In the Jungle the Mighty Jungle
Hitchcoc19 February 2023
The main issue in this episode involves the selling and transporting of wild animals--specifically tigers. It starts with one of the most unpleasant scenes in this entire series. A woman and her husband go off the road and get their tires stuck. As she revs the engine it throws up what is buried in a shallow spot, spraying the guy with every manner of dead tissue and blood. In a silly sidebar, Brennan has decided she will run for President and actually starts to formulate ideas for the country. Her intractable nature would make her a much better dictator or monarch. Finally, Sweets and Daisy have made the decision to live together, but there are some pitfalls. Rather average offering.

Warning: Spoilers
This was kind of a random episode. At the beginning we had Bones talking about how she wanted to be president, which while it was an entertaining B plot, it just seemed really random and out of the blue. We also got to hear Bones say that "Donald Trump was thinking of running" - if the writers back in 2012 only knew...

I didn't really care for the case this week. I felt like it is pretty forgettable. The idea of smuggling animals could be really interesting, but I just didn't feel like this case did it justice. Despite all of this, Bones did such a good job with the emotional work when they find the dead tiger. I really felt bad for her in that moment.

Another B plot from this episode is that Daisy and Sweets are moving in together, or at least, that was the plan until Sweets freaked out. I think both Daisy and Sweets are in the wrong for this issue. First of all, how did Sweets not know that moving in together is a big deal? People don't just randomly move in together, it is a big commitment both financially and in the relationship, so I think he should have considered that more when he signed a lease with her. Second, Daisy needs to slow down. When Sweets asked her at the end how soon she thought they would get married and she said "a year, maybe less if I get pregnant" I was shocked. I feel like this is something they should have talked about before signing a lease. Also, the whole "maybe less if I get pregnant" comment is another example of how much Daisy wants to emulate Bones and I just find it so creepy.

Overall, this episode was okay but nothing too special 7/10

Best part: Booth walking out with "Vote Bones" presidential pins all over his shirt - we gotta love a supportive partner

Worst part: The whole interaction between Hodgins, Angela, Daisy and Sweets when Hodgins says to "carry her over the threshold" then Sweets obviously seems uncomfortable with this and Daisy just says "we will do it" ugh so cringe.

Great, Except Bones' Response

Warning: Spoilers
Ok, blood guts all over the place and Bones comes out on top. The one thing I didn't like was the devaluation of human life over that of animal lives.
