Quite enjoyable!

This is my first time and probably everyone's first time to see a anime based on popular religious figures. i have to say as a non religious person myself, I thought it was really interesting to see how the writers of the manga might think if Jesus and Buddha were actually going to vacate together on earth. I mean it really is a good idea to have that type of story and the fact there was no south park like behaviour on this with making a mockery as the religious figures. Honestly it was pretty peaceful and sweet, although I did feel sorry for Buddha that the boy's on the street were taking the pee on him and pretty much, it was just made for laughs. It was just innocent and like the boy's said sorry so it seems they aren't doing any more pranks lol. At least he forgave them with his sweet godly smile ^.^ I definately agree that this is a positive anime that you definitely need to watch if you're having a bad day. Like really regardless what type of religion you believe in, this anime definately brings a smile to your face!

Great concept, cute execution, average humour, poor animation

The Good: Conceptually, this movie is brilliant. It's high-concept storytelling at its most divine (pardon the pun). The movie's slice-of-life depiction of two of the most celebrated religious/cultural leaders makes for a fun experience.

The movie can feel offensive to those who easily get offended (one must remember - feeling 'offended' is a manifestation of one's own insecurities). If you watch this movie with an open mind, you'll have a good time.

The Bad: As is the case with most Japanese comedy (anime or otherwise), some jokes don't translate well into English. This is important to note since this movie is basically a light-hearted comedy.

The animation could've been better too - the movie has way too many still shots with background narration - at times it feels like less of a movie and more of a slideshow.

That was amazing.

Now that was really refreshing. I loved the miniseries and the movie was pretty good as well. The concept could have been explored more, maybe putting in Krishna would have made it even more lit. But once again, great movie and I truly enjoyed it.

A Pleasant Surprise

I wasn't expecting much from this. I was surprised. The lead characters were portrayed as truly compassionate, caring, and quite human. I enjoyed the take that they were saints, but still on their individual journeys, enjoying the experience of Earth. They find mysteries in one another and are still learning, even after many centuries. Two great friends on an innocent adventure. I especially liked that there were no sharply defined "bad guys". Just regular people and the occasional Yakuza!

Lots of fun. Not fast moving. Just hanging out with two friends. Enjoy.
