Sunday Brunch
studioAT8 June 2022
Good fun actually.

It's not really my sort of thing, but every now and then it does surprise you by having a guest who isn't the sort of person to pop up on this sort of thing, and gives genuine answers.

Fine enough viewing.

Revamp or ditch!

C'mon Channel 4, you're better than this. 10 years ago it was kind of ok, acceptable, background viewing Today, we've all moved on but Sunday Brunch hasn't. It's style is stale to the point of tedious. Tim love joy is a horrendously bad presenter, unable to converse with any quest and appear genuinely interested, relying on que cards throughout. Johnny Vaughan summed him up perfectly this week... 'it's like listening to a 12 year old reading out loud in class, as he's reading the autoque for the first time!

Simon Rimmer is much better, has presence and interest.

Crass, cringeworthy and uninteresting.

Stale

Seems that a joke gets dragged out for not even weeks, but months now, eg "I started the question..... " And it's usually a joke that wasn't even that funny to begin with. King of the tin dragged on for far too long to the point of being painful. Seems a lot of the same guests repeat. Just seems stale and a bit dull now that I barely pay any attention to it. Once upon a time ot was highlightnof Sunday morning. Was funny. Now a bit cringe.

Sunday Morning Viewing For The Masses.
GalAlba11 December 2022
It's good Sunday morning viewing; accessible and entertaining.

Basically, the show is a bit of silly fun, kid's TV for adults, made for lazy Sunday mornings. It's very popular for a reason; it's just relatable stuff.

There is a chemistry between the presenters. It has that, lads at play vibe, which always connects to the masses. There is no highbrow middle class pretence present; which so often comes with cookery shows. It's old fashioned working class entertainment with a contemporary twist.

If you don't like either or all of the following: white people, the working class, men, football, daft fun, food or popular culture, you may not like this show, because, it's made for the masses.

Perfect Sunday Morning Viewing

There's nothing quite as entertaining as these two on a Sunday morning. It's got the right balance of exciting food, and natural, sometimes welcoming silly comedy that sets the guests at ease. Keep it going folks, we need stuff this. 👍

Too long for too long

Was mildly amusing with relatively grounded and engaging presenters - even after jumpung from BBC to C4. Nowadays it feels like there is too much padding. Reminds me of meeting an old school friend in your forties and finding he is still banging on about he same things he did when he was 15. Some amusing historic anecdotes and nostalgic catchphrases - but wears thin when you realise that's all there is.

Some interesting guests on occassion - but are usually cut short. The producers don't seem to get what makes good TV. Seems they would prefer to fosus on attempting to devlop catch phrases and cringey sub Fast Show style quizes and skits - crumgeon, shout out, who's line of work is it anyway, pet TV etc etc etc etc etc over and over. Makes the show a difficult watch. I check who is on before I commit any time to it - the regular slots are a not worth hanging about for.

Needs a change of host - terrible
davidhutton-5959226 September 2023
Used to love this show but Tim Lovejoy is just terrible.

He thinks he is something that he definitely isn't.

The show needs new blood, someone with charisma who can actually host and interview.

Maquita Oliver is fantastic when she hosts alongside Simon.

She has real talent, a personality, experience and an opinion.

The show has stagnated and although I used to watch every weekend Tim Lovejoy is so poor at what he does that the show becomes frustrating, pretty pointless, annoying and definitely not funny.

Bring on a bit of change and not just Tim thinking that he is funny when he absolutely is not.

This is not a personal vendetta, make the program good again and make Maquita a permanent improvement and change........
