Hits the current topics but a little short on time
JCinHB8 December 2022
Given how hard it is to even make a basic joke in todays Woke environment, Jeff was able to cover a variety of todays topics and still get the laughs. As many people have been saying... Walter is a ringer for Biden and of course Jeff takes advantage of the situation (of course any Lefty will hate to see reality slapped in their faces) and gets a fair and not too many jokes in.

Sorry, but when Biden is more Walter than Walter is... its pretty easy to line the jokes up and bowl them over. But, he didn't spend his entire time jabbing on Biden. He then goes to his other puppets and a new one and gets a bunch of jokes in on a variety of todays topics with lots of laughs.

The main problem I see with this special is it could have gone on for another 20 or so minutes to take it to a full hour.

You can clearly see where the editing happened and makes you wonder, what did he talk about that didn't make the final cut? Was that done so you will go out and see his show or was it that the 'powers that be' didn't want us to see what he did??

I always have a good time with Jeff Dunham and would give him an 8, but with the shorter set, I rank it a 7.

Some good contents in the show...
paul_haakonsen4 December 2022
Right, well as the opportunity presented itself to sit down and watch "Jeff Dunham: Me the People", of course I did so. However, while I am not overly much a fan of Jeff Dunham, then this wasn't really something that had me worked up. But I still opted to watch it, as I hadn't seen it.

There is good news here for the fans of Jeff Dunham, because "Jeff Dunham: Me the People" does follow the formula that he has been running on for years and somewhat perfected, I suppose. So if you like his previous many shows, then you will also enjoy this one.

Personally then it is always Peanut that steals the show, and it was no different in "Jeff Dunham: Me the People", because Peanut was spunky, energetic and, well, being Peanut.

The material in "Jeff Dunham: Me the People" was good, and there were some good laughs here and there, and Jeff Dunham does take some good jabs at the current US president, as well as today's society with the sad addiction to mobile devices. So he does work some interesting contents into his routines.

Yeah, I was entertained by watching "Jeff Dunham: Me the People", however it is hardly something I will return to watch a second time.

My rating of "Jeff Dunham: Me the People" lands on a five out of ten stars.

"Do you not see how ridiculous this is?"

Warning: Spoilers
I was happy to see a new Jeff Dunham special, but overall, this was too short and was missing Achmed the Terrorist, a favorite character. What I thought was positive was Dunham willing to take on the woke agenda in this country, with shots against the liberalism that pervades in so many areas. It began with his character Walter, who if you took a picture of him side by side with Joe Biden, he would be a dead ringer. Familiar puppets like Bubba J, Peanut, and Jose Jalapeno (on a steek) were on hand, along with a new puppet, a never ceasing texter by the name of Url, who true to form, delivered all of Dunham's jokes while firmly absorbed in his cell phone. Although some of Dunham's rejoinders via his characters was on the crude side, at least he didn't resort to a lot of four letter words during his act, something I've come to appreciate versus so many standup comedians today. Joined by his wife Audrey and young twin sons Jack and James as he closed out his show, it appeared that the crowd was in general agreement with Dunham's brand of humor, with a number of them bowled over in laughter.

Better than the previous but not as good as his best

Warning: Spoilers
I actually liked that he went this way. It is time that a comedian dares to make fun of the old guy. He deserved that and so much more... That's why the Walter bit was good but it could have been even better/harsher. The new guy wasn't bad either. Peanut and Bubba J were boring. They were only there to serve the nostalgia feeling. Jose was somewhat good. No Achmed at all.

Jeff is aging and this shows. You don't feel that in-your-face attitude. He is not as provocative as should be but at least his routine wasn't full of the allowed topics like certain other comic's performances. He still plays it too safe.

Summary: I can recommend this for watching.

Only downside is the length...Too short

Warning: Spoilers
Just watched this one and who knew Jeff Dunham could see the future? That was awesome when Walter (playing Biden) read the stage directions off the "teleprompter" just like Biden has done recently...

He could do a 2 hour special just with Walter pretending to be Biden and only just scratch the surface of the Biden stupidity.

Give the show a watch and just binge a couple of the other short specials and you can get 2-3 of them in the same time a movie would run.

I don't know if they cut the time on these but if not I would be mad going to one of these specials with the costs of it and finding out it took longer to buy something from the concessions than the show was. Can you imagine standing in line to buy something and getting to your seat and hearing...Thanks for coming all.. Good night.

Awesome fun.
Top_Dawg_Critic7 December 2022
Great to see the old gang back, as well as some new faces. This was entertaining start to finish, and Dunham manages to touch on every relevant subject in today's current social environment with style and laughter. Walter as Biden was hilarious but Jose and his new identity was the best, especially his interactions with Peanut. Name a better duo, I'll wait. It's a shame Ahmed was retired, he was one of the best and original characters, but I guess every comedian has to make adjustments to culturally fit in. Luckily Dunham still squeezes in some inappropriate shocks here and there. This was much better than I expected - not his best, but still better than many recent comedy shows. A well deserved 9/10 from me, and will be watching this again many times for sure.

