Check Out the Best Anime Games of All Time, From Dragon Ball Z to Naruto (Photo Credit – IMDb)
There are plenty of anime out there that make use of the gaming trope as their premise. You know, the one where the main character gets trapped inside a video game and now has to scale through all its levels to become the strongest being alive. Isekai anime and manga are particularly fond of this trope — with the most famous ones being “No Game, No Life,” “Overlord,” and “Sword Art Online.” There’s also the newest hype in the anime world with the manhwa turned anime, Solo Levelling.
But what if we tell you some games do the opposite and use anime as their premise? Here are four fan-favorite games that have been adapted from their anime counterparts.

Narratives concerning journeys to another realm through supernatural means, which occasionally involve gateways of sorts, are fancifully termed portal fantasies, instances of which are abundant across mythology and adventure fiction. In the context of manga, the subgenre is known as Isekai, and has gained immense popularity in recent years thanks to the LitRPG Sword Art Online, a series that combined sci-fi elements of virtual reality with a high fantasy setting to produce a unique experience. The popularity attained by Sword Art Online resulted in writers trying to replicate the success by following the narrative as a blueprint, and the South Korean web novel/manhwa Solo Leveling, created by Chugong, is one of numerous such entries.
Solo Leveling has quickly built a strong fanbase among readers thanks to strikingly good artwork, a simplistic, no-nonsense storyline combined with well-crafted action sequences, and tons of fan service elements. Reasonably, as the anime adaptation...

Universal Pictures’ Fast X cruised to another easy win at China’s theatrical box office over the weekend, earning $17.6 million for a cumulative total of $109.9 million.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid, though, is clearly sinking rather than swimming in the China market. The Rob Marshall-directed film, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel, opened to just $2.5 million — on the far low end for Disney’s live-action remakes in China.
The Little Mermaid was outearned by a pair of holdovers and a new anime release. Local road comedy Godspeed, already a month in cinemas, added $6.8 million to a total that now sits at $145.4 million. Disney/Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 took $4.9 million for a $79.6 million cume. Japanese anime feature Sword Art Online the Movie opened to $3.8 million, with local ticketing app Maoyan forecasting it to top out in China with around $5 million.

K-Pop legend BTS may be on hiatus but fans are decidedly not. Concert film BTS: Yet To Come hit no. 5 at the North American Box office this weekend with 5.1 million on 1,100+ screens, for a cume topping 7.8 million from the first showing Feb. 1.
The group announced last year it was planning to take a break. In October, after their one-off live concert to support the bid by Busan, Korea’s second biggest city, for the World Expo 2030, BTS said its seven members were planning to fulfill the Korean government’s mandatory military service and reconvene as a group in 2025. That concert footage has been cut, re-edited and remixed for the big screen.
“The members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. After the phenomenal concert to support Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030, and as each individual embarks on solo endeavors, it’s the...

The latest outing from the multimedia franchise finds its heroes still trapped inside an RPG, where they learn lessons about cooperation
Online trolls, squabblers and that scourge of Mmorpg, player-killers, come in for a severe ticking-off in the snappily titled second film spin-off of the light novel, manga and TV anime Sword Art Online franchise. This aims to school teen gamers in online etiquette, but goes about it so sententiously it’s enough to send anyone scurrying for the dark web.
Scherzo of Deep Night’s lead pair of avatars, long-tressed fencer Asuna (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) and big-fringed warrior Kirito (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), are still trapped inside Sword Art Online, a D&d-style online role-playing game. They are solo adventurers, but find themselves caught up in the rivalry between two guilds that players can sign up to. When Asuna and Kirito get wind that one is planning to lay hands...

Continuing the legacy of one of the most popular manga and anime, Sao’s franchise has resulted in another movie, based on the “Sword Art Online: Progressive” light novels written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. “Scherzo of Deep Night” is a sequel to “Aria of Starless Night”, with the cast and crew reprising their roles.
Theatrical Dates Set for February 1 in the United Kingdom and Ireland; for February 2 in Australia and New Zealand; and for February 3 in the United States and Canada; with additional dates for Europe and Latin America to be announced
The world’s first Vrmmorpg (Sword Art Online) has taken a rather dark path, since 10,000 users have been trapped inside the game world, and have to clear the top floor of the floating iron castle of Aincrad, in order to escape. Death in the game, however, also means death in reality, with the fact weighing heavily on the players.

Just when we all thought there was no way to beat the embarrassment of anime riches that was 2021, along comes 2022 to blow every expectation away with so many fantastic shows it was nearly impossible even to begin to try and stay up to day with all of them.
There were giant favorites shocking audiences by returning with their best seasons yet, hugely anticipated sequels delivering tons of thrills, brand new shows succeeding expectations, and even entirely original shows full of surprises. No matter your taste, there truly was something for everyone.
This makes it rather tough to even begin to boil down all the great anime of the year into a best-of list, but that won't stop us from trying. Here is the best anime of the year, ranked.
Made In Abyss: The Golden City Of The Scorching Sun
It is very hard to recommend anyone watch "Made in Abyss:...

2022 is almost finished, and boy was it an exciting year for gaming. While we’ll be talking about the year’s many video game highlights, we couldn’t end the year without also sharing a healthy dose of “Wtf?”
Surprise developments are nothing new in the game industry (some of us are still recovering from the sudden cancelation of Star Wars 1313). In fact, surprises are part and parcel with the very nature of games. Sometimes those surprises came in the form of games we thought would be good but are anything but (and vice versa), while other times surprises are just general bits of news.
While every surprise development is, by definition, startling, some revelations are more noteworthy than others. Here are some of 2022’s most important surprise games and game-related news stories.

Saudi-owned Mbc Group, which is the top broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena), is boosting anime offerings on its Shahid streaming platform by ordering up a slew of new content from several Japanese studios.
Reflecting a strong appetite for anime across the region – especially in Saudi, where Toei Animation’s “One Piece Film: Red,” shot to the top of the box office last month – Mbc has extended its partnership with Toei to add more episodes of its “One Piece” TV series, the original iconic pirate adventure story written by Eiichiro Oda.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken is out with his 2021 Spotify playlist, in the spirit of other political figures who’ve taken to releasing their end-of-year favorites.
Blinken’s choices actually are two lists — one an “at home” compilation of American artists, the other an “on the road” selection inspired by places he’s visited over the past year.
The “at home” list — which you can see here — includes 17 choices, including Olivia Rodrigo’s “Traitor,” Taylor Swift’s “State of Grace,” Jon Batiste’s “Freedom,” Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave” and “Leave the Door Open” from Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak and Silk Sonic, as well as “Holy” from Justin Bieber, featuring Chance the Rapper.
The “on the road list” — available here — includes three dozen selections.
This is also a bit of a cultural and diplomatic exercise, as the selections highlight artists from different regions of the world,...
