As the temperatures drop, there’s only one thing you can count on to bring the heat: a new season of Single’s Inferno. Season 3 of the Korean dating competition show is officially coming on Dec. 12, and it promises a few new twists and surprises. “What used to be ‘Paradise’ and ‘Inferno’ will change completely,” Yoo Ki Hwan, Netflix’s unscripted lead for Korea, told Tudum earlier this year. “Especially when it comes to ‘Paradise’ — it won’t just be a luxurious resort, but more of a special and intimate place where the couples have a chance to dive deeper into each other’s emotions, elevating the romance.” The production team also noted that there will be new rules, which will be substantially different from Seasons 1 and 2.

“Between season 1 and season 5 is an entire life.” That’s a real understatement on the part of Sonequa Martin-Green in an interview with Den of Geek magazine, describing the five-season and seven-year journey of her character Michael Burnham, the protagonist of Star Trek: Discovery.
When we first met Burnham way back in 2017, she was the first officer on the USS Shenzhou, a Starfleet ship operating about a decade before the events of The Original Series, and under the command of Captain Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh). By the end of the two-part premiere, Georgiou was dead and Burnham was in prison for mutiny.
Things have certainly changed since then. We begin Discovery‘s fifth and final season with Captain Michael Burnham of the USS Discovery, but adventuring over 900 years after the events of the premiere. Yeah, it’s been a wild journey, one that incurred more than a little criticism early...

When producer Alex Kurtzman launched Star Trek: Discovery nearly a decade ago, the idea of bringing the Star Trek franchise back to TV was a gamble. Back in 2015, the most popular science fiction TV series were either on the SyFy Channel or Doctor Who. After having gone out with a whimper with Enterprise in 2005, could Trek rematerialize as a fully rejuvenated version of itself? Could a mainstream audience be enticed back to the final frontier by yet another new crew? At first, the answer was maybe.
After several delays, Star Trek: Discovery debuted in 2017 on a newly minted streaming service, CBS All-Access, and the reviews were mixed. After the departure of Bryan Fuller, some critics felt Disco’s first season had a patchwork quality, amounting to a Trek tapestry that was as challenging as it was audacious. To say Discovery’s early years were some of the riskiest in Trek...

“I had a feeling going into fantasy suites that it wasn’t going to be me,” Nance told TheWrap. “I can say confidently that it ended in the best way possible for Joey and I. We still care for each other and we still have that love and adoration that won’t go away.”
Nance was one of the three remaining women that Graziadei courted through Fantasy Suites, and felt confident putting herself out there despite knowing she might not be Graziadei’s final rose pick from the start.
“I was freaking out, like ‘what if it’s not me at the end, but I’m just happy with how it ended,” Nance said.

Son Goku might be the most iconic protagonist of all time, and fans believe that Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball features the strongest character to be ever featured in any manga or anime. However, this remains an extremely debatable topic if he is the strongest character ever because each time when one thinks that the character has reached the pinnacle of strength, he will shatter his limits and become better than his former self.
Goku Ui transformation in The Tournament of Power
Intriguingly, this has led to the popular meme called ‘ But can he beat Goku?’, where the fans of the series use it to show off the character’s strength. However, it looks like Kakarot has a new opponent, as fans argue on social media if Ben Tennyson, the wearer of the most powerful weapon in the universe, can take on the Saiyan in a fight.

Briston Maroney made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week to perform the song “Body” from his latest album, Ultrapure.
Taking the stage alongside his band, Maroney delivered an impassioned rendition of the song, singing the chorus’ refrain “Someday, my body will be just a body” in all of its anthemic glory. For the climax, he stepped back to let his guitar do the talking, laying down a chaotic slide guitar solo over the band’s energetic groove. Watch a video of the performance below.
Ultrapure arrived this past September and is the second full-length release from Maroney. His debut album, Sunflower, premiered in 2021, featuring the Manchester Orchestra co-penned song, “Bottle Rocket.” In 2022, he shared the singles “Paradise” and “Harvard,” and last year, he opened for Noah Kahan.
Up next, Maroney has tour dates of his own coming up, including stops in cities like San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and more.

When asked about the long journey to Star Trek: Discovery‘s fifth and final season, producer Alex Kurtzman is honest but optimistic. “It’s been an incredible ride for us,” Kurtzman tells Den of Geek when we chat with him at SXSW 2024. “And yeah, it was an incredibly bumpy first year.”
Kurtzman’s referring to the behind-the-scenes difficulties that plagued the show’s first two seasons. Initially developed by Bryan Fuller, who wrote for Deep Space Nine and Voyager before going on to make fan-favorite shows such as Hannibal and American Gods, Discovery ultimately premiered with Gretchen J. Gorgeous scenes of monkeys, bears, lions, and other creatures are featured in the new trailer for BBC America and BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s Mammals. Backed by a reworked version of Coldplay’s “Paradise,” narrator Sir David Attenborough describes what it takes for mammals to survive in the modern world.
“The BBC’s Natural History output has long been a source of joy and wonder to the world and it’s an honour be a part of this stunning new series. It’s a dream come true to assist Sir David Attenborough and his team in their ongoing mission to celebrate the beauty of our planet.” – Coldplay
The six-episode documentary series will premiere this summer on BBC America and AMC+.
“To be bringing together the supremely creative talents of Coldplay and Thomas Farnon, the composer behind the Mammals score, to collaborate on the global hit, ‘Paradise,’ is incredible,” said executive producer Roger Webb.

