.

Thunderbolts* has been a long time coming, though it's not unfair to say that the roster we're getting isn't exactly the one most fans hoped to see.
In place of characters like Baron Zemo, Mach IV, Moonstone, and Songbird are Bucky Barnes, U.S. Agent, Yelena Belova, and Red Guardian. So, just think of this movie as being a sequel to The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Black Widow!
The Sentry's presence suggests there's more to Thunderbolts* than just that and we've now rounded up all the biggest rumours, plot leaks, and spoilers in one place. From why this team assembles to plans for Robert Reynolds and links to the wider MCU, there's a lot here to delve into.

The role eventually landed to Lewis Pullman, something which was confirmed by the studio several months ago.
Now speaking to Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast, Pullman opened up regarding what the fans can expect from the role. Pullman was shown an image of Sentry, and commented on his locks, he also claims that he had never worn anything similar in his life, referring to Sentry’s iconic yellow-blue costume.

IMAX reveals a sizeable list of films coming to the format in 2025: here’s what to expect and when to expect it.
When it was reported around this time last year that Tom Cruise was engaged in a rather ‘spirited’ series of conversations with studio executives regarding Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning's IMAX allocation, it ushered into the foreground a fact that had steadily been emerging over the last few years.
The IMAX technology (and ticket price uplift that accompanies it) has established itself as something of a kingmaker in Hollywood. Studios that can secure the longest IMAX runs for their films can gain a much-needed commercial edge over their rivals.
Such was the case with Dead Reckoning, as the film’s brief IMAX window was surely a factor in it being beaten at the box office by Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a movie mostly featuring people in rooms talking.

Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Marvel’s “Big Machine” But Says He’s In The Dark About ‘Doctor Strange 3’
These days, avoiding Marvel confirmation of any kind might be an occupational hazard. For example, today, “Top Gun: Maverick” star Lewis Pullman was on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to promote his Apple TV+ series, “Lessons In Chemistry,” co-starring Brie Larson, which is vying for Emmy Contention now. The actor was asked about this upcoming appearance in Marvel’s “Thunderbolts*” movie, reportedly playing the character of Sentry, and the actor skirted around the subject as much as possible in a squirm-inducing segment of the interview.

While 3D cinema had come and gone in popularity, one premium screen that was made popular by Christopher Nolan’s attempt to use the technology is IMAX. Originally, the special cameras and format were meant for nature & science documentaries. The picture quality was unlike any that was seen before in order to capture the immense detail in every facet of the natural life on Earth. Then, Nolan had taken to using it for his blockbuster sequel, The Dark Knight, and crews of camera operators and projectionists would have to learn to utilize the practice for general audience movies.
The format has since taken off and has become a more luxurious and immersive way to watch a movie. This is especially if the film were a special effects-laden narrative that aims to take you on a journey onto a bigger plane. The practice has become more and more common in Hollywood with their big movies,...

Following the global success of Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two, Imax is looking forward to its biggest ever “filmed for Imax” slate in 2025, including at least 14 titles currently shooting with Imax film or Imax-certified digital cameras, which are due for release next year.
The company said today that the 2025 slate more than doubles any previous year in its history, as Hollywood and overseas filmmakers and studios increasingly create for its platform. (Scroll down for the full 2025 roster.)
The increase in Imax-focused production follows a run of historic box office success for films shot with its proprietary cameras despite its nearly 1,700 commercial locations accounting for less than 1% of total screens worldwide.
Recent highlights include over 20% of the global box office ($190M+) on Universal’s Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan shot the Oscar winner entirely with Imax film cameras. It’s the fifth highest grossing Imax movie of all time.

One Cannes ritual is IMAX CEO Rich Gelfond’s annual press lunch. IMAX is thriving in the global marketplace, with more than 1,700 screens in 90 countries, as audiences continue to recognize and embrace the global brand for giant film and digital cameras and big-screen formats. Helfand announced the company’s upcoming 2025 filmed for IMAX slate (below) while at Cannes, which he believes will break records for the company. Thanks to IMAX believer Chris Nolan‘s global blockbuster “Oppenheimer,” IMAX performed at peak capacity with over $1 billion in revenue in 2023, matching the company’s 2019 pre-pandemic record.
IMAX delivered 20% of the global box office for “Oppenheimer” — shot entirely with IMAX film cameras — and more than $190 million worldwide, making it the fifth highest grossing IMAX film of all time. IMAX also delivered 21% of the global box office for “Dune: Part Two” — shot entirely with IMAX-certified digital cameras — and over $145 million worldwide, making it the seventh highest.

