Gets Funnier and Crazier With Each Episode
MamadNobari9724 April 2023
Another great episode from the last season that gets even better than the last one. The ending of this episode must be in the top 10 craziest scenes of the show.

This is another great episode that mixes comedy with serious dark stuff really well and this episode is also somehow funnier than the last one. It also does a really good of progressing each of these characters' storylines and no main character is left behind.

Gene still gets some of the funniest scenes of the show and considering this is just the third episode, he gets his somewhat of a comeuppance this early. But I know his story is gonna get even goofier.

Sally starts her own acting class in this episode and gets a huge reality check in there. It adds more depth to this character that she's been in abusive relationships, romantic or workwise, and even with her own parents, but she still comes back to it and this cycle of abuse doesn't end. I don't think she has realized it herself yet that she just can't stop this cycle and she just comes back to it like an addict, knowing or unknowingly. She's either the abuser in the relationship or the one that's getting abused. But that's what she's been living with her whole life and that's the only way she knows how to operate.

El Toro is also the best character of the show with only like 2 minutes of screen time. Forget Barry, forget Sally and Gene, El Toro is the main character and I don't wanna hear otherwise. El Toro is the best Toro.

And you know the drill with Fuches at this point. I don't think I've seen something so overdone in any movie or show and I don't mean it as a bad thing. This is probably the 60th time Fuches has had a change of heart about Barry, but it's comical every time. They somehow manage to do this like 3 times per episode, but it doesn't feel out of character or done to death. Great writing really.

The ending of the episode is just a chef's kiss and we get a big cliffhanger too. Bill Hader proves once again how much of a master he is on screen and also behind the camera. The action scenes of this show are just something else. They are so unique and well-done and feel so realistic and creative that I wanna know what Bill and Alec Berg were smoking to come up with them. The action is just fantastic and they are shot really well. Great direction and cinematography as always.

With how crazy this episode was and it's already on par with the craziness of the second half of season three, I'm just looking forward to see how they're gonna top the craziness in the latter half of this final season.

So damn great!
UniqueParticle24 April 2023
Barry deservers plenty of awards I'm still surprised season 3 didn't win more at least for the chase episode regardless worth the high ratings/praise. You're Charming is a masterful episode where a lot happens with Hank, Sally being a delightful wonderful actress, Barry vents with masterful emotions (Bill Hader) is one of the best actors of our generation and great dialogue! Even has Rain Man in it briefly that's wonderful I have autism. Stephen Root has even gone a long way since being in Office Space When the Emmy's come up this summer numerous series deserve awards and this better be one of them to win!

All Time High
angelhinojos24 April 2023
It's rare you get a show that has managed to keep its brilliance for so long, and not only that but doing it in completely new ways every time. Barry will be remembered as such, a show that never pulled its punches, and a show that is just brilliant in every way possible. Barry S4E3 is Barry at its best, a complete episode all around, from the absolutely hilarious dialogue, and comedy being at display, to the incredibly deep and serious moments, this episode has it all. In a short 30 minute runtime, Barry pulls off more emotion than most 60 programs, and with ease, this is truly a show at its best.

Outstanding Episode... Wow !
tristan_1924 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly one of the best episodes of the series. You're Charming delivers thrills all over, and then some. The acting is flawless, the tension out of this world, the dialogue completely pierces the screen. What do you want ?

Sally holds her first class, and she appears to be quite brilliant at it. At first, she is nervous, but when people start believing in her, she finds her footing. But she soon starts using some old Gene methods to get the best out of her students. The debate is palpable as you can see both sides of the coin. It is abuse, but without it, this girl wouldn't have gotten that performance out of herself. It's similar to the movie Whiplash in a sense, but on the acting front.

And I guess it is different for each student. I feel like there's different ways you could use. And she could maybe tell her students in advance what her intentions are. Or move to different techniques altogether. I don't know...

You question the habits. It is hard to move on or past these and the characters find themselves stuck. I felt bad for Sally a little bit, but also saw through her method. Trauma keeps creeping in and the struggle is real.

Barry doesn't realize at all what he is doing calling Noho Hank. He can't process what Hank is trying to tell him and oh boy, what a performance. When Hank lays it all out, it is tragically sad, and like the lost of a frienship. They won't be able to come back from that.

Fuches is notified of the intended hit on Barry, and as much as he feels betrayed, he is not in a state of mind where he wants to see his pal die. So he comes forward, and none of the guards take him seriously which added to the tension even more. So frustrating. It seems Jim Moss is unhinged also. The journalist comes out brainwashed or something, and Gene is threatened.

The finale is mindblowing when Barry spots the agent supposed to perform the hit. But the shot backfires and he loses his finger, while his accomplice fires through the roof. The whole room is lit up and the FBI agents are mowed down. Barry gets the guy in the ceiling and escapes. This isn't what Noho Hank planned, but the mission also ends up succesful in the sense where there's no deal anymore. But who knows, maybe there are other FBI agents that will investigate and see right through it all.

Now, with Barry gone, he is probably going to get framed for the murders, unless the ceiling guy was an outsider and not an agent, but then they could also pin Barry as an accomplice for the hit. And if Barry gets out, he is probably gonna try to contact Hank at some point or take his revenge. Or he could do like last season and show up, but step down at the last second and not kill him. Who knows... The myriad of possibilities is absolutely crazy.

