Nintendo really wasn't messing around with Donkey Kong Country. They pulled out all the stops with the ad campaign. Nintendo Power even mailed a 13-minute video package to its subscribers hyping the thing. Thus, "Donkey Kong Country: Exposed", a sample of the earth-shattering game coming soon. This is that kind of video. It's also very '90s with that MTV "extreme" style of production. The adult in me finds the staged approach hilarious, but the 13 year-old in me is transported right back to the Fall of '94. It's a testament to just how damn effective this video was because I had to have that game.
. . . But seriously, they sat the programmers at a table - full of bananas! - to have a casual discussion over just how awesome this game actually was. Like they just had bananas lying around.
But hey, it worked.