Cameras are still rolling on Thunderbolts* in Atlanta, and while we're hoping some revealing set photos are imminent (a first look at The Sentry would be nice), JustJared.com has just shared a couple of new hi-res shots of Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes.
The former Winter Soldier once again has long hair and is rocking a goatee which, while by no means a drastic change, has generated plenty of discussion among fans on social media.
Look closely and you'll spot a crew member carrying a glove Stan will wear to portray Bucky's cybernetic arm! Having a suit on means he doesn't have to don a full sleeve, something we're sure the actor is grateful for. We also see Geraldine Viswanathan's mystery character.
As for what Bucky is up to, we've done some digging, and it sounds like he's attending a court hearing. Interestingly, Julia Louis-Dreyfus's CIA Director...

Before his Stranger Things fame, David Harbour did many small and significant character roles in several films and TV series. Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds was one project he could never forget due to a major disappointment. If you don’t remember seeing him in the sci-fi flick starring Tom Cruise, that’s because he was cut from the film. While Harbour accepted his fate, he was probably hurt by the fact that Spielberg had no memory of working with him in the film.
Black Widow star David Harbour revealed his unfortunate encounter with director Steven Spielberg
Harbour has two major projects in his current slate. He will reprise his Red Guardian role from Marvel’s Black Widow in the upcoming film Thunderbolts*. Harbour has also started filming his fan-favorite role as Jim Hopper for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

The upcoming Thunderbolts* film is poised to be one of the most exciting entries in the MCU’s upcoming slate. The studio has made several changes within the studio creatively and approach-wise to improve its output after a string of underperforming projects. With the team behind Netflix’s Beef coming in, expectations are quite high for the film.
Concept art featuring the team in Thunderbolts*
The film will unite a rag-tag team of antiheroes, including Yelena Belova, Taskmaster, Red Guardian, US Agent, Ghost, and Bucky Barnes. Following Florence Pugh’s on-set video that went viral a few weeks ago, a new photo, presumably from the film, shows a new look at Sebastian Stan as Bucky. But fans are rather focused on a Jeremy Renner look-alike in the photo.

Thunderbolts* remains one of Marvel Studios' most mysterious and intriguing upcoming movies, with that asterisk only serving to heighten anticipation for a project many believe is secretly Dark Avengers.
There are perhaps a few too many heroes on the team for that to happen, with it currently looking a lot like a sequel to Black Widow and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
In the latter, Bucky Barnes was fully freed from his Winter Soldier programming and now seems to be working with the CIA as part of this government-approved team. Rumour has it his role in Thunderbolts* isn't massive, leading to concerns this could be where the hero's story ends.
We'll see, but a new set photo has surfaced today showcasing Bucky's overhauled appearance.
He's not suited up but is wearing a traditional suit and rocking a pretty mean goatee. Is he undercover or just shaking up his appearance?...

Beef creator Lee Sung Jin says he’s enjoying the opportunities his Emmy-winning Netflix series has brought him — including his latest project: directing a music video for BTS superstar Rm.
Lee collaborated with Rm on “Come Back to Me,” a beautifully shot six-minute music video that feels like a short film. The song, which begins with an acoustic vibe and includes whistle sounds and guitar riffs, was released Friday and is a departure for the BTS member. The song appears on his upcoming sophomore solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, out May 24.
“It’s so sneakily catchy. I heard it once and then all day long I was humming it to myself. I’m like, ‘Man, that is an earworm. It just gets in there,’” Lee says of the song.