And the fact Fuches will end up being the only guy that has Barry's back at the end, mirroring his youth is astonishing. I guess the cycle just repeats itself after all. And after all the boys have been through, maybe they'll end up brothers in arms one last time at the end. Oh boy. Both Barry and Sally have demons in their closets and are trying to escape their past, but glimpses keep pushing through. And bad habits persist. But the struggle is constant and also persisting. What a show...

Incredible Balance of Tones!
vishwasurabhi24 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is the perfect blend of everything Barry does well. From the comedy to the drama, everything on display here is quintessential Barry. From the opening shot of the gang member to the sound design when Cousineau is breaking into Lon O'Neil's house, everything is at the highest caliber. To those who said the comedy is gone from the show, this episode completely proves that wrong. The show has always had dark comedy and this episode is chock full of it. Yes, the show gets dark, but it's never lost sight of the absurdity. From Fred Armisen playing a podcast host slash assassin who reviews malfunctioning gadgets, to Jim Moss torturing someone so badly they forget how to speak English, this episode was absurd, dark, and everything I want from an episode of Barry.

Somehow this show just keeps getting better
volfan-5714624 April 2023
This season has been near perfect so far and this is the most exciting episode yet. This episode had scene after scene that had me going back after the episode to watch again. The cinematography in every episode this season so far has just been so well done. I can't believe how many big moments happen in 30 minutes and this episode was particularly Thrilling. One of my favorite moments is the cameo from Hader's fellow SNL star Fred Armisen .(this scene was awesome) Bill Hader, Sarah Goldberg, and Anthony Carrigan always act in a way that just amazes me. I always wish the episode was longer and I just can't say enough about this show. Barry Barry Barry!!!!

Barry strikes again
doomblazer24 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Another episode that just completely blew my expectations out of the water. Not only did this episode have two of the shows best cameo appearances it also kept the comedy consistent throughout an otherwise tense and crazy episode.

The scene of Barry talking with Hank is truly one of the saddest scenes in the show and you feel for Hank's betrayal from Barry while rooting against Barry for being so self centered.

Yet by the end of the episode you're afraid Barry is about to meet his final fate.

But now we're left with everything that's been building up the first two episodes of season 4 back to square wondering what's next for Barry.

Great action, intensity, humor
bfarstvedt24 April 2023
Barry's horrid situation is exacerbated by dire actions taken against the hitman (from Hank). Fuches takes a stand for his only family. Gene tries to undo his latest blunder. Sally passes on trauma to a new generation of actors.

Overall, the premise of You're Charming is succinct and radical; Barry has one day to live, more or less. We're promised very early on that there will be violent consequences in this episode. They do come, but if you're patient, you'll enjoy some extremely fun home invasion bits and hard-nosed drama via phone calls. This is a well-paced and engrossing episode with plenty of laughs and a memorable ending. Possibly one of the best installments that Barry has offered.

It's Back!
Oscarjbunting25 April 2023
I left a review for episode one saying that it felt like a slow burn, and that to me it felt like it was missing a lot of its comedic energy - this episode showed me that they've still got it, and hopefully they continue to build and expand on that energy.

I think it's these wonderfully surreal moments when you think you know exactly where the story is headed next, and can't help but watch as all your expectations are turned on their head in some incredible, beautiful, and often times hilarious ways.

This episode took me from suspense to laughing to shock and back again in the best possible ways, and gave me the confidence that the magic that made me fall in love with this show is still in there!

This show is in a good hands
pywbnhx24 April 2023
I was worried after the ending of the third season that the writers may got themselves in a huge mess after the breathtaking cliffhanger.

And I thought they will come up with a silly solution to Barry and continue the forth season... but I'm glad that I was wrong, and after this episode I'm confident that the writers behind this show are brilliant and respect their audience.

I'm still amazed about the writers mastered the art of doing a lot in a little time... I was 13 mins into the episode and thought that I reached the end of it, but I was happy to see that there are still 17 mins remaining.

I'm already that we have to say goodbye for this amazing show. I'm sure it will be masterpiece in writing both a TV series and comedy.

Can't stand Sally Reed.
lovemichaeljordan26 April 2023
This season is amazing so far. When Sally Reed gets less screen time and the show focuses more on Barry, Gene, Hank and the Raven it's way more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong; Sarah Goldberg is an amazing actress and her performance is great, but I just can not stand her character. She is so full of herself and she will most definetly not make Barry's life better. Her character is quite interesting on the paper, but the other characters are just so much better.

This show continues to surprise and shock. The mix of comedy and drama is phenomenal as always. You get these really gritty, dark scenes and then to lighten up the mood, some goon delivers a great comedic line.

Big guest stars
safenoe26 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
SNL alumni and good friend of Bill Hader, Fred Armisen guest stars in you're charming, the third episode of the fourth (and final) season of Barry. Fred pretty much chews the screen in his cameo, and much has been written about it on the internet and no doubt there are many memes. Legendary director Guillermo del Toro guest stars as El Toro, and again he chews the screen.

Sally's acting classes, where she tries to channel Gene Cousineau, was incredibly intense (and even painful) to watch, but that's Sally wanting to pick herself up after her series was unjustifiably axed. You're charming is definitely intense.

Episode 403
bobcobb30130 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am just not in love with this show as much as some of my fellow IMDB users are and I do not know if that is going to chance. When Bill Hader tries to act threatening as Barry it feels like he is just using his Alan Alda impression and that does not come off as particuarly dangerous or scary.

The constant shifting of who is working with the FBI and who isn't and who is going to get a deal and who isn't is not as compelling to me as I feel like it might be to others.

I don't know, maybe they are building to something great down the road this season, but I just am not getting that vibe so far.
