“Hopeless” Air Date: 7/15/2012
As True Blood is wont to do, we start immediately where we left off from the previous episode, with Alcide being dragged away by werewolves in Russell Edgington’s insane asylum turned recovery ward (replete with blood slaves and rats). The wolfpack distracts Eric and Bill enough for Russell to go after Sookie, but her faerie powers repel him, and Eric is at his throat with a stake, ready to send Russell to the true death. But again, there’s a way out, as Bill stops him, explaining that saving his life might in turn save theirs, because who knows what the Authority wants to do with Mr. Edgington. Eric pauses at the forceful plot point, and the Authority arrives, with Peter Mensah’s Chancellor Kibwe leading the way.
Oddly, instead of glamouring Sookie and Alcide himself, or having someone of the Authority do it,...
