16 Seasons...The Most UN-True to Life!!!
Erin5026623 July 2023
Seriously? The most senior b a u agent put himself in a position like this? On purpose? I have a hard time believing, after knowing this man for 16 seasons that this would actually happen. I was excited that they brought back the show, even though there's so many other good books that could have been developed into great series. And I'm being generous with the eight rating because I dearly love these actors and their characters. Watching Zach grow into such a sophisticated actor alone has been a blessing since Friday Night Lights but this episode just ticks me off. I'll finish this season but come on folks! This series has usually been more true to life than most FBI portrayals but not this episode!

We are cooking !

Wow, another amazing episode this season and definitely the best since the mid season finale.

The acting from Joe Mantegna was AMAZING!!! It really got into his mind ( no pun intended ) and with some flashbacks that are just heartbreaking we get an amazing and standout performance of the season in my opinion.

The entire team need to be on their A game in this one as everything is crashing down especially in the end of this episode we are really getting into the grit of things.

I feel horrible for poor Penelope she can't seem to catch a break.

I am so excited for the finale, I've always thought 10-13 episodes gives a much better season as a solid story can form and not feel overdone, if the finale pulls it off, this has been one of my all time favourite seasons, any chance we get that intro music just one time hahahaa.

The Flash backs, I'm not super into flash backs usually but in the episode they seemed to really work well, there was one with Elijah I could have done without but bar that 0 complaints !!

Memento Mori

Warning: Spoilers
After a couple fairly dull episodes of this show we finally got one with a little bit of excitement. The right amount of violence and shooting and overall danger for the characters, but also enjoyable because they finally pointed out the inevitable reality of an aging David Rossi being a genuine threat to people.

This season has been a win overall, but I would not say that every single episode was a hit, not by a long stretch. But they have us interested in how this storyline will all wrap up next week and I sincerely hope that they do something else with the next season because I can't take much more of this.

Make or break..

I have just watched this episode, and I am scared to be honest..

I wont give away spoilers, but I will say it ends on a cliffhanger. And unfortunately I think that is a mistake.

It's a good episode in what is a great season, but the stakes are too high for criminal minds now and I fear they wont do the hail mary that a final episode like this needs.

A BAU member might be in danger. Will former BAU members return to help this member? If not, this will be a fumble.. If I dont see at least Reid, Simmons, Morgan or even Hotchner in the final episode, this will be a fumble :/ And the final episode, no matter how good it is will feel flat...

Blinded by darkness

Totally agree with another review! The lighting sucks. The low light scenes were extremely dark. Every light bulb in every scene must have been like -10 watts.

The Rossi had more light in what should have been a really dark shipping container. Get in one of those and close the door, automatic heart rate increaser.

Assistant Director Baily OMG what is he like 15 with the I will do anything but the right thing to get to the top attitude. Then big surprise I change my behavior to be supportive of the team.

Ms. Wilson another useless character for all inclusive purposes doing anything to get to the top. Ooops I prosecuted the wrong person, it's okay as long as I get that promotion. Until I'm backed into a corner and have to step up and do something besides sit on my hands.

Great bad guy with what has to be the dumbest wife ever, most women can smell a lie on their husbands lips before he speaks.

Going downhill

Warning: Spoilers
When I heard the show will get a limited revival series I was a little apprehensive but also curious. Despite not everyone coming back I watched the first couple episodes and I was enjoying myself. The concept of one unsub who is connected to many others was ideal for a limited run and they chose the villain perfectly.

But it's as though half way through they completely lost steam. Everyone just seems so much less competent then two episodes before and both the characters and the writers seem to be grasping at straws.

But the biggest disappointment and the thing that angers me the most is the destruction of Penelope's character. The character from the original show would have never started a romantic relationship with a material witness. And the show is playing it for laughs. As though it wasn't something that would get her fired in an instant.

If they were too cowardly to make good on the promise of a romance between Luke and Penelope there were many ways to handle that. This half-assed flashback and that terrible romance are not it.

I will watch the last episode but I'm not sure I would be returning for more. I don't have any trust left in the writers knowing their characters and being able to carry an interesting storyline.

Turn On The Lights
my_port_20003 February 2023
I had such high hopes for the return of one of my favorite series, but with each episode I am more disappointed. It's not the story line, It's the lighting. Or rather, the "lack of lighting".

I understand they are trying to "set a mood" but the lighting is so bad I can hardly follow the action. Sure, some scenes take place outdoors at night, but even the internal scenes, like the interactions between Tara and Rebecca, and JJ and Will are so dim that it's hard to see what is going on.

In this episode it appears that the flashback scenes were shown in B&W, but the rest of the episode was so dimly lit that it was almost impossible to tell the difference.

If they are going to make the program so dark, why not save the money on sets and costumes and just make it a podcast?