Lifeless - and not the guys in the box.
ElectricMonks1 December 2022
Jeff Dunham. I used to be a big fan. Now I'm a small AC. And if you don't like that joke at least I prepared you well for his 40 minute snooze-fest. Never thought I would skip over some bits of his show, but I just did. Used to roll on the floor watching his earlier work. Don't get me wrong, he is still competent and extremely professional except the spark of insanity and the originality is gone. The jokes are boring, and you can see them coming for a mile. But the worst part was, that I knew some of them from the internet. That shouldn't happen. Maybe you should just know when to quit. But I guess money talks. It would be sad to see him fill smaller and smaller venues after filling arenas during the world tour. I guess we'll find out.

Where was Achmed?
deborahs-7195813 February 2023
Haven't seen his show in a long while so I was happy to see it airing on tv yesterday. He's gotten a bit racier than previous shows, but still so funny. My only wish was that Achmed would've been there along with the others. Achmed is super popular and I am wondering why he was left out of this one. Being hearing impaired I'm not able to attend a live concert as I need the captioning on my tv to know what Jeff and his puppets are talking about, so I'm hoping to see more new shows featuring Jeff and the guys in the boxes on tv soon. I'm amazed at how talented he is and I really enjoy everything I've seen him do.

Disappointing
butterflygirl-1205614 April 2023
One of the best things about Mr. Dunham's comedy until now was that it brought people together. He was an equal opportunity comedian/critic. His jokes were written with the audience in mind....he gave us a laugh without being crass or too hateful. Unfortunately this latest "special" was just one sided, unimaginative, and full of pandering to the lowest denominator, at a time when our country is already struggling to hold itself and together. As a long time fan, I was disappointed with the quality of the material as well as his unabashed political agenda. We watch his type of comedy for a lighthearted laugh so as to be distracted from the everyday stresses of life. Why did you decide to change your show Mr. Dunham? Why further divide our country? You are privileged to have a platform and a voice that could have been used to unite your audience with lighthearted laughter as was your gift. It seems as if your attained wealth and privilege have cost you the talent I so admired in your shows. You had the ability to be an equal opportunity comedian with a light touch. I'm saddened to see and hear that you've taken your talent and turned it into a weapon to insult and further divide our country. It may not bother you that you've lost a long time fan but it saddens me deeply that you've buckled under the pressures of hate, money, and privilege at a time when your loyalest fans needed you the most.

Hilarious and fun
wesleycoover26 April 2023
So excited to be able to watch this at home on Paramount+! Jeff's delivery is always on point and I can't stop laughing when he brings Peanut on stage - Dunham's humor is as sharp as ever in MTP, it's a must-see for fans and newcomers alike.

And honestly, if you need a good laugh, Jeff Dunham's "Me The People" is the perfect remedy - it's funny, irreverent, and just plain entertaining. I watched MTP with my family and we were all in tears from laughing so hard. He brought out the lovable characters we all know and it makes for a hilarious show with some of the fresh ideas Dunham approaches. Worth the watch!

Losing his abilities
drjgardner6 December 2022
I'm a big fan of ventriloquists, starting as far back as Edgar Evans and Charlies McCarthy and Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney. I've enjoyed many since, especially Terry Factor, Puff the Magic Dragon, and Jeff Dunham. But every ventriloquist reaches a point where he should zipper his mouth and Dunham is fast approaching that time.

Dunham, at his peak, was maybe the best ever for being able to say stuff without seeing his lips. No more. Even the simple stuff is revealing now, though his attempts to re-direct are good. Simply - he lost the skill. He's still OK, and probably better than OK, but he no longer is what he once was.

Maybe more disturbing, his comedy isn't that funny, and never was, but this film has some really disgusting parts. There is a place for disgusting stuff in some stand-up comedy, but IMO it doesn't belong in a puppet show.

If you're a fan, miss this one or it may change your opinion. If you're Dunham reading this review, time to consider retiring while you still have a reputation to protect.

Don't Waste Your Time
cockezville5 December 2022
At one time I liked Jeff Dunham and his puppets I thought he had a nice twist on. The human experience and his puppets made me laugh. But now his comedy just leaves me totally cold now.

I guess his last specials have become so political that I find myself just being annoyed . If I waned politics I could go to Fox or MSNBC.

Maybe I am missing something but didn't the Jeff Dunham comedy specials used to be family friendly to a point, but this fare misses anything that could be friendly family. And the sexual stuff just is tacky.

I suppose if you want some off color comedy from a performer who seems to have lost what was endearing, then go for it.

Cute Durham kids preceded by highly uncute topics
a-edgson6 December 2022
Why do we have a guy who introduces us to his cute kids at the end of the show, and uses cute puppets...bringing in very uncute, overused and often crude topics?? In earlier shows "I Kill You" was fun times amongst the other characters but as some of the low reviews here have indicated... pretty poor material and jokes as old as the hills in this edition. Come on Jeff, give us some family fun new angles and leave out the crudity, you'll still make as much money if not more. And I reckon Jeff could work on convincing us more that he is not a ventriloquist, perhaps by omitting to have so many of his blank stares which are then followed by laughing at his puppets...comes across as someone who laughs at their own jokes eh.
