It's interesting to put on a new episode of "Louie" and wait to see how it's going to subvert the expectations that you had after the previous. With this opening to the third season, there were a lot of things on the table for Louie to experience after the second season, with that season giving him an ending that left the audience with a bit of hope for his future. So it was interesting to see if this season would pay any of that off. However, instead of starting it off with a good time for Louie, it honestly couldn't be much worse for him.

At the start of this episode, it seems like we find the titular character in a place where he has everything that he could really ask for. He's even in a relationship with someone who seems very dedicated to it. However, that quickly goes wrong and it goes wrong because of a single thing: Louie is just being Louie. It's almost like Louis C. K. is trying to say that in the grand scheme of this show, Louie can't be happy. It's impossible to come up with something interesting for him to go through if he actually finds some sort of lasting happiness. And even though that's a sad and bleak view at the show, it's probably true as well. He's a character who is at his most entertaining when he is not having the best of times. For the rest of the episode, he tries to find some excitement in his everyday life, even buying a motorcycle that gives him a thrill for a montage of time. But that's not entertaining, so we see him in one of his most desperate states at the end of the episode, which is just sad, but also very hilarious. And the rest of the universe is hilarious as well. The opening monologue is disgusting, yet offers up some funny images that you can think about. The humor throughout continues the hot streak, and a certain revelation that happens halfway through is just so good, mostly because it doesn't make any sense, but just feels kinda right here.

"Something Is Wrong" starts off by putting Louie right back in the position of power that we're used to seeing him in, with good reason. This is not a show about someone going through tough times to come on top, but someone who has to settle with the fact that his life just purely sucks.