The Bear, Christopher Storer’s popular kitchen drama, has had us shouting “Yes, chef! and “Behind!” since its first season debuted in 2022. Starring Jeremy Allen White, the series follows his fine dining chef Carmy who returns to Chicago to run his late brother’s sandwich shop which has now been transformed into the titular restaurant.
We now have confirmation that the highly anticipated season 3 will debut on Disney+ in the UK and on Hulu in the US on the 27th June. All 10 episodes will drop at once, for your binge watching pleasure.
We also got a tiny little sneak peek at the new season, which sees Carmy returning to the kitchen. The third season will deal with the fallout of the somewhat, shall we say, eventful opening of The Bear.

‘Fantastic Four’ is currently the hottest upcoming MCU movie only a few months ago the release date and cast were announced, confirming what we’ve known for quite a while. Pedro Pascal will be MCU’s new Reed Richards, with Vanessa Kirby taking on the role of Sue Storm. The Thing and the Human Torch will be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn respectively. Julia Garner will be playing MCU’s version of Silver Surfer.
Filming is expected to begin this summer, and due to the release date being switched, ‘Thunderbolts*’ lost its July 2025 spot being moved to release earlier than expected on May 2, 2025. Despite the main cast being confirmed, there was not a speck of news regarding the movie’s possible villain.
All of this changed today when it was announced that Ralph Ineson will be playing Galactus in the upcoming movie, as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

Fresh off of their acclaimed turns in Hulu’s Pam & Tommy limited series comes news that the stars, Lily James and Sebastian Stan, will be reteaming. And this time, they can ditch the fake tats, bathing suits and chest pieces (one would assume), with them leading the horror flick Let the Evil Go West.
The movie is being directed by Christian Tafdrup, whose movie Speak No Evil has an American remake coming out this fall.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Let the Evil Go West follows a railroad worker who stumbles upon a fortune under deeply disturbing circumstances. As horrifying visions and manifestations drive him toward madness, his wife becomes convinced that an evil presence has attached itself to their family.
Sounds pretty cool, right? Sebastian Stan is no stranger to the genre, having starred in the well-received Hulu horror flick Fresh. Lily James also has experience with the genre,...

Disney and Marvel Studios had a tough year in 2023. Many of their movies didn’t do well, and the TV shows got mixed reviews. It was the first time in a while that Disney didn’t have a billion-dollar movie, and Marvel’s “The Marvels” became the lowest-grossing movie in the MCU, not even making $100 million domestically.
Recently, they found out that most of Disney’s movies were on the list of biggest box-office flops, with “The Marvels” losing a staggering $237 million. While it might not seem like much for such a big company, it prompted some big changes.
When ‘The Marvels’ came out, Iger said the studio would prioritize quality over quantity going forward. Brad Winderbaum, head of animation, mentioned they had a new plan, implying not everything in development will be made. Now, Disney’s CEO reiterated to THR what he said six months ago: there will be...

2023 turned out to be disastrous for Disney and for Marvel Studios. Most of their movies flopped, and TV shows were met with mixed reviews at best. Disney concluded its first year in a long time not having a billion dollar movie, and Marvel Studios concluded the year with ‘The Marvels’ which is officially the lowest-grossing movie in the MCU, and the first movie not to break the $100 million threshold at the domestic box office.
Recently, the list of biggest box-office flops was revealed, and most of Disney movies were on it, with ‘The Marvels’ losing an eye-watering $237 million dollars on a single project. This seems like a drop in the bucket for one of the most powerful entertainment and media companies in the galaxy, but it was enough to prompt some drastic changes.

Marvel Studios Co-President Louis D’Esposito and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige are addressing the rough patch the studio has been through over the last few years.
“If we just stayed on top, that would have been the worst thing that could have happened to us,” D’Esposito said in an interview with Empire. “We took a little hit, we’re coming back strong.”
He continued, “Maybe when you do too much, you dilute yourself a little bit. We’re not going to do that anymore. We learned our lesson. Maybe two to three films a year and one or two shows, as opposed to doing four films and four shows.”
D’Esposito is talking about “superhero fatigue,” which Disney CEO Bob Iger acknowledged in today’s earnings call. The plan going forward with Marvel Studios is to release “two good films” a year, possibly three, and cut the number of TV series spinoffs.

How much Marvel is too much? That question has hung over the MCU for more than five years, since Avengers: Endgame gave viewers an easy jumping off point. In that time, Marvel has released 25 movies, TV series, and specials, few of them pleasing all but the most committed fans.
It’s no surprise that, since he came back as Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger has talked several times about reducing MCU output. He hasn’t offered much in the way of specifics until now, but that still raises questions about the franchise’s future success.

