Mykola Yeriomin considers this film one of his worst, if not the worst of all, but also considers it enjoyable in the "so bad it's good" kind of way. It was also a good exercise in film-making which made him better at understanding the problems of the process and the ways of solving them.
It was a troubled production from start to finish: was planned as a feature film, then trimmed to short, of which only half of the footage was filmed leaving many plot holes and strange scenes. Even some of this footage was lost due to damage of mini-DV disc. Additionally there were sound problems leaving most of the dialogue hard to hear, and the film was edited in the rush just before deadline and for unknown reasons sound was de-synchronized for the premiere.
Originally the film involved a subplot about a gang of blind criminals called 'Blind Syndicate' replaced by an unnamed mugger in the finished film.
Among the lost footage there was a scenes mentioning Jora's Vietnam relics collection.
When Jora hits his head because of loud harmonica music, Sergey Twob actually hit his head. This shot is in the final movie.
Pavel Lankin: as the Mugger. Footage actually taken from Nesokrushymiy (2011), but Pavel Lankin recorded some new dialogue for the film. It's interesting that in Nesokrushymiy (2011) his character was not voiced by him but dubbed by Mykola Yeriomin.
E.S. Tribes: the film's composer can be heard as some of the voices from TV including the commercial about microbes and the TV program about cockroaches. The creepy choir answering to the Captain was also based on his vocalizations.
Mykola Yeriomin: as the voice of the Surgeon (both English and fake Ukrainian television dub) and as the credits narrator of "The Head Hunter" fake Ukrainian dub (The Head Hunter (1982)).
