This is one of my favourite episodes from the show. Without doubt Ed is the one and only reason why I bother with Wheeler Dealers, and this particular episode exemplifies why he makes every episode so interesting!
In this case he has to replace a rotten chassis from the underside of a classic Morgan. Everything else about the car - the body, the engine. wheels, brakes, interior were all fine and required little or no work. But to replace the chassis meant Ed and his mate, Paul, had to take the entire car to pieces in order to access and remove the rusted chassis from the body of the car.
I don't know if he has to reference some kind of owner's manual offscreen in order to know the sequence of removing each component part in order, but he makes light work of it all the same. Not only that but he seems to love the new challenge of replacing a chassis compared to the usual stuff he does on the show - ie. replacing engines or gear boxes etc.
No doubt the entire swap-out took days or even weeks to complete in real time, and despite the hard work, Ed makes it fun to watch if only because he knows how to engage an audience without boring us with patronising petrolhead stuff.
Great work, Ed!