Disney has been trying to get back on track as their acquired properties have taken hits over the years. Marvel Studios is a big brand that audiences have voted against with their wallets lately. With projects like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels underperforming at the box office, many people debated whether superhero fatigue had finally set in. When Bob Iger returned to run the House of Mouse, the CEO had voiced his concerns over the quantity of material that Marvel and Star Wars had been releasing. He had also championed films focusing on story rather than messages.

Whether you happen to enjoy Marvel Studios' more recent projects or not, it's hard to argue with the perception that the MCU franchise is far from the unstoppable juggernaut it once was.
With the likes of Eternals, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels underperforming (and receiving mixed/negative reviews), Disney recently decided to implement a "quality over quantity" approach, and CEO Bob Iger has now announced plans to reshape the MCU slate by reducing the studio's annual big and small screen output.

Disney CEO Bob Iger says Marvel will continue its “less is more” strategy, with two TV series released per year and a maximum of three films in cinemas.
Disney head honcho Bob Iger has said in the past that he wants the companies under his banner to operate on a quality-rather-than-quantity basis. It’s something he’s iterated again in a quarterly earnings call with investors, specifying that he wants Marvel Studios to release no more than two or three films a year. It’ll take a similarly restrained approach with its TV output, he’s said.
“We’re slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four and reduce our film output from maybe four a year to two, or a maximum of three,” Iger said in quotes shared by Variety. “And we’re working hard on what that path is.

During the Walt Disney Company earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Iger answered a question about the issues with Marvel. Recently, Marvel films and shows have declined, with ‘The Marvels’ being a theatrical black eye and loss for the company.
Bob Iger stated they had already thinned out the number of planned shows. Marvel plans to increase quality and reduce output on the number of Marvel films and shows.
Iger also stated that output reduction will mean only two or three Marvel films annually. However, he seemed to lean toward the idea of more sequels, and he kept mentioning “mining IP” regarding films and shows that Disney would release in the future.

Iger said this is part of Disney’s overall strategy to reduce output and focus on quality, a strategy “that’s particularly true with Marvel.”
“We’re slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four and reduce our film output from maybe four a year to two, or a maximum of three,” the Disney CEO said during the company’s quarterly earnings call Tuesday. “And we’re working hard on what that path is.”
Iger says Marvel has “a couple of good films in ’25 and then we’re heading to more ‘Avengers,’ which we’re extremely excited about,...

Marvel has plenty of projects bound to be released in the next few years, and we know that most of these projects have been stuck in a sort of limbo due to the historic SAG-AFTRA strike that paralyzed the whole industry as a whole, causing plenty of projects to be both delayed or altogether canceled.
One extremely anticipated Marvel Studios project that had problems way before the strikes began is ‘Blade.’ It is an McU-based movie following Eric Brooks, the most notable vampire hunter in comics, and a reboot of the already highly popular ‘Blade’ trilogy that contributed to paving the way for the MCU that we know today.
‘Blade’ had hellish production so far, and it was delayed who knows how many times. The most recent rumors indicate that the movie will be delayed once again. This time from November 7, 2025 release to unspecified 2026 release.

Marvel has a bunch of upcoming projects, and many of them got caught in the mess of the big industry strike. This strike caused delays or even cancellations for lots of projects.
One of the highly anticipated Marvel movies, ‘Blade,’ was already facing issues even before the strikes. It’s a reboot of the famous ‘Blade’ trilogy, focusing on Eric Brooks, a well-known vampire hunter from the comics.
‘Blade’ has faced a rocky production journey with numerous delays. The latest rumors suggest that the film will be postponed yet again, shifting its release date from November 7, 2025, to an unspecified date in 2026.
My personal ranking for MCU 2025:
1) Daredevil: Born Again
2) Fantastic Four
3) Thunderbolts
4) Ironheart
5) Captain America: Brave New World
6) Wonder Man
Suspect Zombies, Eyes of Wakanda and What If…? s3 may release next year so expect that ranking to change.
