I saw this film at a Doxbio premiere and I was quite surprised how hard it hit me! The end was so touching even it was quite a weird genre, I still can't figure it out! It's a very personal family story that is told almost like a detective story about a grandson trying to open up his old grandmother that lives in a small island. It has a lot of humor even though the theme is so serious, I was quite surprised about that. The whole cinema was laughing many times.
It reminded me of the film Stories we tell by Sarah Polly which is also a family story told almost like it was a thriller. It seems like there is a new wave of documentary films that mix genres of reconstruction and documentary in new ways where it is difficult to know what is what.