When showrunner Michelle Paradise and co-creator Alex Kurtzman sat down to begin planning what would ultimately become the final season of “Star Trek: Discovery” they had one big goal: “Bigger and bolder,” of course, Paradise said.
They didn’t originally know the program would be coming to an end, but they still wanted to take some big swings when it came to keeping the story fresh for Season 5 — and that means compelling villains.
“They’re kind of like the Bonnie and Clyde of the ‘Star Trek’ universe,” Kurtzman said to IndieWire about the new baddies that fans will meet in the premiere episode. “But like all great villains, they have a sympathetic story. You know the old adage: The villain is the hero of their own story. That’s very true for them, and I think ultimately you’ll love them as much as you’ll see them as the villain.

Alex Kurtzman looks exactly how you’d expect someone to look at the end of a five-year-mission for Starfleet: relaxed, confident, and ready to bring the ship home. At least, that’s the impression he gives when he, showrunner Michelle Paradise, and stars Sonequa Martin-Green and David Ajala talk with Den of Geek about the upcoming fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery during SXSW 2024. You almost can’t tell this show has faced many trials and tribulations across its seven years on the air.
“It’s been an incredible ride for us,” Kurtzman declares during our chat, but quickly adds, “It was an incredibly bumpy first year.” Only a calm man can use words like “incredibly bumpy” to describe Discovery‘s inaugural season in 2017, the first new Star Trek television series since Enterprise went off the air in 2005. Hamaguchi Ryusuke’s “Evil Does Not Exist,” was Sunday evening named as the best picture at the Asian Film Awards.
The 17th edition of the prizes was held at the Xiqu Centre, part of the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong.
While “Evil Does Not Exist” and Korean blockbuster “12.12: The Day” had dominated the nominations with six each, including those in the best film category, the prizes on Sunday were much more evenly distributed. No title collected more than two prizes.
Outside, crowds failed to be muted by the March drizzle, though VIP guests were given escorts with purple umbrellas.

Lance Bass says he developed diabetes during the Covid-19 pandemic and is working on managing his condition.
“I’m definitely conscious of my eating now,” the Nsync member told People magazine while promoting his partnership with allergy medicine Allegra. “I’m learning what you can eat, when you can eat, when you take your insulin — and all that has just been really hard lately.”
Bass noted that, besides monitoring his diet, he has also prioritized exercising to handle his diabetes. “The older I get, the more I know I have to take care of my body. So I work out when I can,” he said. “Exercising is so key right now, but it’s hard for me because of my schedule to get to a gym. So I do have a nice setup at my house and I get 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there.”

Elvis Presley‘s “Rock-a-Hula Baby” was released alongside one of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll‘s most famous songs. “Rock-a-Hula Baby” suffers by comparison, but it also fails on its own. It’s a strange fusion that never quite comes together. Here’s a look at why it a B-movie actor wrote the track.
Elvis Presley’s ‘Rock-a-Hula Baby’ was part of a forgotten trend
Elvis’ Blue Hawaii typified a specific point in American history. Hawaii became a state in 1959. Around that time, the rest of the United States showed a strong interest in Hawaii. The late 1950s and 1960s gave us Gidget Goes Hawaiian, the Christmas song “Mele Kalikimaka,” and a lot of tacky tiki bars. Elvis jumped on the bandwagon with a trio of movies: Blue Hawaii, Girls! Girls! Girls!, and Paradise, Hawaiian Style.
According to Elvis Australia, songwriter Ben Weisman revealed the origin of “Rock-a-Hula Baby.

Elvis has had a resurgence in popular culture with Baz Luhrmann's colorful fantasia "Elvis" about his dazzling star presence and complex relationship with Colonel Parker, and Sofia Coppola's incisive "Priscilla" which views him through a more critical lens, delving into the uneven power dynamics and manipulation that defined his marriage.
But it was "Lilo & Stitch" that introduced Elvis to many millennial and Gen Z audiences. With its quirky alien characters and gorgeous watercolor backgrounds that illustrate the Hawaiian setting, "Lilo & Stitch" is one of the most unique Disney films. But what also makes "Lilo & Stitch" such a singular film is its soundtrack, particularly its inclusion of the crooning heartthrob from the 1950s, Elvis Presley. The adorable six-year-old Lilo overlooks any of Elvis' flaws and views him as a "model citizen" whom her naughty blue "puppy" Stitch can look up to.
