Fresh show , messy ending
seveneleven-4426920 May 2019
This was one of the unique you can find , starting was good ,but in the middle it feels like the writers got confused about the whole story plot. Some scenes in the last 3 episodes don't make sense at all, you can only make it to the end if you are fan of one of the leads, no complain about the acting from the leads and the supporting cast.ending should have been better.

Annoyingly fun
chilligrrl18 May 2020
Ok the woman was just a doormat who never knew what she wanted, and the ending just baffled me (WHY? WHY?), but it was quite a good comedy with some very laugh out loud moments. The wannabe girlfriend from the USA was so in your face that she was absolutely hilarious.

The main actor guy, well, he just got a major fangirl here. I first saw him in Train to Busan (not so much shirt removing in that one) and well, being a superficial person I rather liked him in this and his acting skills, particularly when he nailed being an immature kid.

Worth watching for a nice, funny feel good kind of comedy with a few annoying characters but still, it's worth watching.

The ending confused me.

Warning: Spoilers
The two leads were great. My other favourite charactor was Da Ren's teacher friend.

But what was the ending about?

They were supposed to have switched bodies back. But the ending didn't show that. Maybe Da ren was so used to seeing the kkj as the older guy, that's how she saw him ,even when he appeared as himself.

Very likeable, but only until 13th episode

I liked this drama alot! And I found the woman lead very much alike me. But that's maybe why I got so annoyed by her in the end. She was so into pleasing others that when she found happiness, she turned it down almost immedietly because of someone else's interest. The 13th episode ending was so heartbreaking, that I couldnt watch on :/

Fun idea, end makes no sense

Warning: Spoilers
The good: 7 stars for Gong Yoo being "silly" and the supporting cast as well. The fact that Yoon Jae and Kyung Joon were twins was cool but awful at the same time because the younger son was only born for "spare parts". The only character who had any development was Kyung Joon, who started out as a brat and then matured quite a bit. He was sweet and did so much for Da Ran but she did nothing for him. Seeing him pout and mope was hilarious. Honestly, I only watched this bc of Gong Yoo. He never disappoints! He carried this show all the way.

The bad: Main actress/character boring, bland, has 0 personality and 2 facial expressions: surprised and confused. I understand her dilemma, of having someone else in your fiance's body. Personally I wouldn't care either way if it's Gong Yoo :) I thought the idea was cool but pitting a teenager against an adult was weird. Could have been someone older so it would be less icky. Because honestly, how could this have ended, with the kid and a 30 yo woman? But I also didn't want her going back to her fiance. They consistently portrayed Yoon Jae as someone who didn't love Da Ran: he never made time for her (despite spending 2 hours at the gym every day to get that slamming body), had an emotional affair with a coworker, was flaky about the wedding and was planning on running off to wherever. They never even kissed! Who gets engaged to someone without even kissing them at the very least? Or telling them you love them? Then they start backtracking to try making him to be a good guy after all just to confuse the already confused Da Ran, who forgets that he doesn't love her. I'm pretty sure he was going to break up with her in person, not tell her that he loved her. Also, do taxis not exist in S Korea? Because the characters just take off running all the time. Is everything within running distance?

The awful: I still don't understand all the drama with the boys' parents and the artist? What was all that back and forth about? Last 3/4 episodes were... ? Kyung Joo's aunt & uncle being greedy was cliché but him being in love with Da Ran's mom was weird and forced. And the two most important scenes weren't even shown: the wedding and the souls transfering back (or not, who knows)!!! WTF was that ending? Did Kyung Joon stay in the adult body after all or was it Da Ran's imagination? Was she seeing an adult body yet he was still 18/19? I also really disliked the coworker being BFFs with YJ's mom. The clingy obsessed teenage girl was annoying AF! Did she not go to school? How did she have money to up and move to S Korea and live there for a year? Who would allow a teenager to do that? And then using Choong Sik and giving him false hope. He deserved better.

Conclusion: watch this for fun but don't expect much of an ending.

Two actresses shine
phd_travel20 August 2022
This story is more than just a young soul going into an older body. The complex relationships and emotion are quite involving and rewarding but the viewer has to concentrate. This is no beginners K drama. It is quite meaningful about falling in love with the person inside. One of those k dramas where the kiss is quite meaningful. Liked the way the connection between the two guys was established. Those people who don't like the story didn't appreciate it and it's a shame. Of the Hong sisters works this is emotionally deeper and not pure comedy. Their trademark zany humor is still there. Tuneful soundtrack with nice catchy songs.

The 2 female leads are amazing. Lee Min Jung is pretty and sweet and endearing. Suzy Bae is lovely and confident and shows her star quality at a young age here. Gong Yoo does a good job in a complicated role. He hasn't got the handsomest face in K drama land but he acts convincingly.

The last third is repetitive and the ending is a little rushed without tying up all the loose ends but still a worthwhile watch.

Brainless plot that rears it's ugly head half way through
azlagr22 July 2022
Gong Yoo's talent is wasted in this role. He does a great job of acting like a kid trapped in a man's body but although his acting is commendable, this is one to pass on. The premise seemed to have potential but the "romance" would be deemed unacceptable if the male and female positions were switched. Some early laughs but it all falls apart midway when this unlikely relationship starts to form. Trudged through this tripe since I already had a lot of time invested and I was viewing with my SO. Skip this, like we should have. Of all the K-dramas I've viewed this is by far the worst of the bunch.

Good enough

Warning: Spoilers
Having been warned that the ending was horrible, I've watched this drama expecting the worse. But liking the idol from Crossgene and being a Suzy fan, I just had to watch this. And, truthfully, the ending wasn't that horrible, it was simply bad. No spoilers, but I don't really know what they wanted to achieve by that ending, did they wanted us to guess the mystery guy? Well, it wasn't that big of a mystery if you could make out the guy's physique, but anyway. The whole idea was interesting and the first half was funny and entertaining. The romance was so so with the girl always being uncertain of what she wanted. Plus, the whole age gap was just ignored by the end. Anyway, other than the romance that I didn't personally like, another thing that was a bit of a let down was the constant flash backs that kept happening towards the ending. Plus, repeating the same lines over and over again was just annoying. Other than that, it was an okay drama, with some funny moments, so 4 out of 10.
